  • Long COVID and gas, bloating, heartburn and acid reflux? Check your stomach acid levels!
    functionaltele...
Amongst the many symptoms across the body in Long COVID, one common area that gets disturbed in many is the GUT!
Acid reflux or 'heartburn' is a commonly occurring symptom, and Dr Jamie explains why this happens in this condition, and in general, and how this is also linked to the increases in gas and bloating which are often also experienced.
*Despite the information in this video, you should never cease taking anti-acid medication without consulting your primary doctor/GP. Ceasing this medication without proper supervision can cause rebound symptoms of significant acid production.

Thank you for covering this topic. I'm an RN who contracted Covid 2 years ago. I've never been serioudly ill. I ended up in ER twice. Endoscopy, negative. No one was addressing this topic at the time. The inflammation causes severe abdominal pain, bloating, in addition to back pain. Ones BP can also be raised. It's been a nonstop of well one week, not well the next. Any virus, cols etc, triggers the long Covid. We must get the medical community at large behind this massive problem. So many are suffering with no where to go. I just started on a gut repair formula a week ago. The first complete relief I've had. Here's hoping!

And in autumn /winter is even worse... They ruined nervous and immune system...i have also pain in muscle, tendons, joint... Never had an issue in my life training hard. From 22 months is an hell. @@ciuffoarancione8929 sorry to hear that.
What you’re dealing with is “spike protein” that your body is dealing with. There’s a supplement called “nattokinase” which helps get rid of it from your body. Another one is NAC or n-acetylcysteine which helps reduce inflammation. A lot of people have found success using them.
      - Make sure you’re getting in the sun during the day
      - get enough sleep
      - try intermittent fasting (eat utmost twice a day and fast the rest of time… eating once a day is even better)
      - cut out all processed food (take always, and junk …). Always cook your food from fresh.
Hang in there, you will get better. Stay positive.

Hi Amber! You know, our understanding and testing methods for SIBO are fairly new things, and we're still learning alot! Ie you could even have SIFO (fungal overgrowth vs bacterial).. so i wouldnt completely exclude that possibility of you have a -ve test... But working with someone to assess all your symptoms can be helpful to narrow things down! Feel free to contact us if you think we could help :)

Jason - we discussed a few things you can do for SIBO in this video, however, overcoming histamine intolerance, especially in relation to post covid, can be complex and you may need guidance from a practitioner.. It generally involves lowering histamine in the diet to help reduce the load, but also identifying things which are triggering histamine responses in the body..

Might sound stupid, but if the small intestine is backing up with the need to force food down better, would fizzy drinks (e.g sparkling water) help build stomach pressure and push food down which would lower stomach acid height?

BURP !! When these symptoms happen I find it a blessing to Belch. I find sometimes carbonated drink has reverse effect and caused too much pressure and I resort to something with peppermint in it. My Grandfather used to use ginger so I need to try it too
I honestly believe I got L.C. from a RAT test. What a sneaky way to spread it

No Lie! at the age of 71 it felt better than Sex ... I even raised a smile while throwing up. ... Well that fixed it for the next bout. I spent 5 days in hospital and they said they had nothing for it ... Oh! I forgot? Natural remedies are out ...
