Next week it's going to be a test on which is the best in the snow, some of the vehicles will have slick tyres and some will have winter tyres to make the test fair.

I am glad I watched other videos before this. So my pick would be Ineos Grenadier, Toyota Land Cruiser, or Nissan Petrol. Thank you. And I think people need to watch other Ineos Grenadier Videos before watching this other wise people will get wrong information. This is why more research and information is better before buying a car.
I agree the Wrangler is a great 4x4, I would buy one but sadly doesn’t have 3.5 ton towing capacity. Hence considering the Grenadier to replace my current Shogun.
Well yeah that's because anything that can tow a lot or handle good on the road doesn't have as much articulation and travel off-road and is much heavier
You chaps don't realise, for another 2000 Euro the Duster can be transformed into a 4x4 I only can wish my Raptor can keep up with. Here is the list I did on my play toy Duster: 1. Increase groud clearance with cheap coil struts (+30mm) 2. Increase ground clearance even more by changing tires to 235/70R16 (same size Rim) 3. Install the Blokka rear differential (LockRight locker). 4. Chip the engine to 102Kw and 340Nm !!!!! (And yes, I meant to write 340Nm out of a 1451cc diesel engine) 5. Install a Torsen differential in the front axle. Now compare this to the Raptor and if you know a thing or two about maths, you'll figure out why the Duster will go places very few road legal 4x4's can go. One more pice of the puzzle is: The Duster is only 1300Kg while the Raptor is 2 metric tonnes+ :( In the end - it is not the absence of power which gets you stuck. Most modern 4x4's have plenty power. Wheel grip is the real issue. And if you do the above to your Duster, you'll have 28cm ground clearance and the Raptor will need 35in tires to keep up with you... (My Raptor came out with only 33in tires)
you can absolutelly lock the diffs of the defeder yourself. also the defender has the option of AT tyres but you went with the road tyres for the test, clever. Bot the ineos and the defener could have climped the hill, had you had choosen the same angle of approach.
I completely agree about the same line, angle and approach with all cars. However you can not lock the defenders rear-diff manually, the car has to decide itself when to do it, cant be overridden manually. Also not front diff lock available at all on the defender unlike the ineos and rubicon.
@@adamgodbold6923 you can manually lock the rear diff as well. however they should also have a frond diff lovk as an option and rear diff lock should be standart
I had a 2020 Defender First Edition 110 D240 between June 2020 and March 2023, did 23000 miles in it on Duratrac AT’s with a lot of moderate/ heavy offroad stuff and I could manually lock the centre diff and change the amount of slippage but my 2023 D250 90 HSE doesn’t have that program as standard - it’s part of an option pack that I didn’t tick the box for but I did opt for the rear eDiff. In both cars it was interesting to see how hard the eDiffs work in wet conditions on the road as well as off it. Having owned a TDI 300 90 for 26 years prior to changing to the D240 110 there’s no way I would go back to the old style either, the old one might have been hugely capable offroad but 75% of my miles are on the tar and the new ones are great offroad but superb on it, especially the D250 which could very easily be a licence looser………. The 110 used for the video is a PHEV which runs the P300 petrol engine (the smallest engine in the range) and the electric motor - on road it gives near Defender V8 performance but also not great fuel consumption once you’ve used up the 21 miles real world electric range.
Or you can just get the Jeep and it's way better because it's lighter it has a lower center of gravity it has manual lockers it has manual locking transfer case with a better ratio and better differential hearing and way more suspension travel and articulation and it can do rock crawling Trails right up Boulders in factory specs while the defender will just get all stiff and tall and spin and grab and want to flip backwards because the traction control doesn't let it do things smoothly unless you're on moist surfaces like England

Yeah people don't get it. I'm like come on just look at the specs. It's lighter and has more travel and has articulation it has full lockers it's just no contest at all. I feel like people who still try to think the new Defender is going to do so good are people that just don't understand these Concepts and they're just more into the name of the vehicle and the look. You could tell me the specs of what the jeep has and what everything else has and I would know what's going to do better without even seeing it do better. Here in America people take rubicons on rock crawling Trails totally factory specs and climb up boulders
Dacia is just a formidable car for few money 🤑.... Dacia it will be my new car ,soon .
Selling the VW Passat b8 sheet 🗑️..
Good test guys.
Land Rover- 106.2 mpg never in this life.
it's petrol/electric
Yes. It's BS mpg on all hybrids.
I don’t care if it’s running on pixie dust, there is not a chance in hell it’s doing 106.2 mpg.
@@darrenhaywood9260 As long as the electricity lasts then the next full mile.
@@darrenhaywood9260 I'll tell everyone what does 100 + mpg, Honda cub motorcycles.
Thank you for this. I’ll go and get a Land Cruiser.
When I go to remote locations in Africa and Australia, I mostly see Landcruisers. Built to last 20 years in tough conditions. Impressed with the Ineos quality, like a military GWagon W464, metal not plastic. Also impressed with the Ford capability. Rubicon 2.0 petrol engine too stressed for the weight = no longevity.
Rubicon if I had money, Dacia if I could afford new.
Subaru Legacy has to do meantime 😢
One thing often missed out by these reviews or test's is long term ownership...and after working in motor trade for 40yrs ..One thing that I can easily say the cost of OEM jeep parts is shocking...example door window £990 ...starter motor £1800 ..
Next time please get a driver who can off-road, knows how to set the cars up, turns diff locks on when needed, and fit equivalent tyres. Otherwise a masterpiece of incompetence over technology and the landscape.
Kinda hope this video gets better. 6 min in and so far you have done a tyre test and a driver test.... Feeling a bit conned by the video title if honest!
Why didn’t he lock the axles on the grenadier, it would’ve made it otherwise or if he would take the same line
I agree with wither dif lock or the same fair line it would have made it! Not a fair test.
@@adamgodbold6923 yeah, they definitely could’ve benefitted from a driver upgrade
This was a 100 % skill issue.
You brought a dacia duster but not jimny?!? Come on
Dacia's better
@YOCOSMINMAX16 better how? Better as a family car? Sure. Better as an off roader? sure it is lol, jimny is a pure off roader, ladder frame chassis, live axles front and rear, low ratio transfer case, Dacia is just a family car with 4x4, it's nice but jimny eat Dacia for breakfast in any off road scenario. Dacia is better lol
@@-Belshazzar- Nobody uses 4x4 proper now.
@YOCOSMINMAX16 speak for yourself. Nobody, I all my friends and many other I know still do. I don't know where you live, but I have a vast desert in my country where we offroad in trails a Dacia would only dream of going. Just because you don't, doesn't mean no one dose lol. Just google offroad and see what people do all over the world in proper off road vehicles like wrangler, land cruiser, bronco, jimny, and the like, people do it all the time. So you don't good for you. Obviously you know nothing about off roading
@@-Belshazzar- Stfu, when i said "nobody" that means the majority of cheap 4x4 cars of today, my uncle has a business just for proper 4x4 stuff in Romania, search for "Cobrra 4x4".
I know what 4x4 means but don't tell me that persons who spend £
Since the Grenadier made the ruts deeper once and again and couldn't climb the hill, don't expect the New Defender do exactly the same in the same ruts and after the destruction the Grenadier did there. And we all see the Raptor climbed that hill because went outside those ruts. Stopped the video there, nothing else to see here.
Didn’t use same modes on all vehicles. One went up in high range another was low range and locked.
The Defender seemed to have street tyres on it not All Terrains!
And was it in Mud/Ruts mode?
tyres are too small on the ineos from the factory by fully 1/3 HUGE error right from appearance onto comfort and of course onto performance.....
Tyre pressure?
The Defender doing all that with road tyres is impressive.
All cars should be using same off road tire for a fair comparison, with same driver for a better comparison of performance. One driver if lifting off when car Slows. Result? Car gets stuck. Raptor is clearly an amazing all rounder and best value.
Maybe get the same guy driving all the vehicles ? Doug drove like an old woman ,straight into the same rut in the best two vehicles tested. The INEOS and Defender are only slightly rivalled by the Wrangler in reality.
Id say the jeep had the advantage and wassnt a fair test as the jeep didn't have to stop. Also the grenadier didnt have thr advantage of trying a different line
A very good video and just the type i enjoy
Top men happy 2024
I am glad I watched other videos before this. So my pick would be Ineos Grenadier, Toyota Land Cruiser, or Nissan Petrol.
Thank you. And I think people need to watch other Ineos Grenadier Videos before watching this other wise people will get wrong information.
This is why more research and information is better before buying a car.
Lesson 1 when off reading always use low range to save life of transmission/ clutch 🤷🤦
I agree the Wrangler is a great 4x4, I would buy one but sadly doesn’t have 3.5 ton towing capacity. Hence considering the Grenadier to replace my current Shogun.
then go with the renegade.
Well yeah that's because anything that can tow a lot or handle good on the road doesn't have as much articulation and travel off-road and is much heavier
@@seanstewart6292why would he go with a crappy Jeep Renegade unibody construction that cannot tow 7000 lb which is what 3.5 tons is
i meant the gladiator my bad@@ronaldrrootiii6040
Maybe look into a grand Cherokee most can tow 3.5 ton while being very good off road and comfortable
They should all have the same tyres on..
And the same driver. I see big differences… sorry to say so…
You chaps don't realise, for another 2000 Euro the Duster can be transformed into a 4x4 I only can wish my Raptor can keep up with. Here is the list I did on my play toy Duster:
1. Increase groud clearance with cheap coil struts (+30mm)
2. Increase ground clearance even more by changing tires to 235/70R16 (same size Rim)
3. Install the Blokka rear differential (LockRight locker).
4. Chip the engine to 102Kw and 340Nm !!!!! (And yes, I meant to write 340Nm out of a 1451cc diesel engine)
5. Install a Torsen differential in the front axle.
Now compare this to the Raptor and if you know a thing or two about maths, you'll figure out why the Duster will go places very few road legal 4x4's can go.
One more pice of the puzzle is: The Duster is only 1300Kg while the Raptor is 2 metric tonnes+ :(
In the end - it is not the absence of power which gets you stuck. Most modern 4x4's have plenty power. Wheel grip is the real issue. And if you do the above to your Duster, you'll have 28cm ground clearance and the Raptor will need 35in tires to keep up with you... (My Raptor came out with only 33in tires)
Obviously ,Grenadier trialmaster edition🔛🔝👍
Jeep is definitely de best Off Road car but Duster is the best for every day use. The others are forgettable...
A tyre test.
you can absolutelly lock the diffs of the defeder yourself. also the defender has the option of AT tyres but you went with the road tyres for the test, clever.
@@ronaldrrootiii6040 better diifs : source trust me bro
manual transfer case, so what?
ligher and lower center of gravity: no it doesnt
It has more travel i ll give you that.
ANything else, just pure BS.
The second man is taking all the wrong lines in the third hill climb, and failing the cars.
I believe the voice over is done by the second man. What he misses is that along the final rut, first driver always took a far right line to avoid it at the first place from a few metres before. And the second driver always chose the wrong line, going straight into the rut. Strange!
neil just avoids that rut by choosing to go right. the other driver of the ineos just goes right at it, in the middle
Driver fail 😂
Can’t wait for the new Land Cruiser
You can't fault vehicles for hill performance when you failed to take the successful line.
Why has no RUclips channel got sponsored by a tire manufacture so they can put the same tires on all the test cars??? That would make a lot of sense.
TFL Truck does that sometimes
I think if change the INEOS and DEFENDER driver the could go up in the las hill
I would like to see if the opinions changed with an Australian Ranger Raptor with 100hp more than the one you have in Europe.
I’m happy and proud owner of 2 door wrangler with 3,6 liters, glad it’s won 😅
You forgot Lada Niva - no road no problem ! ..
And the Ariel Nomad!
Russian garbage
I enjoyed watching the Video l. One of the best Comparison Group Tests 😊
how many of these "fails" are down to the driver's not knowing how to drive off road
No off road tyres on the defender or grenadier but the raptor is off road ready. What a fix
I think the weight of the Grenadier works against it.
not on same tyres so doesn't mean much and the driver of the land rover and ineos was obviously either inexperienced off road or just completely unskilled , even with the disadvtage of going second
Is the Dacia Duster actually a real 4WD with proper diff locks? Or is it just mimicking these electronically?
The driver defines the out come. Taking good lines evidently helps.
Wow awesome video😊
As this is a "4x4 test" why have you got the Ignis here and not. the 4x4 Jimny that Suzuki sell?????
They didn't want to make things too fair...
This test would have been far more representative with driver rotation....
there's a massive difference in tyres between jeep and ineos. I can admit different brands or whatever, but the size of them matter a lot here
people why so much hate on this Chanel, im Glad that they did a test like this.
but i got to be honest Doug isn't a good offroad driver 😂
and yes Dacia Duster is the winner for me alone the 24k preis tag with those capabilities 👏🎉
The sad point of the Wrangler is that it is from all tested cars the only that just got one Star in NCAP. So you should never ever have an accident with this car - it is the most lethal one.
Were the tyres the same on all the vehicles? If not it’s hardly a fair test
Different drivers plus different tyres means not uniform test
