There’s no chance of signing Openda. He’s got 4 years left on contract and has a high release clause as it is. Unrealistic I think.

Openda would be a great signing to ultimately replace Sonny but not my preferred main striker. Look at his goals, see the defenders and there is rarely any depth of defenders around him when he scores, whereas how often would we face teams that don't pull pretty much all their players behind the ball and defend deep
Yes he has pace and strength and can be a good finisher but I see him being more successful making the quick counters when the opposition has pushed forward leaving their defence light. That said it would be an inspired signing in many ways because it would give us a pacey and strong striker that could play centrally short term-whilst the choice and striker options currently available as main striker are thin and in many cases have question marks.
In a perfect world get him in this summer and add Sesko next, they have defibrillators at the ground just make sure they are at hand when someone suggests this to Daniel 😁

@@barnabyslater_ I’m 60/40 pro levy, but this window is critical and if the window is poor then I will revert 40/60. Personally I would accept three quality signings and bring in the youth. Then add two quality per window and in a few years we can make real progress. The constant avoidance of FFP rules is worrying and I see an independent regulator as the only way forward. Equally charging Forest and Everton with breaches is crazy when Chelsea and City get away with murder. The basic principle should be that all transactions are at arms length and at market fair value. This stops the crazy selling youngsters on a quid pro quo basis.

I think Spurs will come back in for Tony, but I think that they will let Brentford dangle him in the market for the summer. Brentford want an unreasonable amount of money for a 28-year-old striker who is in his last year of his contract and has not had the close to the 2023-2024 season everyone expected. His market value has definitely declined and if Arsenal are out on him, you can bet that his price tag will drop. Much like their demand last year for their goalkeeper, they didn’t get their asking price and ended up dropping, the price tag near the deadline. I think they will do the same thing with Tony. I do think Spurs will come back for him.
