There are no words to describe how much I love Jason, he was the perfect bassist for Metallica during the late 80´s and 90´s , his energy , his moshing and his brutal backing vocals will always be remembered, he is a true Metalhead and Metallica should thank that he was once part of the Four Horsemen because they were so much better with him.... Not sure if you'd heard of the band he once did called 'Newsted' he didn't do it for long (i think, if I remember correctly, it was because they wasn't making enough money.) but HECK.... I missed that band. I think I still do now even after listening to the music still

I don't know how to explain this, probably it's because I grew up in the 90s, but Jason - for me - means Metallica more than the other guys. Iconic, brutal and the epitome of the hard working musician. He is just as "big" as Cliff for me.

After viewing all the anniversary show uploads (you rock Milanica!) I have to say that Hetfield/Ulrich/Mustaine/Newsted would be my dream lineup. Jason's energy and Dave's precision make the songs 10x better.

I always visually enjoy a symmetrical band: bassist/lead singer, two guitarist on the flanks and drummer.
It's kinda bit sad that Newsted is the only guy that leaving those stage , it's like He's walking past through and leaving His greatest moments back then....

Jason gets to play with one of the pioneers of thrash metal for over 15 years, comes back with several side projects, gets to rejoin the band he was in for their 30th anniversary shows, and even sing lead on some of the songs.
But no, let's all just be mad at Metallica for diminishing his bass tracks on "Justice".
i think you mean, jason joins one of thrash metals pioneers and deals with getting shit on for 15 years, and your damn right he should be at the 30th anniversarry show because he was the bassist on the biggest metal album that has ever been released in the genre's history, and they still havent re mastered justice with his bass tracks turned up.
Jason said himself that the remastered AJfA album was released in 2010. I bought said album 3 years ago after my friend told me he bought one. Where you been?

Does it matter if I do or not? You're just going to say I'm wrong out of spite. I could sit here and tell you 2 plus 2 is 4 and simply because you don't like me, i'm wrong. Metallica didn't remaster the album, you're right. George Marino did it for them. Once in 1995 and again in 2009.
The remaster sucks. It's just some EQ and nothing more. Justice needs to be remixed so we can hear his bass. We still have the rough mixes though.
