I started citalopram about 5 days ago. It makes me sad that I'm wondering all the time if this is how normal people feel. I was constantly having self negative talk for years, overthinking all the time and being defensive most of the time. I'm still scared but wow these days were a huge rest for my brain and my soul.

I know the exact feeling dude. Celexa is the only thing I’ve tried that made me think “So this is what it feels like to be ‘normal!’” and then I stopped taking it, thinking I can handle life now, but I was wrong, then it stopped working… here I am several years later trying again, hoping they work like the first time! Been on 10mg about a week, haven’t noticed much relief yet… waiting patiently!

The only symptoms I got was decreased appetite, slight nausea and I felt very tired but that only lasted for about a week and the symptoms started to clear up, please don’t be put off by the side effects, I almost stopped taking citalopram after 2 days but I convinced myself to stick to them for atleast a month and honestly that was the best decision of my life, I can actually live my life normally now, my mindsets improved and I’m a lot more organised, my heads a lot more clearer and I feel so much happier, so even if you may feel bad for the next few days, you’re doing this to benefit your future self and you’ll be so grateful that you started them. I know starting new medication can be scary but your doctor wouldn’t of prescribed you them if they thought you’d have a bad reaction, also it’s really important to be patient with the meds, after about two weeks I felt better but I was still getting panic attacks, I only felt the full effects at about 6 weeks, but you might start to feel them at 4 weeks, you’ve got this

I started Citalopram 20mg 9 days ago. So far no side effects. Dont be sacred of taking it. Keep going with your daily routines and take tjis medicin if needed. I take it for depression, anxiety and ocd. So far only a little tiredness and some hot flushed few times a day. Nothing else.
And already felt it lifted a little of the depression and anxiety a little low aswell. All people i know who took this med had good experiences. Dont read all the negative stuff out there. We all different.

Update. Now 13 days into Citalopram 20 mg. Anxiety is almost gone. Depression - the worst is lifted not fully gone. But it can take 4-5 weeks for full effect.
No big side effects except a little more yawning and tiredness but nothing extreme. Otherwise a little worsen anxiety first week but nothing which scared me.
All in all so far so good. Hope the full effects will come soon.

I started 2 days ago and haven't been able to sleep much these past 2 nights. I normally have no trouble sleeping, in fact I like to sleep a lot, but now I spend hours just lying awake. I hope it goes away eventually since I feel pretty good during the days. This morning I felt so awful I decided to just not take it today in the hope of sleeping a bit better again. It's evening now and I still feel just fine, haven't noticed any effects from skipping. I know you shouldn't stop or skip without consulting a doctor but I'm trusting my gut here. I'm very scared the depressed feels will return, but maybe they won't? I read it takes a few days for it to fully leave your body so that could be why I'm still feeling alright. We'll see I guess.

hey, ive had 2 seperate cases of severe panic disorder for about 3 years on and off, i used to take lexapro on the smallest dose, 2.5mg and then 5mg and it really helped me overcome my disorder completely the first time (end of 2019 into 2020) but when i got panic disorder a second time (end of 2020) from smoking weed, I noticed not much of an impact on the same dose 2.5mg but i was told multiple times to up my dose for it and i was too scared to so i quit the medication cold turkey, and got insane migraines/headaches (thinking someting in my head was gonna pop it was so bad) as a withdrawal i think and for the past year I’ve been medicine free but I still get panic attacks everyday (heart races everyday nonstop, evil bad thoughts), and I’m ready to get back on something, my doc prescribed me celexa but I’m very unsure about trying it Bc I’ve been so used to take lexapro and I’m just wondering what ur opinion would be, thank u so much for the video also u rock!!

I’ve been taking Citalopram for 4 months ish now. The worst side effects lasted around a month and I do feel like I think less negatively so it means that it is working. BUT one side effect that still is lasting and pretty severe is contant nausea, like a carsickness but without being in a car. It’s even worse when I actually ride in busses, cars or trains. I’m really sad because I do feel less negative but the nausea alone makes me wanna quit taking it, like I feel AWFUL. What should I do? Will it go away? I heard most side effects go away after a month which it has for most mine too but not nausea, 4 months in and still feel awful. I’ve tried ginger, peppermint, acupuncture, drinking more water etc but nothing really works.
Please help me, what should I do?

I personally would ring your doctors and explain that you feel that they are helping you but you have really bad nausea! They will give you anti sickness, or ask for antisickness tablets, they work wounders, odensatron or cyclizine are the top 2 used as i had hyperimisis in my pregnancy which is extreme sickness in pregnancy from start till finish so i know exactly how you feel nauseous wise. And when your ready to come off them to see if that side effect has subsided xx

The only place you can find a lot of sick is on wind street a.k.a sin city on a weekend night. You talk way to fast not a clue what you just said you sounded like a tape deck on fast forward. Bejesus your parents must have to wear " Not listening ". Headphones. This is a good medication for anxiety and even better for the depression.

what the fuck is wrong with you, you said you take citalopram so you should be sensitive to mental health issues yet you’ve just completely negated her phobia and insulted her speaking when she struggles with anxiety and depression , which will obviously not make her feel any better. i have the same phobia as her and it’s serious just like any phobia - fun fact - PEOPLE can vomit at any time for millions of reasons and you are constantly surrounded by people. it doesn’t happen every day but it’s the fear that it COULD happen that causes constant anxiety, avoiding any form of transportation because of people with travel sickness, terrified of germs because you could become sick, theme parks , restaurants, ANYTHING. people without it will never understand how debilitating it is. use your brain.
