@@Coordinator61 Yes it desperately needed a major upgrade but they should have built something like the Grenadier instead of what they made. Should have kept the classic look and solid axles.
This video is disapointing. The title suggests that it will compare the G Class vs Grenadier, whereas in reality it is just listing a load of data for each - it doesn't actually compare the likeness / differences, or the impact of the differences between the two. Also, if you want people to hear the comentry then at least keep the BACKING soundtrack in the background and not so loud that what you're saying cannot be heard or understood. The video is also a loop of stock images or marketing clips, not actual field tested captures.
It is a matter of price, both cars perform similar, one is focuses more as a rugged car and the other more as a luxury car. The last defender, was more oriented to a rugged drive and performance, with some English car problems, but this one has a German engine, so reliability is out of the question. I would rather be in a Grenadier, than in a G wagon, mainly because I know that when you go to out to the wildness, you will have accidents, and broken parts, and G wagon is a very expensive car to repair. Both have a square look, so interior space is very large. I like to go out to explore, and to go to places hard to get, in no charted roads, very far away from any civilized city, so I will prefer a more rugged vehicle, than a more luxurious one. One that can go through mud, rocks , mountain ravines, and anything that come across and pass it, yes it will get some scratches, some bumps, and some parts broken, and that’s why I don’t need an expensive one, that I will need a leg and arm to fix it.
Amazing to hear that Mr Chinni. Warm response from you. I am praying and hoping to bring you more interesting content this year, thanks a lot. God bless.
I like and love both. They are `the wings` for adventures... and that is something beautiful in our Lifetime :) Therefore for me it`s not `vs`, but quite more `variation + variation`... And the customers are FREE, to decide... And that`s something damned great Thank you so for this comparison !
The Grenadiers only true rival is the current G Wagon. The 2024 is said to get rid of the steering box and replace with a rack and pinion which will make for a nicer drive on the road. However, if this breaks on a proper outback adventure or rock crawling, you have no steering whatsoever.
Of course g400d is the big daddy here. Grenadier to me is satistifying, only second to off road focust Gwagon. I think old defender fans are catered for here and new defender looks unreliable for daily extreme off road. Cannot wait to park my grenadier along side my g270d and lancruiser j150.
It's not about the unique design when it comes to brand identity. It's about this brand want to inherit the discontinued Defender which still lot of people want to retain and won't fulfilled by Land Rover. That's it identity!

You forgot the no.1 , LandCruiser. Let me remind you, that only a stock (no modification) LC survived the abuse in wilderness from 4x4 guru Andrew st. Piere. G class, had an excursion in Australias outback, but all of them had failures , only G professional just few.
@@jons9038 Andrew St. Piere doesnt think so and he is 4x4 guru, not you or me. Can you satisfy my couriosity and tell me , why is LC boring, maybe because they dont broke or? And one more, G class did not exist, when LC was born.

I don't know if the 464 Professional will restore G reliability to old school 290GD levels, or will not be available on Euro 6 variants (as Military variant).
@@DMEU77 Are we comparing car to car here? Would you want to drive an LC200/300 through remote, vast, sparsely populated areas? I don't think so.. And the same goes for the w463.. The military uses the 290GD/300 professional which offers much better reliability and a larger payload hence the stiffer and more robust suspension. When it comes down to reliability, Toyota will always be a better choice. You'd have to drive both to understand why i'd pick a military G. Look up Otto's world tour. His G covered 900,000 km, 250k of which kilometers off-road, and visited 215 countries on the original drivetrain with the engine, transmission and axles. That sounds pretty reliable to me.
No comparison, no contest. Perhaps comparing it with its original Land rover model would have been more insightful. This car looks like a Frankestein project with bits and pieces of other brands and designs
Oh great, another garden variety video reviewing something new by copying online information instead of using it in real life. The click bait text in the thumbnail is the cherry on top since the low effort reviews are of the G Wagon and the Grenadier.
This Granadier is a joke, total scam for anyone foolish enough to buy one. Outdated Landrover copy but with a plastic engine totally unsuited to remote use for obvious reasons. Somebody do a test taking it on a long cross country trail with a Toyota, a G professional and a new Defender.
I would buy the Ineos Grenadier blindly !!!👍👍👍👍👍
Agree!
Anyone here got their Grenadier yet?
I'm in North America and I won't see one until 2nd half of 2023. Would love to see some real-life experience.
@@PL-fh8cz Same, I'm waiting on people from Australia and South Africa to start putting out videos.
What we're Land Rover thinking? They ditched the iconic, original design and then tried to prevent anyone else from building something similar. Daft.
I am so disappointed also that they have deviated from the original design. Its DNA was lost during the transition
The Defender is too old anyway. Great off-road, the rest is too old. Building quality is awful.
