@@lastcall392 You have a Last Call and have already had to do brakes? I've had my 23 since last January and only have 7700 miles and brand new looking brakes...
Add a Hell Cat airbox, remove headlight inserts, ram air, more power. Used for $75. Add a 185 temp thermostat and the plastic/ burning smell goes away, and car loves it. You won't feel as much heat at the fenders when you get out of car. $540 a month? What? I average 19 mpg and can get 30 mpg on highway with air conditioner off, 26 mpg highway with A/C on, I don't beat on it that much though. I haven't had any problems, and mine's a 2016. The ZF8 transmission is a great, durable transmission; I sell transmission parts for a living, so I see what transmissions to avoid.
The day I pay my 2024 Chevy Malibu off is the day I go and me a 2024 challenger scatpack so that way I’ll have a daily and a car to have hella fun in but I have a long way to go
I am german, living in Spain and I just have a smile in my face everytime I uncover it in the garage for my weekly ride. No german car has done that so far.
100% agree. It's the only modern retro styled vehicle available, and that's why it's such a hit. That's why it's still selling like hot cakes after 15+ years of the same body with a minor refresh in 2015.
These cars are not sports cars; they are MUSCLE cars and that's what makes them fun. I absolutely love my Scat WB Challenger 6M ( special ordered ); I get compliments every time I take my car out for a ride. The review gave some insight into what it's like to own this car; he's right about it being expensive; one (1) tire ( for WB ) is $749.00 which includes tire disposal; mount, balance and alignment. I get 11 MPG OVERALL ( I haul a$$ ). The annoyance factor is off the charts; everybody wants to race you including the Subaru WRX, Honda Civics ( whatever sports edition ) and even the Teslas; it never ends. I had this Durango 5.7L try to flex and I just sat behind him at 110 mph and it was clear he was struggling; I just hit 4th and zipped by at 135 mph but he was a good sport when we got to the light he gave me a thumbs up. Be careful out there fellas; these cars are fast and the Hellcats are WAY faster. When a Hellcat pulled up next to me I took the invite; I barely kept up at 100 mph and when that Hellcat got past 100 mph he left me in the dust; I've never seen a car move that fast and I've gone up against ATS Vee's; Porsche 911S; Guilia Sport and C 7 Vette's. Like I wrote, be careful with these cars; I would've gotten a Hellcat but at the time Dodge didn't offer them in a 6M; now they do, but the thing is ( and I'm NOT throwing shade ); the Scat WB's are more rare than the Hellcat WB's; they're more common because most everybody wants one and goes into massive debt to get them.
Being a tall person (6' 5"), the Challenger is the only sporty car that offers a V8 and manual transmission that I fit comfortably in. That means it gets an "A" in all the categories for me.
These cars actually turn well around corners fast the fact that you had to barely turn the wheel to make your turn but gave it a D is because everyone says theyre not meant for turning... The hellcat at Nurburging can run a time of 7m 51sec thats faster than quite a few porsches, lamborghini, ferraris, amgs, Renaults ect... all cars that cost considerably more and overall pretty good for a car people say isnt meant for "real racing" and only going in straight lines.
That is an extremely impressive time, but it's worth considering how much this car compensated with it's 700+ hp on straights on the Nurburgring. It's not THAT bad in the corners, but a 4,300lb car that is this long (197"), isn't going to corner as well as a 3,000lb porsche that's much shorter. But it's WAY faster than most porsches. I have to be fair in these ratings, and it's hard to please everyone.
The air Intakes in the light work on the Shaker & TA Scatpacks. Hellcat Airbox Upgrade, also hellcat w ZF8 spds Auto are heavier 4400lb with supercharger front end weight. Best handling Challenger is the scat pack widebody with the TR60-60 6spd Manual, the big brake kit & lightest wheels.
I have a T/A and I've drove with a few guys with Mustang's pushing it hard and I could keep up pretty easy around all the twisty bits. A wider sticky tire really helps these cars.
This should be compared to the competition -- Mustang and Camero. It has a huge back seat and trunk compared to them. The front seat is built for large people too. I give it an A. If you need a larger back seat you should think about a 4 door Charger.
The air catcher lights are functional… you have to take out the plugs🙄. I hit 3.8 to sixty with just drag radials. Exhaust tips are real.probably the most comfortable car Ive been in. C is too low. Custom ordered one in 2016. Ordered it right after GoMango Orange replaced Plum Crazy. Only problem was a leaky valve cover gasket replaced under warranty. I don’t drive it that much. I have factory documentation saying they built only three just like it in 2016. I’m very happy with mine. Although, I might sell mine to get a Hellcat. Upgraded seats, suspension, and of course the power upgrade is huge. Although it would be garage and not driven much of the year like this one is.
You said fake exhaust tips? What’s fake about it? Also the sound is subjective. I personally love the sound it’s loud enough when you get on it and nice when cruising no drone. And as far as comfort, the challenger is the most comfortable when compare to camaro and mustang.
if you can find one with the dynamics package they come stock with 6 piston fronts and 275s all the way around. The brakes also come standard on the widebody version if you prefer, I'm a narrow body guy.
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I think the Challenger exterior design is S tier easily. It's the most true to what a muscle car maybe should look like? And quite honestly a perfect evolution of it. I think the only thing that comes close is the 5th gen Camaros. And this coming from a mustang guy. So much so, I own two of the s550s. C7 Corvette (Stingray Z51) owner here. I like the Challenger a lot, but if you’re going for a 2 door coupe I feel like there are better options on paper, unless you just love the styling, and that’s totally fair, it’s a great car. I have a 21 Challenger Scat Pack convertible conversion. My headlights are not blocked, they are open just like the Hellcat. By the way, I love my Scat Pack.
As an owner of a 22 widebody I’d also give a D for price, I paid 55k and there even more now, and three years ago they were giving about 7k off these cars. I’d say there over priced by about 10k, just my opinion, but happy I have one for sure. Also for the exhaust I’d give a C , it sounds pretty good but a little reserved, I completely intended to keep my car 100% stock, but I have decided come spring time I’m going to remove the mid mufflers and add vibrants, I’ve looked into many different options and for me this is the one because it keeps the same exact sound but about 25% louder, and it will only run about $400 in total. It’s the best option in my opinion and I don’t want to sound like a tank coming down the street, so it’s just preference. Great video, thanks
I had a rude awakening when I bought my Mustang.. I listed it as a second car and not my daily and they still wanted up to $200 a month for both cars. And I am 51 with no points so it's not to bad but still.. And the up keep is more to. Brakes cost more, these cars take a lot more oil than a 4 banger or V6 too.. He's definitely right about the high cost of maintenance.. When you have a sport car or Muscle car, you have to do the gear oil, and rear oil, almost as much as the regular motor oil.. These aren't the type of cars that you can just ignore that other stuff..
I have a 2020 rt scat wb supercharged challenger for about 4 months jury still out but acc with supercharger is A comfort is a B maintenance is c very expensive but no issues besides me changing pulley belt tensioner and belt exterior A everyone loves it
Would pick this trim level if we're to have a challenger as 485 hp is plenty for me anyway.thats a 2 door car not a 4 door car like that doesn't need a big back seat like older Camaros and mustangs back seats not crazy big.
No way dude This car is not like any euro car. It has a special purpose. It is safer on curves after you learn to drive it until it feels like a glove. I enjoy every part of my car and would not driver 1450 mph in any other car. its all about learning how to drive curves and do it right. - cornering is an A. it's not a BMW. you have to learn some unique skills but once you have spent time cornering at higher torque you begin to feel more confident than driving a BMW, it's not the same kind of driving. I have owned both. This car can run on 85 with knocks or 87 with no problems. I spend 55 dollars every 10 days on gas. Buy a Repo. Trade in your BMW. they are coming back into the banks now and will be $29999 and they are tanks and will last a lifetime if you get the stick and take care of it! you boys don't realize you're sitting on a car that can last 50 years no problem. It looks simple and maybe plain, but it will outlast those stupid euro trash forced induction plastic pipe competitors. Last think here is the math: buy a repo with 55k for 30K price - get 10k on your paid off trade in and boom - 20K loan and go 72 months- I pay $370 month. We can be free. Think smart and don't speed unless no one is looking.
I think its a B. But I have the TA with 6 piston brembos, 275mm tires and hellcat headlight air intake all form factory. And it's also manual. It's a very fun car to drive.
I own a 22 Challenger RT manual, and although not a Scat Pack, I agree with much of what you said. However for the "fun to drive and listen to" category (obviously not one of the listed criteria), I give it an A+...50 grins per mile. There's NOTHING out there in this price category that blends old school raw power and bravado with modern tech and conveniences....it's like an old school muscle car with modern reliability and convenience. Before purchasing it brand new I had half a mind to buy an old Camaro or Mustang, but I realized I probably would have put the same amount of money into those cars only to get something of questionable reliability and safety (not to mention no practicality for daily use). This car, in my opinion, is in a league of it's own.
@@billhamilton7524 Interesting. There are quite a few RT manuals available in the Las Vegas area fyi, at least as of a week or two ago... and some in Utah.
I own a 2017 scat shaker 6 speed , and it’s never been back to dealer except for normal maintenance items , it’s not driven daily however actually it’s got 7k miles on it , have nothing negative to say , BTW I ADDED DOOR SILL PLATES AND HOOD pins , GONna ADD SPOILER SCAT PACK badge ,, with that done I don’t think u can tell it from a 22 scat ! AGREED WITH. ODT OF YOUR GRADES EXCEPT CONFORT , THUS CAR US VERY COMPORTSBLE FIR FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS
I was with him until he got to the sound part. A bone stock Scatpack is the best sounding exhaust you can get from the factory. I own a C7 with npp and it's not even close to sounding as good as a scat.
Nice car. I have a green 2022. Really enjoyed your review and analysis. However, I don't know where you see 4 doors on this car. I will watch your reviews in the future for your presentational style. Happy Holidays.
That's awesome! How are you liking your car so far? And sorry I meant to say "4 seats", not "4 doors". I didn't catch that slip up. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I like it a lot. Super fun to drive. Second Challenger I have driven off the showroom floor. First one was a 1973 green Challenger 340 4-speed, with the pistol grip shifter and a bunch of special ordered performance extras. That car was hard on gas, but premium was 28 cents a gallon. Therefore tires disappeared quickly too. But it was all worth it. Take care.
If you’re ever in Naples/Bonita Springs/Fort Myers area in Florida hit me up! I always have great cars you can review, like my Ferrari 458 or Porsche GT4RS! Great video and review man, absolutely love your content!
If you can wait, get a low mile used hellcat. You will thank yourself. I had a widebody scat pack and felt underwhelmed by it. This big car needs that supercharger. Night and day difference with the blower. This is coming from c5 and c6 owner.
The challenger, no matter what trim, is paying homage to its heritage and that makes the entire thing an A+++++ in my books! As a tall person, 6ft 3in, I can sit in both the front and back seats comfortably. So the seating is an A for me. The sound system, oh how I love how dove has designed the sound system on this. I’ve driven Camaros and mustangs and their sound systems were pieces of shit in comparison to the challenger. So that’s another A. And the steering? I’ve gone around hairpin turns at 70 kms an hour without an issue at all so idk how you can say it doesn’t turn well. My buddy who owned a Camaro tried to keep up with me and his car was trying to put him off the road so he had to slow down.
@@ProfessorDrivesWould you prefer over the mustang 10 speed ? I have driven both . I enjoy the torque of the scat in the city but the mustang is fierce on the highway with that top end.
@@ProfessorDrivesthat's what exhaust tips are... tips lmfao. When people say "fake exhaust tips," they mean that they aren't connected to the rest of the exhaust system. The exhaust gasses expel somewhere else.
The owner told me his 2018 scatpack sounded way better stock. So unless dodge intentionally made the sound worse, then it had to be from some sort of regulation.
I've heard nothing on this, sounds crazy to me, unless somebody slipped the resonators off at the dealership, there was upgrade to the active exhuast for RTs Only in 17 or 18, the Scats got the upgrades in 15 but the Charger widebodys from 18 on up where definitely louder.
@@tezalehall2818 Interesting... The owner said it was very noticeable for him, and I found some forums where people said their 2020+ scatpacks/hellcats just didn't sound as good, but it could be a coincidence of people who bought their scats/cats with no resonators. If you have experience with both years, then I trust you on that.
@@ProfessorDrives they did change the pcm or ecm tunes for emissions for the hellcats, that caused all sort of performance neutering, I thought like 21- 23 it did effect the output after the cars warmed up to operating temps.
I just looked this morning and found two in oklahoma for under 40. Put these vin #'s in google 2C3CDZFJ3PH615089 and 2C3CDZFJ2PH528493. David stanley dodge in midwest city. If you can get one now for under 40, that is a good deal. I looked and these were costing 40 grand brand new in 2016, that would be about 52 grand today with inflation. One is 36k and one is 39k
I wouldn’t buy one with 20k or more miles. People beat the shit out of them. Then get rid of them. And if u do cold air intake you open those headlight vents and the air funnels into the air box.
That's a really good point. I wonder if there's an OBD thing that can read how many times a car has been redlined. If I ever buy another sports car, I 100% would want to know that.

I have a 2020 rt scat wb supercharged challenger for about 4 months jury still out but acc with supercharger is A comfort is a B maintenance is c very expensive but no issues besides me changing pulley belt tensioner and belt exterior A everyone loves it
Did you harden the short block or is it stock?
Get the dynamics package which includes wider tires, better rims, 6 piston Brembo's.
Would pick this trim level if we're to have a challenger as 485 hp is plenty for me anyway.thats a 2 door car not a 4 door car like that doesn't need a big back seat like older Camaros and mustangs back seats not crazy big.
those headlights are air intakes. when they're closed theres a piece of glass infront of them
Just went from my 19 challenger sxt to 23 challenger last call scat pack , this car is a monster to me 😂😂😂
Congrats! Have Fun!
Your channel is underrated.
Hey man excellent review … keep doing your thing
Ty!!
What multiverse are you from where this thing cost $40,000???????
Righttt
He meant used at 43000 miles
I'm about to close on a 21 scat with 4k miles on it with clean title with no accidents for 40k even
2021, 39k clean with 6k miles local 🙌
@@dboulier54 congrats, I have been enjoying mine! I hope you do the same
As far as cornering, my 2019 skat widebody package takes corners pretty dam nice!
Yes for 40… no in the 50s and higher like they cost now, which is absolutely absurd. I would not buy a scat pack anywhere near 50,000
The leather is a must.....every vehicle I have owned has leather interior simply because it's easier to clean
On the Scat Packs you can't even get full leather seats, so annoying.
@@Flipdodge392Ong
Ive been looking for a manual ,,hard to find
@@billhamilton7524 I now have both. I'd definitely recommend the manual if you can find one....much more fun to drive (as long as it's not a commuter)
Fair amount in scats but non in the RT
@@billhamilton7524 Interesting. There are quite a few RT manuals available in the Las Vegas area fyi, at least as of a week or two ago... and some in Utah.
@@wakeboarder9180 Problem is im a bit picky on color ,,the hunt continues
Thanks bro
Nice review, everything you said just on point!
Ty so much! New Z4 next, then the glorious V10 Audi S6.
I own a 2017 scat shaker 6 speed , and it’s never been back to dealer except for normal maintenance items , it’s not driven daily however actually it’s got 7k miles on it , have nothing negative to say , BTW I ADDED DOOR SILL PLATES AND HOOD pins , GONna ADD SPOILER SCAT PACK badge
,, with that done I don’t think u can tell it from a 22 scat !
Hemis have zero character
@@Dulanor You clearly don't have real world experience with these engines to say that.
Brooo u have some bad ass camera angles !
Happy 2024!! And thank you man!
If you're serious, I'd be willing to drive down and meet you! How would you like to get in touch?
Hey, do you know if you can ever review the ScatPack 1320? I would like to know your thoughts on that. :)
I have actually never heard of the 1320! I'll start looking out for it and try to do a review of it :)
Yes it is ESPECIALLY if it’s in its most masculine form of M6 🔥
I have a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT and I give mine B + across the board!!!
Insane is a strong word for a 14 year old platform in a car that weighs as much as a minivan.
I am researching but can’t find enough info. In 2023, should I take the R/T 5.7 or opt for the Scat Pack despite it being harder to mod?
That’s what I’m deciding too. It says they get around the same gas mileage but the scat seems like it would drink more gas
I have one it's awesome
Just played rocket league with this dude super chill
Lol!! This guy beat me too :(
@4:20 You said "The fuel cap gives the car a muscle-ly feeling." lol
Track mode is the only way to drive a Scatty
Do you prefer this over the Camaro?
I would say so yes. This car is CRAZY fun in straight lines. Also feels faster than the Camaro.
@@ProfessorDrivesWould you prefer over the mustang 10 speed ? I have driven both . I enjoy the torque of the scat in the city but the mustang is fierce on the highway with that top end.
@@Oliver-ft2fq Something about the 10 speed mustangs that make me LOVE them. I'd choose a 10 speed. BUT, this car is WAY more fun to launch.
Those exhaust tips are not fake, take a look under the car
I did, and you can see the real exhaust inside of the fake tips
Okay but they're both connected
@@ProfessorDrivesthat's what exhaust tips are... tips lmfao. When people say "fake exhaust tips," they mean that they aren't connected to the rest of the exhaust system. The exhaust gasses expel somewhere else.
Exactly, if there's exhaust coming out of them they're exhaust tips.
Fun car for sure just not realistic for me to daily drive . That’s why i have a beater.
40k ??? I paid 62 for mines 🤦🏽♂️
The weakest link on those cars has always been the tires.. No way they should have came with 245's lol..
5:06 Can you provide the source of this regulation?
23 on the highway is good considering what it is
Where can I get new one for $40k, I seen them for $50 the lowest
I just looked this morning and found two in oklahoma for under 40. Put these vin #'s in google 2C3CDZFJ3PH615089 and 2C3CDZFJ2PH528493. David stanley dodge in midwest city. If you can get one now for under 40, that is a good deal. I looked and these were costing 40 grand brand new in 2016, that would be about 52 grand today with inflation. One is 36k and one is 39k
I just bought one today.. i had a Ram 4 door full size truck. Im sure the gas will make me think it worth it 😂 from the test ride i was sold..
Your not in a 4 door car dude.
i was about to comment that
I think ima hurry and get one before it’s too late because it’s cheap asf rn
It’s a muscle car, all of the mid to lower ratings listed is inherent of owning a muscle car. You can’t compare apples and oranges.
2 door car buddy not 4
I wouldn’t buy one with 20k or more miles.
It may not tell you but you can be sure it tells Dodge every dam thing@@ProfessorDrives
What about insurance. Must be expensive.
Dude this is not a 4 door car
My friend yes. That was a mistake.

nothing is fake with exhaust Bro
You can see the fake tips, it's very clear.
@@ProfessorDrivesI'm not OP but nope, the exhaust gasses exit both sides, so nothing fake about it... How could you not see it?

.......Fourth comment about the exhaust being not fake .... Its fake a real exhaust has tips not pipes resting in plastic/chrome shrouding
