Yes it really takes a toll on your hands and make them stronger quickly. But unless you frequently climb pinchy routes, I would still advice in doing some thumb exercises.
What about boxing for getting thicker hands? When you throw punches, especially with proper technique and form, you engage the muscles in your hands, including those in your fingers, palms, and wrists. These muscles help to generate power and control your punches. Additionally, holding and maneuvering boxing gloves during training sessions can also provide resistance and further engage the muscles in your hands.
