You’ve gotta hand it to Dodge: Still giving us insane cars and with a manual!!
Hopefully people keep buying the manual... If not they will phase it out eventually.. They hanged on to the manual pick up trucks until last year (on the diesel with the cummins option) but now it will be just automatic :(
I know manuals will die out eventually but hopefully not for a while longer.. Even ford will stop making the mustang in a manual.
@@k3iler05 That's Why They Charge For It
@@k3iler05 fortunately they share the transmission with GM (V8 Camaro's use the same trans, Tremec TR6060), so it's not just on Dodge if they keep it around
@@k3iler05 current take rate for the Getrag MT82 in Mustang GT's is 50%, very high compared to the rest of the industry, so as long as Mustangs continue to use Internal Combustion Engines, they'll still offer a manual (20% manual rate for the EcoBoost Mustangs for those curious)
If they were only reliable I'd probably get one. Dodge products suck. Very nice looking cars but crappy cars.

I’m a hard core Chevy guy, but I love that Dodge kept true to the muscle car!
they kept true to not having a design dept for 12 years
@@Strata1R it still looks like a muscle car
@@gtasanandreascluckinbell even the 6th generation Camaro still looks decent (why I picked it up, own an 18 SS 6 Speed). Not a fan of S550 Mustangs though, and I owned 3 S197's, one of which was a GT, all 3 were 6 speeds

@@gtasanandreascluckinbell I think the SS and ZL1 still look like real Camaro's, the V6 and Turbo 4 models don't as much due to different styling (especially since 2019)
Say it with me... "It is the last, of the muscle cars!" Amen! Everyone else is just wearing a name tag. All still great cars but Dodge is truly the sole automaker that is still embodiment of its origins!
Have you not driven a new mustang v8? (any of them)
@@ctvwrest not the newest. Same with the ZL1 and C8. They all are fantastic cars and kick ass in several ways. I love them as well. They just are new cars baring a classic car name. The Challenger look/ feels like original era muscle without all the bad #$#@ we hated about the originals. It's updated but just oozes that classic look/feel. It truly embodies the actual definition of a classic muscle car.
Challenger is sticking to what defined muscle cars in the past. I think it's time to redefine what muscle cars are; and I think the Camaro and Mustang are trying to do just that.
Dodge isn’t all American anymore Italian Chrysler owns dodge so camero and mustang and gmc gets it
ENG Deity no thanks. Had all all three and the stang and Camero gave me nothing but problems and recalls. I love my scatpack. 54000 kms with absolutely no issues. Love this car.

Big, loud, fast and clumsy. That's why I love it.
Dunno where you get "clumsy" from. I've been driving mine for a year and it's anything but that. But "big, loud, and fast"... it's all that in spades. It's the kind of driving experience that makes great memories and also makes you completely forget about how much fuel it consumes.
@@bill392 When I say clumsy, I'm referring to the handling characteristics, judging by what was said in this video. That's not a downside to me at all, though. I love the Challenger for what it is, there's nothing else out there like it!. Happy for you to own such a car.
@@bill392 Compared to my GT350 they are clumsy. Knew someone with a demon those are bad ass.

I have one of these in Octane Red, fully optioned, and with the SRT Barracuda spoiler. It's my daily and I just adore it. By far, the best car I've ever owned. Had to get the glass tinted dark right away, sunroof tinted too, because it was getting too hot from the sun. Now it's no issue. Stock exhaust note is amazing. This car launches like a catapult and turns like it's on rails. The brakes are remarkable too. People who say "it's only good in a straight line" are clueless. Big & heavy, can't deny that but I don't care. I friggen love it. It's roomy and comfy and a great cruiser.
How much did you bought?
These guys are so underrated.
They should have easily over a Million subs
Sprut3 very underrated
It’s painful that somehow straightpipes has more subs.
They are stupid and need to know their products
Check thestrightpipes ! Also Canadian duo weirdly similar
Widebody scat seems like the sweet spot with handling and horsepower……for a challenger
I feel like if your actively looking for a Challenger that handles well you need some help lol
Nah that's a Camaro or Mustang if u want that
Braden Marcera 😂
When you can get a non widebody hellcat for less, this scat pack makes no sense.
Antonio Hakim Mustangs cant handle either you take a turn and you spin out and do a whole 360 degree spin, their suspension are terrible. If you look for a good handling muscle car you get a Camaro ZL1 1LE.
“A bag of poop!?” Had me dying in the first 10 seconds.
I had to play it back a couple times!

“It’s a challenger it’s supposed to be big and dumb”😂😂😂
Biggest surprise of 2020 for me....I'm feeling myself drawn to Dodge products. Between this and the Durango SRT, well...I'm intrigued. Strong work Dodge.
They've been stepping it up.. It's just pure American bad assness of pushing out big V8s while they still can haha.
Long live the naturally-aspirated engine!
You are so RIGHT!!! guess I’m getting old (66) but I hate the whine of supercharger , I know I know 707 797 but love to hear the roar of the beast
@@randypleva2397 I'm young, and I don't think I've ever liked them (sound of the supercharger) I think I'm more of a fan of the turbos or blowoff valve sound :D. I thought I was alone in disliking or finding it a bit annoying (supercharger whine). I can't really afford the HC either way but I'm happy with the choice of SPWB whenever I get to buying it. I will try to get it in a manual :) It will be a big upgrade from a stock 5spd civic with like 112hp haha.
@@k3iler05 it’s great knowing people still love to hear the roar of NA engines. Plus scat packs I’ve seen 179mph to 182 mph . Never had mine up that far just 131 still had pedal left , HC what 200 210? So not to shabby for a NA . Love my scat

Pulled up at the dealership at the perfect time . Drove a ‘20 regular R/T. It was fun.
Went to leave and saw a crowd around the 22 Scat pack wide body.
Salesman was itching to take it out , but none of the customers looking at it could drive a manual shift . I spoke up from the back, “I can “
Threw me the keys and said let’s go light this mf up !
And we did . Had 6 miles on it , 30 or so when we got back.
Now I want one .
I fully agree with the conclusion, the Charger 392 widebody is my favorite also. If you stay conservative with the options sheet, it's a hell of a car for the money and more usable than the Hellcat version too...
“A familiar 3.5 inches” Yea but my wife says it’s definitely bigger and there’s no need to measure.....the fenders.
The bodies in the basement said it’s only 1inch
I’m offended
Oh man it's really stunning car, the manual transmission, the NA engine, and the fact that it is a pure muscle car, everything about this car is fascinating.
The actual "F8" fighter wasn't a jet, but was actually way more appropriate for analogies to this car. The last Grumman piston engine fighter (2000HP) before they switched to jets. Insane torque. Big 4 blade prop. Tail dragger. Can you imagine the right rudder it demanded on takeoff? Manly and brutal. Lots of parallels to the Dodge muscle car lineup.

@@wesleyrice2138 There was the Vought F8 Crusader jet that was almost too big to be a fighter... That's kinda appropriate to the Challenger too!

Freudian slips and great unbiased analysis.......best car reviewers on RUclips! Great job guys!
I love how the platform on which these cars are based was adapted from the late-90s E-class during the DaimlerChrysler days and it's still being used to strap 800 horsepower onto it. And the LX platform isn't being replaced for years to come, so long live the muscle king
You guys are actually RUclips’s Top Gear. Every episode is funny, thorough, well written, expertly shot & edited. Top notch gentlemen!
I just love your videos! Your energy, your banter... Its all great! Keep it up James and Thomas!

Finally reviewers that specify which CURRENCY it is for the price they state on videos. Clears things up a lot.
The way they describe this car. Is nearly exactly how I would describe my grandpas 67’ Dodge Dart GT with a 377 Hemi in it. This car lives up to its roots
6.4 N/A V8 and a manual transmission sounds like a lot of fun!

People clown the MOPAR parking brakes because they’re like old truck brakes, but personally I love floor-mounted parking brakes. The KICK to put it on, and the satisfying THUNK when you pull the handle will never get old. Definitely beats any electronic brakes out there
You guy's need your own TV show. Your openings and reviews are just awesome!

OMGGGGGG I’ve been waiting for this ever since i began watching y’all !!!!
After driving both the challenger and charger, i completely agree tbh.
You guys are really hitting your stride with these reviews... and jokes. Good stuff.
I absolutely love naturally aspirated engines. Besides, 400 to 500 horsepower is enough for me. Great review guys!
The is the most realistic kar guy answer I’ve seen… don’t no the difference in aspiration but I hear about it enough in super kars… so to see someone who gets it but say 4-5 is good enough is dope
Finally a decent review on a scat pack! Thanks throttle house!
I just drove this car not expecting it to be great and I was blown away. I had one for a day and enjoyed every minute in the car.
Hands-down the channels best review of a car I could not disagree with a single thing that was said. And the Best thing about dodge performance is they are never trying to be something they’re not! Long live the dodge charger and challenger
I would never own one (even if I had the money), but that car is absolutely GORGEOUS and will look SO iconic in 20-30 years! The color is luscious perfection - elegant and handsome without being loud. With the manual transmission, I think this will prove to be among the most collectible of 21st century muscle cars.
Yes.... Scat Pack Review 🔥🔥🔥
Just made me fall in love with my Challenger all over again.
I OPENLY loudly gasped when it was revealed to be a manual!!!!! Be still my heart!
The original Challenger was classified as an E body while the larger (then 2 door) Charger was part of the Dodge/Plymouth B body family. The original Super Bee 🐝 was a B body Plymouth coupe with standard 440 cubic inch engine rated at 375hp. Glad to see FCA continuing these naming/badging traditions from the original muscle car era. Great review, guys, and I agree that the Charger is an overall better package.
Lolololololol you guys are hilarious.

I have the active cruise control. I have used it 4 times in 4 years. Too much fun passing people to use it.
Watching this with my 2020 Charger Widebody Scat Pack parked in the driveway hella proud - no way it handles better cuz this Charger scoots so easily but that Sport Mode downshift into 1st gear at a light is amazing
Another great video guys. The skit made me laugh as always
We need more blooper reels, the ending was hilarious 🤣
I love that the Camaro and Mustang handle well but I absolutely love Dodge for staying true to what a muscle car is
Thanks for that very fun, enjoyable review! I originally thought the "F8" paint color related to the Fujita Tornado scale... you know how the sky often turns a greenish color before a tornado strikes... but apparently that scale only goes from F0 to F5, so I was wrong. I think it would have been cooler if they had named it F5 for that reason. Gotta love Dodge for continuing to build these beasts! Everybody gives them a hard time for keeping them around for SO long, but you can't argue with success. They're still selling like crazy - even with the stupid-high prices. They are definitely the last of the true "muscle cars".
F8 green is actually an OG challenger color from the late 60’s/early 70’s. That’s why
I just bought one last week . Widebody shaker and I love this car . The sound is amazing and so much fun to drive

James, always say "raw" and "roar" in every episode 😂😂😂
especially here in Germany it is really something special. I had VW, Audi ect before. But from the first test drive I fell in love with the Challenger. curves.... I don't think the scat is that bad. Yes, you notice the astronomical weight, but especially in sport mode it becomes hard as a board. Did I mention I love him? I also had software done, lower airbox from the hellcat, larger throttle valve from extreme. He now has 530 hp. That changed the chally again significantly. He runs like hell. Greetings from Germany
You guys are awesome. Very funny. Keep up the good work.
You guys are the best for car reviews
