I’ve been on 20mg Citalopram for several years now, and it’s been absolutely amazing for me. Like you I really struggled when I first started taking it, having to start on a quarter of a tablet a day, then up to a half once I could tolerate it more, then three quarters and finally a full tablet a day. It made me feel SO nauseous at the beginning. My anxiety has long gone now, as have my anxiety attacks. I’m very much back to my real confident, happy self, and I love it! It’s so so so worth going through the initial stages as Citalopram is so so affective.
Celexa/citalopram is amazing. As someone who struggles with insomnia, Prozac and others keep me up all night. Celexa allows me to have energy during the day and feel tired at night. My sleep is so good and restful for the first time in my life. No panic attacks and my mood is always great. I also gained weight, a little over 15lbs in the past month and a half I’ve been on it. I work out frequently though so it’s all good weight. 10/10 would recommend!
I have panic disorder. I was on it for 4.5 years. Got off it with a 6 week gradual reduction. Was fine for 3 months. Felt great. Then the depression started back up. Followed by debilitating anxiety. So I am going back on. I wish I wouldn’t have come off. I am grateful this medication exists in my lifetime. 9 days back on, so I’m still not fully up and running again. But I’m hopeful by week 4 I’ll be back to “normal”. Maybe it’s the chaos the world is in now, between covid and Ukraine and all the worry about US unity. If I do get off again, I’ll try and do it when the world is in a better place.
@@behealthy9398I’m not sure about weight gain. Maybe 10~15lbs over 7 years? But I’m also dipping into middle age so it might be normal. Sex drive was never really affected at all.

I took Citalopram (in the morning) and Nortriptyline (at night) for about 4 years. I gradually stopped taking them, with the help of my doctor, and I went 7 years without antidepressants. Now, due to a trigger, I am having anxiety attacks again and I started taking them again.

I am on day 6 of 20mg. I reached a point a few weeks ago that I was broken, stressed all day every day for years and serious anxiety and depression. Really hoping it will give me some desperately needed relief.
I am on day 2 with 20 mg. I suffer from depression and ocd/anxiety. I know 3-4 people who took this med for these things, all said it changed their lives they fully happy and normal now. You will also feel it - stay in there and let the medication work for some weeks.
@@thealmightyking3686 The 20mg didn't provide me with real relief from anxiety. I was put on 40mg at end of June and it has been a life saver. Hi Diane! I am sooooo sorry. This has to be an incredibly difficult time for you. To answer your questions, I can sleep at nightmost nights just fine and driving is okay (WAYYY better than it was before) some days are better than others. I am working on cutting down the caffeine intake (because that MIGHT be adding to my sweatiness... so we will see!) But I'm definitely feeling way better than I was when I was not on the medication
On 10mg week 3 now, no side effects and really feeling good and it's not placebo. Ohly thing is appetite has gone down. Normally fast but trying to eat something daily now while taking this meds. Put this off for long as my son is on SNRI been through the lot with him. My nervous system completely calmed down after trying everything myself first, I was stuck in fight or flight each day all day. I feel the difference. I can breathe again.
