WHO WE ARE
In 2015 we quit our lives in the city to buy bare land in the country and build a timber frame home from scratch with our bare hands, debt-free, with no prior experience. It’s been a wild ride of ups, downs, highs, lows, rain and rainbows, but we haven’t lost sight of our goals and have gotten further in three years than we thought we’d get in ten. Join us as we build our house, develop our rural property, practice traditional skills such as gardening and food preservation and go to even greater heights (literally) of exploring the world through aviation as a new private pilot!

Can't wait for you to "upgrade" your life with siding! Maybe if y'all take this quarantine time to finish the rough electrical and foaming on the upstairs you can get siding up!
ever going to go back to house videos?
Well your videos are getting a little better. Maybe one day they'll be back to where they used to be.
Just curious what you liked before that you feel like your missing?
Glad to see you again. You’re an inspiration; we missed you :)
No their not
14:55 hard to understand why you think you would need 9 pocket hole screws to attached that center divider
Tornados, volcanoes, earthquakes? You never know...
i noticed this too, i bet it was a practice piece that he repurposed, maybe ? I hope
Go back and watch the vids, you will have your answer...
@@jedidiah5131 You seem like you know these guys quite well, so I have a question if you don't mind. What is the actual reason they have not put a protective wrap on the house in over 400 days? If it is vecause other work if first required, then why are they not doing that instead of cabinet videos? Thanks.
CHRIS WILLIAMS . Jedidiah is Jessy.
Congrats on getting to a point where you can live with minimal external inputs, and debt free.
I like the adaptation but to be honest I am more interested in the sip progress kinda losing interest but am really glad you guys are looking great. Hopefully you guys are resting for summer efforts
I really enjoy your videos. You obviously put loads of editing and filming time into them. Thank you for that.
Hip hip hooray! You have returned. So happy to see you both. Also heard someone in the background.
happy for new content, but 20 min to explain one drawer :/
For those who are wanting to replicate the idea, sometimes you need that extra bit of info to be successful. You can always skip ahead.
looking forward to more building content
could I make a suggestion to the drawer? maybe make a raised shelf for the compost bin/bucket... 2 things.. one.. less bend over.. and 2 gain extra storage below the bin .. just a thought
Or use a bigger hammer, I mean bucket
Nooooo - we don't need another 20 minute cabinet drawer shelf adjustment video!
.i am glad to see you back with new ideas. As usual you have the people who criticize every thing you do. no matter what the project is..
scott holman They comment on how poor the content is but yet still click to watch... if their time is that valuable they should probably spend it doing something else lol. It does amuse me to see them come out every video though.
how about some videos showing work on your house
You just watch one...😇
@@jansoderman8550 Not really, this is a garage video !
@@nickjm37fordel1 as the garage is integrated in the house, it's a house video
@@dalecherry4044 Nope!
Can’t wait to see some updates on this years garden!!
Working hard to not work on the house.
AF Major facts
I'd rather work on a house than in the office
Too many advertisements anymore
Alyssa!! Love the new haircut!! Very classy, yet still fun :)
Love the new video, too, thank you for sharing, it's really nice to see your smiling faces ;)
I love you trash drawer and plan on putting one for the bath vanity I am fixing to build.
The upgrade part to push open is called tip-on. The blumotion is the soft close part. Sorry guys but these videos are not what they used to be!
How are the wall panels holding up ? and the floor wormboard?
Consider adding an angle support from the top of the drawer box to the back side top of the door to eliminate the lever action you introduce by pulling at the top of the door.
Yes I do agree with this, or could have made the left drawer side higher or on a angle down from front to back.
we need to see both of you in one picture to make sure you both living together
Well in the part where someone is recording her (before she is holding it herself), it's either jessie, some one else or a very wobbly tripod. I'm guessing its jessie.
good to see you back with some building content ;)
Thank you for putting out content again, love watching your journey! It is my little break from reality which I think we all need a break from these days!
The false drawer held up with magnets is dangerous especially with those handles that get trapped into your pockets. If someone pushes it to open, it would fall right on their feet
I have seen all your videos the first one was when you traded your new car for the ford pick what was that fours years or so its been great its been fun growing with you take care
dynorat12 us too
I like that video way better than that dust collectors / how to (not) save money nonsense. Keep it up and stay healthy.
This was very useful, but I wonder if you could clarify what you did to make sure the door was aligned. I didn’t quite follow what you meant by over drilling the holes?
Those handles will catch on EVERYTHING! been using that style here in Europe for years. Do yourself a favor, you should have spare materials and paint (I always keep spares for all of my cabinets wether for home or rentals) Make a new panel for that center sink section. Skip the handle and use magnets to fasten as you have already done. You could glue two small squares of wood on the sink with a dowel rod on each which will fit into holes on that piece to help center it.
I'll admit that I disliked the last few videos, but I gave this one a thumbs up! I'm glad to see this type of video back!
Glad to see you 3 are back to show us more for your buck or more out of cabnet space an more room. Thanks bunches for sharing this with all of us who believe in what you have been showing.
Love Your Videos. Please don't ever stop! So much great ,fun information. Blessings to you
Nice to see it finished , pity it took 2 months to show us.
LOVE the trash can video. I too put my trash under the sink but used a ready-made system. I LOVE yours, especially the easy open with a knee! You are right in that both hands are usually wet with who-knows-what dripping from them and that little upgrade is GENIUS!
So happy to see another video from you guys!
Are you going to do any updates on how things are going in 2021?
Love the coffee machine upgrade. Looks well on.your lovely new kitchen.
👋👏👍Hoping to see more from you. I like most people who watch your videos, I believe, have missed and worried about you guys. And happy birthday to the kid. Even though I like everyone else I believe dosen't know his(?) birthday it has been more than a year now. 👶🖖
Nice! You could move the compost bin further up, for easier reachability.
Push that door one more time, with such a force, and I swear....LOL
Build a plate rack over the sink. I did that with mine and added a light you turn on and off with a hand wave underneath.
Mine was very wide, so you could not buy one to fit.
Where did you purchase your push out hardware?
I would like to know too.
He doesn’t say where he purchased.
Made by Blum. He said it.
I am glad your back. Getting bored being home and being quarantined
Is there not a kitchen upstairs? Give us a tour. Please
@@rincantsleep Actually I think they ran out of talent to complete the project. After watching them with the electric and the bathroom it was really apparent they were way out of their depth.
A pull out shelf under a sink using a door as a drawer front is a pretty standard feature on kitchen cabinets these days, not quite sure why this became a 20 minute video.
cabinets look awesome a lot of work but well worth it,welcome back? ALISSA
Alyssa
Very nice idea . So nice things are coming together so nice for you.
How is it a life hack when most kitchen companies sell this as a standard.
its a HACK if you dont already have it,and yes being a plumber i see lots that do have it as a door with basket/bucket on the door or a bin inside when you open door but not the same as this or or orrrrr just nothing and empty space ..so a hack if needed in one that does not have it
E.L.E. Jacky Moon~ "Everybody love Everybody ".
Done for you drawer = ready made 🙂 enjoyed your video
I relly like the trash can idea.
Did this a number of years ago. Great idea.
Happy you are all back !!
If you don't have a window in front of the sink, there is no reason to have that wasted space, your face never will hit that cabinet unless you trying to do so, also it can be a double door cabinet with waterproof interior and install a dish drying rack and make some channeling holes directly under to drip water to the sink.
hey guys hope you are doing fine :)
its a nice video, i like the music in the beginning
id love to see the progress on the house
have a nice day and stay healthy .. covid-19 and all
Really nice job on the DIY cabinets. Very professional looking.
Neat solution for needed drawer. Any plans for space above sink -- shelf?
why don't you try to put a hinge on the bottom of the false door and tabs on the holder to keep it from opening too much and use the magnets to keep it closed for the rack under the sink?
That's a creative way to put on a faux front on the sink.
Great choice of ideas
Nice to see a proper video again.
So glad to see Alissa smiling again and getting over the PPD...
Elliott Manning What is PPD?
What is the name of the under mount slides?
What are you doing with the up stares all these months have you gotten anywhere
Well, they added a tiny human to their inventory, that is quiet a big and time consuming acquisition.
However in all seriousness, I totally approve, that they keep this part off camera.
Nice, we have a can that sits in the middle of the floor and the kids are always knocking it over.
Pretty cool stuff guys.....JJ....
Cool idea you all come up with. Thanks for showing us this.
Glad to see you guys are back can’t wait to see more videos
😃 back to what you do best.
So for cordless do you prefer the dewalt over Milwaukee I notice you use the dewalt more have you had any issues with dewalt 887
So glad to see you back. Was really worried after reading some of the things online.
You know how that goes !
Look fwd to more videos !!!!!
Lack of communication / transparency usually spawns rumours. Not that much of it has been cleared up, but at least the house doesn't seem to have burnt down ...
It must be true, it’s on the internet. 😎😎😎👍👍👍
$20 the next video is about cabinets.
Great video! Thanks for sharing❗❗❗ 🙂🙂🙂 👍👍👍
Yea! You both are back and doing a house project or in this case utility kitchen cabinet trash drawer. 👏👏👏👍😎
Why is it a magnet?
No explanation??
No subscribe!!
Do the storage tray on the door, not the drawer?
Really nice idea. Glad you enjoy your new cabinets!
I'm glad to see y'all back. I was actually worried for you.
love y guys
Great job 👏🏼
how/where is the drawer slide on the right attached?
Nice faux front on the sink cover. You mentioned you were trying to figure out a way to keep the front centered. By now, you've probably thought of this, but four short wedges could align the front, and still remain hidden. One recessed each side, and two recessed at the bottom. The area looks great, and should last a very long time.
Need a link to the express machine please.
I would have built a little shelf with raised edges for the sponge basket.
14:37 haha still got the masking tape on...
sorry not watching any more of your videos... old stuff re-edited.
Thanks Guys in the middle of doing this my self some fantastic tips thank you
i am gald to see Alissa whit a smile and i fell she feel much better
I love that idea for the garbage!
Install a over-sink dying rack for dishes. Just wash the dishes and put them above the sink to drip dry into the sink.
May hit your head as you work
IKEA has a fold-down stainless steel version.
Can i ask if you are going to post more videos again
You just watch one....😇
you could have used double-sided tape to do the alignment!
I have a question Is it an American thing to wash clothes in the kitchen? I have never seen that in my country.
No but it is very common in the UK
That's not the kitchen. That's the laundry room in the garage
That was great hope your doing well
I like what you came up with. Pretty slick!!
hi, just a thought, any plans to make use of that space above the sink, i.e. open cupboards perhaps?
Pretty slick! 👍
Nice
Well done Jesse! 👍😁
Really a joke. This is like 30 year old design idea for a pullout trash bin under the sink. Sad.
Yeah, the 'hack' is to buy the product that is in every kitchen showroom
Thank you every comment helps...Cha ching!
@@jedidiah5131 I think you may have missed my last comment, do you know why they have not put a protective wrap on the house in nearly two years? If other stuff needs doing before they can, why are they not doing that instead of vanity projects? Cheers from England
You know if you don't have something nice to say, maybe you just shouldn't say anything.
@@jedidiah5131 Are you now not even pretending that you are someone other than Jesse?
