This video really shows how dave and james both have a very strong leader aura. Unfortunately, you can't have two leaders in one house. It's only natural that one will leave and build his own house.
Strange indeed. I can understand Dave's furry (and, it still hasn't completely gone away with Lars). Its bad enough that they [Metallica] did take Dave's material, but claiming credit for songs they didn't write and not being fair about it is shitty. Hey, I get it. They had a recording gig to do and it was their one chance. But taking credit for songs they didn't write is no excuse. Jump in the Fire and Mechanix were 100% Dave and you got Ulrich on the credits??? oh hell no! I think not! James sharing credit for Four Horseman is understandable because James rewrote the lyrics from the Mechanix. He did the lyrics for Metal Militia and Phantom Lord too. Dave is not innocent of course. He screwed up in the band. He treated McGovney like crap. He was pretty childish to attack Kirk. He should have been fired. But, over time, that grudge has pretty much died out. So has his anger at James. But whenever you hear about Dave getting hot headed over anything regarding Metallica these days, its always centered around Lars. That's not simply because Dave can't drop a grudge. Its often because some shitty dishonest crap Lar's is pulling (which Lars has a bad rep for). Taking all these factors into account, you're right! It is absolutely amazing that that Dave has reunited with them. It is strange how life works.
After all these years and everything, man, when they put their minds to it, they still kick ass like nobody's business! Metallica + Dave Mustaine = One heck of a reckoning force!
It's easy to take Dave Mustaine for granted because he is always in the front of everything Metallica.
