- A belated Happy New Year and an apology for the radio silence over Christmas.
Its been a very busy few weeks visiting friends and family then straight back into work.
I also have the dreaded man flu which has taken me out for the last week.
Really interested to see what you want to see on my channel this year and whether there are any topics you want to see in more detail or anything you haven't seen me do before.
Welcome back from North Carolina!Carving, sharpening tips, and outdoors. Dave
Welcome back! Anything outdoors, if I can choose.
Just came here from your latest video
Darren Allen Haha! Glad to see you here, it’s a great channel.
Good save the Woodcraft Hamster
Something simple for beginners ?
I have a kid that really likes carving away in wood, when we are outdoors. He tries to make primitive flat spoons, but want to be able to make more real looking spoons.
But we need something not very axe-heavy. Something more with saw/knife, once the log has been split.
Something easy to do for a 9 year old.
Could be other stuf than a spoon.
Happy new year 😊
Happy New Year to you too. I do enjoy your videos and your opinions on different subjects. You and I live on opposite sides of the big pond but agree on so much. Thank you.

happy belated New Year to you and a belated response on Jan.23 (probably the 24th in the UK). if you are interested in role playing have you considered reenacting history? you can tie in your skills with the outdoors and woodcarving in this fascinating hobby. In the US i have been a Frontier Reenactor, AKA Buckskinner. at reenactments or rendezvous i fit in quite well as a woodcarver and my interest in the outdoors and Native American history is enhanced with the skills and knowledge of living in the territories in earlier times. I don't know what you can reenact in the UK. I see in the US there are Viking Reenactors that practice many of the skills as the Frontier Reenacotors. the problem with them is they are not held as accountable for historic accuracy as Frontier Reenactors. I know that Vikings played an important role in the history of England that took place many years before the American Frontier.
