  • In this video, I share my personal experience and reflections on taking antidepressants for the past two months. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety for years, I decided to seek medical help and was prescribed medication by my doctor.
I talk about the initial side effects I experienced, such as nausea and dizziness, and how they subsided after a few weeks. I also share how my mood and overall mental health have improved since starting the medication, including being able to enjoy activities that I previously found difficult to find pleasure in.
Overall, my journey on antidepressants has been a positive one, and I hope that sharing my experience can provide insight and support for others who may be considering medication as part of their mental health treatment plan.

As a person who works in healthcare, thank you for sharing your mental health diagnosis and journey! The amount of time I spend and see others spend with patients in relation to their mental health is slowly growing, especially in the Latino community as patients open themselves up and others up to how they are really feeling. The world has changed alot yes, predisposing humanity to these illnesses, but to some degree the prevelance of depression was always there we just didnt talk about it or we didn’t have a name for it for fear of facing something without a solution. Now we have tools and ailments to help manage this. ❤❤❤ Sending so much love.

I am on day 6 of fluoxetine for anxiety/panic attacks. I’ll definitely say I was one of those people against medication and tried to avoid taking it at all costs. I now realize that it’s OK to get help. Just how you would get help for a broken arm the same should be for your mental health. Here’s to hoping I am back to my normal self soon 🙏🏻

I’m gonna be honest, I haven’t watched you since years ago when you first started doing makeup. Crazy how far you’ve come! I’ve noticed lots of RUclipsrs, especially in the makeup industry, have really succumbed to depression. Hurts my soul. I also noticed your site is now related to Spirituality. Love that you’re searching. I pray you find Jesus in this spirituality search and healing with depression. I suffered through depression and harm OCD which I do not wish upon anyone, but truly freed through Jesus. Haven’t had an episode for 3 years. In this world He said there will be struggles but the strength through Jesus is so beyond me, I can’t even explain it. I’m praying for you! Research New Age to Jesus. And so much freedom story. The emptiness we have cannot be filled with things of this world, only through Jesus. Praying 🙏🏻 ❤

I loved the video! Thank you for sharing. I started Lexapro maybe a week before you. I was scared to start taking it, but it has also been amazing for me. I now feel so free and emotionally balanced as well. I did not even know my daily "worries" were not normal. I always thought I was just the worry type of person. So now it is so nice to not be in my own head all the time. Please keep sharing and hopefully it will help other people. I had initially decided not to take it, my psychiatrist shared he took an antidepressant. That influenced me to give it a try myself.

Haven’t seen you in years. Came across this video 💜 it’s so nice people sharing more about their mental health. I also got diagnosed with PTSD, perfectionist, also had issues with dissociation. It’s so true everyone is different when it comes to medication. Glad you found the one that works for you. I tried so many but unfortunately made me feel worse. I’m doing it naturally & mostly with the help of therapy. I got rid of my panic attacks/dissociation. Much better place 💜 going through such a terrible experience inspired me to help others.

@@MarMore13 Therapy was a big part, just learning about my triggers. To be able to heal. You have to put in a lot of hard work with therapy and on my own. Like journaling, being outdoors, pets help, doing things I like! And surrounding myself by people that understood and valued me as a person. Also learning about the condition I was going through. Reminding myself that everything was temporary and acknowledging that it’s all temporary. What are your struggles?

@@MarMore13 sorry for late response just saw it. Awww that’s so sweet that you are looking for information. Having a supportive parent means so much when you have a struggle. Medication can work for some people but honestly it depends how one reacts. Medication can always be temporary. Without medication there’s natural supplements. But again everyone reacts different. But therapy is super helpful along with those things. Chamomile tea..

Your 1st week video and this video are so helpful for me. I can relate to so many things you experienced before starting the meds. How you were feeling day to day, lack of friends from pushing them away. Like you I have been dealing with depression for my entire adult life and I've tried the natural ways. I completely changed my lifestyle. Which did help with my anxiety a bit. I don't have weekly anxiety attacks anymore. However depression and those feelings of hopelessness are still there. I have so many big life goals I want to accomplish and depression and anxiety has held me back in a major way so I hope Lexapro will be that missing link like you said. I start tomorrow! Looking forward to feeling and functioning as a normal human being again!

Started Lexapro for depression/anxiety this week and I've been experiencing internal mood swings that I'm trying to manage. Just trying to lay low while I adjust to it. Really comforting to know where you started becuase it feels so similar to what I've felt for so long. My paranoia and self doubt/judgment became concerning over the last couple of years and I felt I ran out of options. I'm trying to be optomisitic and get over this hump and feel "normal" for once. Thank you for the content. Really setting me at ease for the time being.

It is helpful for anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, ADD, etc. I’ve done one session and I already feel so different and so much better. I am also on Lexapro and I am on welbutrin. But I was on those before the neuro feedback, but I was searching for something to help in addition the meds and/or get to a point where I don’t need them.b

I think most of the new generation is or sadly will suffer from depression or anxiety. I believe that we can change all this for our newer generation, our kids, grankids, nieces n nephews. Starting from nurturing with love, discipline, manners and staying off social media!!!! Working on their self esteem, what we EAT! What is in our food is so important to research. Our abuelos and tios ate "organic " some did well and lived a life without all these issues. My uncle had anxiety and depression at 85! He was lonely, ate poorly during his later years. Thanks to covid. No one could visit him . Dam is you do, dam if you dont. My point is depression is a beast! I suffer with several things. Gastro and colon issues. Guys I'm really bad. My anxiety is awful! Im on b12 vitamins, i do the injections. Probiotics ( haven't felt a difference yet) eating only protein and certain vegetables and fruits. No Wheat, No rice no brown rice nothing. Working on a body that has depression is a battle. Love to you all.

I have tried medication in the past but can't seem to get past the first 4 days. Lexapro has a chill on until I got scared and got off of it though. Why continue to make urself struggle if you do not need to. I used to be on Lexapro it worked really well for a number of years. Towards the end I started gaining weight and couldn’t loose weight no matter what I did. I also started to get extremely tired. I switched to Wellbutrin which helped a lot ! I got more energy and was able to loose weight. You have to find what is right for you at that moment.

Been on ssri/snri for 2 years, right now taking 150 mg of an snri. I would say they don't help much, perhaps around 5-10 percent, the rest is up to you. I would say that weed has profoundly given me better help than antidepressants, even though I have an addictive relationship to it.

Lean on your faith for strength. 🙏The pills are not needed. Our society has made antidepressants a norm. Unplug from social media and stop watching the news and all the fears forced upon our eyes. Take up kick boxing or Yoga. Meditate everyday and read books. All the best to you🙌

Some people have strong holds and don't know how to rid of them. Yes, meditation on the word of God really helped me a lot! But sometimes, one feels they need to take something to take the edge off.

It is a constant state of unhappiness. It’s not just a mood. Moods change, depression is constant.

Struggled with depression since i was a teenager, finally found a great combo including Lexapro as one of them in my late 20s. Its life changing to finally find the right medication. I spent years off and on all different kinds of medications unfortunately it took so long to finally find one that works for me. It takes a few weeks for medication to really start working and can increase the dose if needed as you go. These medications do not work overnight! It takes time.
