    When I was in the emergency room, they told me that I had about only three minutes left to live. I had a collapsed left lung. I had a life saving procedure. They told me that it would be easier to die. I was warned that it would be painful. I am so glad that I am still here. I was twenty- eight

    Thank you so much for this comprehensive video! I was diagnosed with this recently and wanted to know more about it. I have moderate to severe persistent asthma, have had recurrent sinus, bronchitis and pneumonia infections that required hospital admission more than once. My doctor saw this condition on my chest xray and I'm awaiting a CT to see more in depth in the lungs and the bronchial tubes. It's miserable. I wake up every morning with my throat drowning in pus/phlegm that I have a hard time clearing. I'm hoping with time this will get easier, but it just sucks right now.

    Still living a happy, healthy and active life for a 75-year-old with not great lungs. Taking exercise walks and careful to give other people plenty of distance in this COVID 19 era. No one need be lonely when there are so many people now asking for help through social media. As for the bronchiectasis, most of my life I had no idea why I felt unwell, tired and confused much of the time, with regular bouts of bronchitis, which I thought was flu. Now I expel mucus from my lungs most days. As a result I am alive, active and for the first time feel that I am enjoying life and living it to the full!

    Thank you so much for this video. I was recently diagnosed with bronchiectasis. I was tested for CF, sweat and DNA. My sweat test was negative. They found mutation p.F508del and modifying mutation (TG)12-5T. but I was told I don't have CF I'm just a carrier. I know I don't have TB or HIV. so maybe ABPA is the cause.
    I just want to stay healthy and knowing what caused my lung damage might help in the future for medications. Thank you again your video has given me a better understanding of the condition.

    Awesome video as always. Quick question: If the pathogenesis of bronchiectasis is related to chronic airway inflammation (CF, TB), then why doesn't chronic bronchitis/COPD cause bronchiectasis?

    • @MadePramana
      @MadePramana 3 года назад +2

      Hi! Great question. COPD and bronchiectasis are indeed related to airway inflammation. In COPD, the causes are smoking, inhaling noxious agent, alpha-1 deficiency, etc. The inflammation are chronic in COPD. In bronchiectasis, the vicious cycle of infection and inflammation cause dilatation of the bronchi. COPD can be accompanied with bronchiectasis in some cases.
