AWESOME JOB - well done!! You have inspired me to do my own cabinets. There is so much wasted space when you have a few plates or cups on the bottom of a cabinet and nothing else!!
They’re great, well done. And there is space under the bottom drawer where some trays, cutting boards or baking trays could be stored too 😃. Subscribed 👍🏻. ❤
I was happy to see the process. I agree with others discouraging particle board. Spills, someone standing on it to reach something up high, etc and the whole thing is landfill. Again, though, love the design, the process and your enthusiasm. Thank you.
Great masters in any profession no matter the skill, begin making tons and tons of mistakes. You ate not alone but for the first time you did pretty good.
Clearly, you are not a beginner since you have all the tools and not beginner tools either. The Ikea hacks work for you and you customized them wonderfully. I would love to see you make a custom pull-out organizers for the blind corner upper and lower cabinets that are approximately 12" x 29" and 26" x 29" respectively for old 1960s kitchen cabinets. Also, I tried to click on your links for beginner saw and landed on a style page instead of a product page.
They're affiliate links and are all broken for me too...I wish she wrote out the names of the tools so that we can still google search for them even when the links don't work anymore.
My dad made pull-out drawers for my kitchen cabinets. It was the first time he did that kind of project. He made the drawers from scratch using a hammer and nails. I don't remember what he used to cut the wood. Maybe a circular saw. So yes, this project can be done by a beginner with minimal tools. If you don't want to buy any tools, don't DIY.
Great job. I would have probably have added a bead of construction adhesive to make it sturdier, also I might have put one of the rails at the bottom to make sure it could hold a lot of weight.
This looks great, and I really like that you designed something that works perfectly for you. I do hope it holds together over the long term. Nails in particle board...no glue...I don't think it will. When I build something, I want it to last YEARS, and be able to take abuse. I would have used plywood and dimensional lumber, screws and glue. I do really hope I'm wrong. I hope it lasts. Maybe you're not as hard on things as I am. However, if any part of it breaks, you can always replace that part with different materials later. At least you did it; sometimes I overthink things and never get them done.
Thanks!! It’s been up for 7 months and no issues yet. I wanted to make this as something anyone can build. Let’s see how long it lasts 🤞🏼 What’s another way other than pocket holes that anyone can do? I tried screws but in particle board it didn’t hold.
🇬🇧Heads up most people who do a bit of diy and would like to do this wouldn’t 1 have a work shop like that and most certainly NOT have a nail gun hanging around
You are a genius and Godsend! You are out here doing the Lord's work saving people like me tons of money. Thank you so much. Say thank you to you parents for me for raising a genius.
I know this video is about retrofitting cabinets and drawers (and that's what I'm here for) but I'm obsessed with that mustard-colored shirt you're wearing 10 min in! Where did you get it??
I was hoping to see drawers with no doors. I have drawers inside of doors and it's frustrating. They are twice the effort to open and bang the doors if not open all the way.
You can totally do that. It would require taking the doors off, filling the holes from the hinges and getting a paint match for your cabinets. I don’t mind the doors because overall the kitchen looks seamless cuz the doors all match still
I could totally see that would make sense and be efficient as well (I got toddlers who like slamming doors lol). But I see how you would like it seamless and uniform throughout.
"They would have used a nice wood, not plywood." LOL No, a good quality cabinet builder WOULD have used PLYWOOD, not melamine like IKEA. Cabinet grade plywood is far superior to particle board with a melamine layer on top. That aside this is a pretty good hack!
I stopped watching at that point. This video is 7 months old, I'm curious if those nails are still holding firm. Maybe today but how about in seven years?
@@Hanasdiyhome Thanks for your response. Personally I don't think there's a whole lot of strength in a joint that is nailed but I may be wrong and it may be fine...

That makes me so happy!! You can do it!!!
This project turned out awesome! Thanks for the perfect amount of detail, explanation, and focus. Subscribed!
You’re so welcome!!! It’s been such a help for me! I hope it is for you too!
This is great. My last house had drawers all over the kitchen, and I miss it terribly. I need to do this.

Way to go lady! You are an inspiration!
Awesome! Perfect if you don't have the money for new wood, or if you value the environment!

thanks for your honesty and excitement of having something that you created work out! It's such a buzz.
I’ve had this for a year and still have the same excitement for this!! It’s so handy
I'm in the process of remaking my cabinets and adding storage. Thank you great tutorial. Subscribed😊
Amazing. I’ve had this for a year and love it. Kitchen storage is so necessary!!!
Awesome video! Guess I will be checking out ikea drawers. Thanks for the help ❤

Yes we need name for all the tools
Great job! I love going to the Ikea section with all the misc cabinet parts, that's what I used to make all my slide outs too!
Oh good idea! I should have checked their discounted section “we made too much!”
Thank you for making it simple for those of us who are not skilled enough 😊
I love how excited you got! 😂
just the video I’ve been looking for. 👍🏽 looks good
Glad I could help
Great job. I would have probably have added a bead of construction adhesive to make it sturdier, also I might have put one of the rails at the bottom to make sure it could hold a lot of weight.
After using this for a year, I think a rail at the bottom would have been helpful too. Thanks for the positive feedback!

So going to do this on some Home Depot Hampton Bay Ready to Assemble Cabinets. Thanks for the Hack and subscribed.
You’re welcome!! It’s been working great for 3 years
This is a fantastic video! thanks for the tutorial.
Fantastic!! I am encouraged to attempt the same, Prem from Oz
Loved this! You are so real
Howdy! Love your videos! I think some of the links in this one might need updating?
Sis you so did that justice!!!!!!!
How exciting!!! Well done!!!
Doesn’t kitchen organization make you SO HAPPY!!!
Awesome idea!!!
Good job so proud of you

Awww that means so much!! My dad taught me to DIY and he passed away last year. That means so much to me ❤️
🎉Beautiful job!!! Where did you purchase the trim tool to make the band material flush with the drawers??
It’s from Home Depot. It’s called an edge trimmer
I know this video is about retrofitting cabinets and drawers (and that's what I'm here for) but I'm obsessed with that mustard-colored shirt you're wearing 10 min in! Where did you get it??
I’m here for it!! It was a thrift find! So cute right 🥰🥰
Is there a way to do this without using pocket holes? I don't have all of those extra tools. :(
For the drawers, could you link to the sliders/runners you used?
They come with the IKEA PAX drawers!
Nice work
Thanks!! My kitchen feels so organized
What do you call that green thing youve been using is it a hammer drill or somethin?

What’s the name of the ikea drawer?
IKEA komplement drawers. You can also use the Sektion drawers if they suit your size better
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is really great just don't have the tools and our hardware stores will not cut anything under 12 inches. 😒
I didn’t have any tiny pieces. It’s all bigger cuts for this one (depending on your cabinet depth)
Check to see if you have a Tool Library in your area. We have one that lets you borrow tools or use their workshop.
The floor is not the ground. Unless you don’t have a floor then you have a dirt floor. I doubt it.
I am not sure what this is referring to?
@@Hanasdiyhomeignore this troll. You Susan awesome job.
Omg. The awful music! Make it stop. 🛑
Sorry... but that's just botch... nailing chipboard... oh no!!!

It’s def still holding up. No issues at all
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. There’s lots of ways to make drawers. This is still standing strong

So you just came here to criticize? That's not helpful. Maybe you should start your own channel to share all your great tips.🙄
The most annoying accent on earth, I struggle to go through this video..
Go find another tutorial 🙄
shame on you, nothing better to do than be a bully?
