Good job Lisa!! I helped my parents do our brick patio back in the seventies, its hard work,we went to a demo sight and picked the bricks ,loaded them into our station wagon! Good times! Brings back memories! Its beautiful! Love it!!
Looks amazing!!! This is a project I would have attempted 20 or 30 years ago. Now in my 50s, I hire someone 😅 My patience and body (knees) aren’t what they used to be. I’m so impressed by your abilities!! Beautiful work ❤ Thanks for sharing with us!!
I turn 73 in a week and understand where you are coming from. I decided to paint my entire house this summer and hoped and prayed I could do it, just like I did 18 years ago with my mother. I guess I did a good job, my neighbor who is a painter, told his son, "I might have to hire her!" Thank God I am retired!!!!
Very helpful video. I was just at Lowe’s and bought a panel to do some research for putting down a patio. Your video has such great step by step information that it gives me confidence to use this method. Thank you
Wow! Your video was great and honestly made me think about doing this project. I too have wanted the herringbone pattern because it is such a special look, the entire math thing just really threw me for a loop however, so I may have to ask for help on that. You made me laugh as I could see myself in you, wanting everything to be perfect, when everyone around you is telling you "it's fine, looks good" and your mind is going crazy trying to figure out how you are going to perfect it, when no one is looking! My mother had the same "illness," Lol!! You are blessed with a great husband who gets in there right with you and that truly is a blessing! When my husband and I married, our first Christmas, in our first home, my gifts consisted of a tool belt and tools as I was all in on fixing everything myself, but my husband didn't know how....he does now!
Thanks! It was a big project, but definitely doable. The herringbone is my favorite part 🤩 Yes, my husband is such a good balance for my perfectionist tendencies. 😅
Very nice. I'm planning on doing a 10x12 this weekend for the grill, and the dog's pool. The place where they are now is just on dirt, so it gets real messy when it rains. I think I'll be doing a basketweave pattern.
Dremel Max is a good tool for sawing hard surfaces. I have used it when repairing bathroom floor tile areas. In fact, your obsession over slope reminds me of my tile project, and turns out, my floor was more perfectly level than the pro job I was fixing! Go us!! My husband has been talking about creating a paver patio at the storage area under the deck. I'm sure he will like this product, and I'm sharing this video with him. When he and I team up on a project, the kids always feel obligated to joke: how many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
Nice work!! I feel like that angle grinder is more dangerous than a wet saw would be and you did greatl. You could have someone squirt the brick with a spray bottle as you're cutting as well, that helps minimize dust.
How is it holding up after many years? are there any weeds popping up between pavers? Any displacement /movement of pavers because they were directly laid on brock panels?
What a great tutorial…well done and nice job. Please, Please, Please don’t wear sandals or running shoes when laying the pavers. Safety shoes are the way to go! Safety first. Again, great tutorial and nice job. On with the next project. 😁
A very nicely done video. Step-by-step and very informative. However, using PAPER PANELS, which are NOT durable, may compromise all that sweat and effort a couple of years later.
“…panel not necessary…” Putting the pavers on only 1/2-inch sand base would not work. The whole value of the panel is not excavating and filling with 3-5 inches of rock and sand.
Why is nobody helping you. I started a project myself going on two months 90ft x 7ft then 50ft x 10ft with 235 ft of drainage. 35ft french drain & 200 ft of soild drainage catch basin drainage. Two service ports & 9 drainage points. Still not finished. With no help. A axe pick a few wheel barrels & 1k worth of tools.

Great memories, Arlene! I am looking forward to enjoy it for many years to come.
It looks great. Interior Designers are, by nature, perfectionists. It's a blessing, and a curse.
Yes, I worked for an Interior Designer who had Redi-Shades up for 15 Years in his home!
So true! That’s why it’s good to have someone else in your life that can balance that out. 🤦♀️
Oh gosh 🫣

I hear ya! We had to take it in smaller increments. It was a lot of work, but it was doable. Thanks! 😊

Glad it was helpful! Our patio is holding up so nicely and I love it! 🤩 Good luck with your project!
I think it looks fantastic! The pattern is really pretty and looks so good! You're going to enjoy that space for years to come! Gorgeous job! 😊❤
I agree! I am really looking forward to fall. We finished it just in time for summer, but now it's too hot to sit out there!
Such added value to your property, looks very professional! Impressive that you guys tackled this.
Thanks Heidi! We are pleased with how it turned out!
It turned out great. I love that. You’re such a hard worker And take so much pride in your home.😊
Thanks so much! 😊
The results are impressive! You saved a ton of money doing the work yourselves.
Thank you! Yes! We saved a ton of money 😬
Your video is very instructional. Compare to hiring someone to do it, what would you say are the savings? Thanks
Thanks! It’s hard to say since I never got a quote. Others have said it would have been 3-5K. I think my costs were about $1100.

Yall did such a great job!!😮🤩👏Like you, I always love a herringbone pattern. It turned out so good. I hope y’all enjoy the space.
Thanks girl, we love it! 🙌🏼😊
Love all the details you added! I'm about to install my sidewalk now, and your video was the best with the Brock paver system.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck on your project 🙌🏼
So awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've often wondered if it would be something I could do. Now i know! Thanks Lisa.
You are so welcome! It’s totally doable!
Great informative video, straight to the point, and good finished product. The herringbone would have looked terrible; too busy. What you did is nice.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
I like that pattern better! Great job! Your backyard space is a nice oasis…so pretty & relaxing. 🦋
Thank you! We love it! 🌹🪻🌸

I need to check out the Dremel Max. Ha, good for you! I think we just take more care since it’s our project!
Wow, nice job, looks awesome. 😊❤
Thank you! 😊
Such a great video, like the way you found slope!
@@Braddy_Daddy thanks! 😊

Probably 😅 I was working solo at that point, but that is a good suggestion. Thanks! 😊
You guys did a great job! Looks amazing! 🎉🎉
Thanks Marilyn! We love it!
Awesome Brick Patio Idea Lisa Looks Nicely Done
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
You’ve done a great job and thank you for sharing
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
This looks awesome! thank you for the info!
Our pleasure! We love it!
How is it holding up after many years? are there any weeds popping up between pavers? Any displacement /movement of pavers because they were directly laid on brock panels?
I just laid it down this year, but so far everything is perfect 👍🏼
Really beautiful!
Thanks, Charlene! 🫶
Very nicely done.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Nice job!
Thanks! 😊 🙌🏼
Great video, learned a lot. Why, though, were there two damn commercials every three minutes? RUclips, get it together!!!!
Yikes! That’s a lot, sorry! I’m glad you liked it though. 🙌🏼😊
Looks Great. Iido not know how you can stand that traffic noise .It’s really loud. ❤
It sounds worse when I speed up the video, but it’s not too bad in real life. We actually like it better than having back neighbors. 😅
What a great tutorial…well done and nice job. Please, Please, Please don’t wear sandals or running shoes when laying the pavers. Safety shoes are the way to go! Safety first. Again, great tutorial and nice job. On with the next project. 😁
Thank you! Yes, it’s a bad habit. 😬

The plastic paver panels? We’ll see. 😊
Cool
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
How much does the material cost for this project?
Just under $1000. I was able to buy the bricks off season for $.25 each. That saved a few hundred dollars.
Paver panel not necessary. Just another product to buy. Looks great.
Thanks! 😊
“…panel not necessary…” Putting the pavers on only 1/2-inch sand base would not work. The whole value of the panel is not excavating and filling with 3-5 inches of rock and sand.
You can put down three layers of barrier and those weeds will still come one day.
Bermuda grass grows better than anything else in my garden 🤣
@@ivylane-home I bet it does lol. Squirrels grow best in mine. I have more barbed wire around my plants than a concentration camp.
@@_JimmyBeGood 😅🫣🙌🏼
Upgrade us in a year on how it's holding up.
Will do 🙌🏼
Use edge of board Not the flat. That is why u are getting dragging away of sand. Too much surface pulling.
Gotcha 👍🏼 We have another project next spring so I’ll keep that in mind 🙌🏼

Good luck with your project 🍀
ZOWIE GIRL! WHAT CAN YOU NOT DO? LOOKS TERRIFIC!
Thanks Kay! Well, I’m up for trying about anything. My husband did a lot of the heavy lifting on this project 💪🏼
