- Tis the Halloween season and so let's try out Terraria, but it's a horror game. I guess this mod doesn't quite make it horror but if you're looking for some spook then the spooky mod has you covered. Will I be scared and run for the hills and how does this mod fit in with the October festivities? Lets find out.

That cowbell is actually an SCP. Ringing it makes a humanoid creature slowly stalk you, and kill you in your sleep. Fun times:3

Thanks for playing Spooky! Hope you enjoyed it as it is the best mod out there and nothing else is allowed to be your favorite ever again. We've worked super hard to make this mod as good as it possibly can be, and this video is probably the best I've seen of the mod, as it does a wonderful job at showing off its content.
Guess this is my favorite mod now and I can never change my mind 😂
I played this mod a while ago and I absolutely loved it, halloween is my favorite thing in the world and this mod just looked amazing, and the bosses were really cool too, good job
Question: Is the mod based on the Minecraft Halloween texture pack? Little Bone heavily reminds me of the flowers. And the chests with the eyes, too.
Does the cowbell do anything besides spawning an alternate that kills you?

The thorns from the ground look like they spawn where the previous attack's projectiles land. so it DOES have a telegraph, just a very subtle one

Man the boss unlocking parts of the dungeon is genius. I'd love a mod that uses the prospect of a single dungeon that the story of the mod is themed around.

Yes! For anyone curious, that would be SCP-513. Also titled simply: A Cowbell. Ringing it causes immediate anxiety in all who heard it, instilling them with a fear of being watched. SCP-513-1, aka The Entity, starts stalking the person to the point of sleep deprivation and self-induced death. I recognized it immediately once the bell was rung; it was a pleasant surprise!
Man, that daffodil guy is totally illustrated by Photoshop Flowey. The way he looks at you from above, has REALLY similar attack sprites and patterns makes me really happy that devs made this really cool boss👍

I think the seedling projectiles that precede the vine spikes that come out of the floor might indicate where they shoot out from.
This mod is pretty impressive, a lot of visual polish and care for presentation was put into it. It also puts a lot of effort into being a bit different from your other run of the mill content mods, what with the small events and fun boss summoning sequences.
Yeah, it was defiantly a very impressive mod :)

the cowbell is probably a reference to SCP-513, which is also a cowbell, and anyone who hears it ring will start to hallucinate a tall black humanoid creature stalking them in the corner of their eyes. This creature will wake the affected person up if they try to sleep, and the effect lasts until death.
Im watching this in pitch black at 2am. The scariest thing isn't monsters from the mod, it's when you go to the recipe or boss pages like at 17:10 and I get blinded by the light of a thousand suns without warning!

I think it'd be awesome to play this mod on the DST seed. The forbidden radio effect and the hunger and creature in the darkness. The ultimate scary mod on the ultimate scary seed.

I love how he found an broken strat and the weapon immediately gets nerfed.
Yeah, this is why I use Boss Checklist for playthroughs, many mods add weird bosses at the start of the game that have a peculiar way of spawning, so having Boss Checklist really helps.

It really is a shame they removed the death part of the scary items, now they just sort of do nothing.
If they were incredibly powerful but put you on a time limit till you die it would be much better. Add in the ability to purify them which lowers their stats to whatever gear tier you get the ability to purify them for an nice reward.
Went from true fear to truly pointless
For the instant kill effect, I would probably add a warning to them. Leave a cryptic warning for the overworld items like the bell and leave a more direct warning for items in places it would be inconvenient to die like the dungeon. Something like
“A bell radiating a sinister energy, ring and it shall toll for you.”
“A twisted rattle containing a haunting visage. Shake it to play a fatal game”
Also, make the timers before you die faster so it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Maybe even give some kind of way to survive for a powerful item, encouraging people to risk using it if only for a chance of dodging the beasts unpredictable charge
This mod seems really high quality and cool and after watching this I really wish my computer was good enough to play the mod.
This is a great mod, and I find it special because it's the first mod I tried with modded 1.4

You know for the plant boss, the thorn attack IS telegraphed, the seeds that fall immediately before are where the thorns show up. Kinda like the Marx fight in Kirby Super Star.

I tortured my friend with this, thanks... I told him "Whatever you do, don't ring the cowbell, it is an SCP, and SCP's are unpredictable anomalies, with seemingly random effects." ... He was running low on gold ore to finish his golden house since he was now using the ore above gold, and he was like "I know he told me not to do this, but at the same time, it's random right?" so betting on red turning up black, he rang it!!!! Hahahahahahahaa!!
