Here, Dave probably listened to the demos once, then played and improvised what he remembered, because some parts of is solos here are pretty much what's on the demos, but some parts are clearly improv.

The sad probable truth and reality is, and this is coming from a diehard Metallica fan, Metallica would NEVER be this big if Dave stayed in the band. The reconciliation between Dave and the band actually washed away cynicism from my soul. It ended my weariness with Metallica from a band that was my soundtrack in high school that became a band I felt were out of touch and a bit high and mighty-not that they did not deserve their fame- but when Lars and Dave had a talk I realized that these are people that have been on a journey and know what life is about. They restored my faith in what is best about humanity and I love them for that.
