      Three years later, I'm new to this camera and I find that the remote app works haphazardly for me. It gets stuck at first, sometimes takes a while to connect, the first few pictures are transferred slowly, and after a while it becomes a lot smoother. No idea why.

    • @AlexandraStarr1974
      @AlexandraStarr1974 3 года назад

      @@requemao maybe you are transferring too many images at once? smartphones are good but im not sure they can handle continuously large image file transfer, even a phone with 4gb ram would struggle with 10 RAW images. Have used the app on both my huawei and pricier samsung smartphone, and it works on both makes quite well, whether thats image transfer or remote tethering!

    • @requemao
      @requemao 3 года назад +1

      @@AlexandraStarr1974 Thanks for your comment. There's the possibility that my smartphone is the problem, though. I have an iPad too, so one of these days I'll try the iPad app and see if it's smoother. It would make sense, really, because I don't see why such an app would stutter for a minute (that is after the app is loaded and connection is already established) and only become smoother later.

    The feature that allows to move the focus point while shooting through the viewfinder (at min 3:10) seems really great. It is the first time I see that and it sounds a great idea, as well as a possibly better alternative to the joystick (I hope users feedback will be good!!). It's nice to push innovation with regards to touch screen usability ; well done Fuji! I guess this feature is going to be implemented on the already announced firmware update for the x-t20 (which unfortunately is not subjected, yet ??!, to the AF-C tracking algorithm improvement that will be included to the bigger brothers x-t2 and x-pro2 firmware updates). Wish you the best Fuji and Fuji guys, you deserve it!

  • @piettravel847

    Great explanation..... will try to see if the transfers go as smooth as you show. How does the GPS geotagging work through the app?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 лет назад

      To upload the GPS coordinates to the camera you connect your device to the camera, then choose "Upload GPS". The current GPS coordinates are then uploaded and subsequent images will contain those GPS coordinates.

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 лет назад

      Here's a link to the step-by-step instructions for GPS geotagging (iOS).

    • @piettravel847
      @piettravel847 6 лет назад

      Ah... reading this again... it will only load the GPS data and then it pictures taken will get those coordinates.. I thought i would (retrospective) update the GPS data from all locations where pics were taken. In short.. you have to upload GPS data for each location where you will take pics.

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 лет назад

      Correct. Once you sync the GPS to your phone, subsequent images will have those GPS coordinates. Be on the lookout for upcoming updates that will allow you to automatically track your movement, without the need to re-sync every time you move.

    @imahnick 6 лет назад +1

    Are there settings to choose how smoothly/slowly the camera focuses in continuos Af? Also, I have heard that the X-T20 changes exposure by steps in video rather than doing it smoothly in auto. That way you can notice the exposure changing in the video footage in a unpleasant way. Is it the same with the XE-3? My last question is if the AF is the same on the XE-3 as on the X-T20? There are slight changes for the focus but will the X-T20 also get the changes later on via a firmware update?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  7 лет назад

      Adrian D. The best way to minimize the jumps in exposure is to use Auto ISO and manually adjust your shutter and aperture. At this time we are not aware whether or not we'll see the updated algorithms in future firmware updates.

  • @DavidDatura

    Does that transfer of photos to one's smartphone apply to the Fuji's RAWs too or just the JPEGs? On a side note...you still use an iPhone 4?! I didn't think that ancient one would even have the oomph to handle transfers like that! Also I don't understand why Fujifilm didn't incorporate navigation of the menus into the touchscreen function as well...touch interaction with the Q screen isn't enough.

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  5 лет назад +4

      The X-E3 uses Wi-Fi to transfer the images. By default it's a 3MP .jpg image that the camera compresses (to keep the file size manageable). If you want, there is a setting on the camera, and you can transfer the entire 24MP (as a .jpg) to your phone before uploading. Keep in mind that many social networks do significant compression when you upload to their site.

    I have a couple xt2s which I just love and use for work, one dedicated to video and as a backup the other my main body - for street photography I wanted something a little samller than the xt2 with the battery grip on it . Thus, I ordered, an xe3, great reviews, nice images using glass I already have - but man when the camera arrived was I ever dissapointed.....it feels like a super cheaply built camera - maybe since I own Leica and all metal bodies I am just not used to the feel of a camera full of plastic.....seems to work find but it just feels cheap, you drop this thing once, it will explode on the sidewalk, guaranteed man - spend the extra to get a metal body and something that is going to last twenty years if you want - I guarantee I will break this thing in less than a year, no wonder it's so cheap = cheap build - also if you have bigger hands it will feel like a child's toy, really dissapointed in the build quality , really dissapointed , almost sent it back but it was so cheap why bother.....

      still it's bothersome (same on the X-T20 or even Panasonic's Gx8)
      After all most mic's have 3.5 mm jacks which means using an adapter which is often lost, broken or a cause of disturbance in the signal.
      Sure i can live with it with ease given the sheer quality and extensive feature set Fujifilm nowadays brings at these enthusiast price levels. Unlike some other main brands......
      But it is a well argumented piece of criticism that is wide-spread. Adressing it in a future model would help make your products even better.
      keep headphone or even better a optional XLR like the GH5 on a multi purpose hotshoe to the X-T2 series. After all THAT is the professional model. But make creating fun home video's, basic youtube stuff as straightforward as possible on the enthusiast models.

    The reviewers hand and the xe3 are a complete mismatch, I wonder how many pocket cameras Fuji wants to test/market.... I was hoping to get a xe3 instead of xt20 but the news that it is smaller than xe2 means I have no interest on it, I have the original xe 1 and I liked it better over the xt20 ergo wise, it's a pity...

      If Fuji comes out with a water-proof casing, then you'd probably use it for rec diving.

    In my experience Fuji XE3 Camera Remote / Bluetooth / Wifi needs a serious upgrade. Camera does not pair with Samsung S7 . In use Camera Remote disconnects, Pairing Registration has to be deleted each time a new connection to Bluetooth / Wireless is required. On the whole very disappointing and not at all how this RUclips video portrays it. Its clunky

      So why not update the x-t20 firmware? New fast focus, record in 4K and use an external screen HD in same time, tilt screen with same touch action than xe3, just three big differences between these xt20 & xe3 it's enough for you? - Very disappointed by Fuji, purely commercial.

      Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately we are not able to comment on unreleased or future firmware. At this time, only the touch screen function to have access to the AF points is the only information on firmware
