I'm really think of getting a del Sol soon.
these cars are so fun to own and tune

Lol nah nah how come ur selling urs
Selling mine to soon. 150,000 miles, all original. runs amazing. Thinking like $4,000. What ya think
Hey man great video !! I was wondering i just bought a short shifter for my 93 del sol.. Should i use same bushings ? Dust seal and ball seat ?.. Did you use same hardware and feel a no difference other than the short throw..? Hope to hear from you JJ Thanks!
Yes yes I used the same hard from car and other thing change was the throw.... feels great after install warning tho don't over tight the bolts on the clap under the car
Cheers
Building a del Sol myself. How is the short shifter? How big of a difference did it make and about how much taller is it then the stock one?
oh nice how come you dont have posted? short shift came out a bit too tall when i would go into first or third i would sometime hit the front of the radio i ended up cutting the thread part and reinstalling the knob and it's more shorter now i have a update vid coming soon stay tuned and you can see in that vid it's about 1-2" taller didn't like the taller shifter had to cut
JJMAX2007 I haven't posted in awhile. I'mma try to get back into it. Been busy at work. And my phone editing program is expired so I can't use it. So I've been trying to figure out all of that. But I do plan on posting a video very soon about my del Sol.
Video editing program*
oh awesome cool...
keep me posted look forward to your vids
I tried a short shifter. Bad idea. The clutch hydraulics couldn't keep up. Had a machine shop modify the stock lever to use the same bearings as a Skunk2 and added a stainless braided clutch hose, Omni half step CMC and Energy Suspension shifter bushings. Much better both street and track.
Oh wow.... I'm just a ebay dude putting my car together you seem to be way more advanced than me.... cheers
@@jjmax2007 granted it's been years but I used to race a 93 Del Sol SI in Super Street class. Idk about now but back then it required proof the car was street legal. Incase you are not aware, a weakness in the EG and EK rear suspension is the OEM camber and toe arms are prone to warping and bending.
Fyi: if anyone reading this intends to install racing harnesses, go 5 point with the correct seat for your height. Better to possibly crunch your junk than submarine the lap belt in an accident.
For the record sir, you do good work. I'm no professional, just have a good bit of personal experience and my own style.
That's great information thanks for the heads up
Cheers
At the end of the video, when you show the picture of where you got the shifter. There's these 2 gold looking pieces in the picture. What are those?
Its the locking pin for the shifter cknes with the package at least for me it did not aure where your ordering yours from
@@jjmax2007 oh thanks. Mine came with those too. Ordered it from Andy's auto sport. It's a revo shifter. I couldn't figure out where they go though. On the bearing? Idk haha
Oh oh lol ok cool
@@jjmax2007 so where exactly do those lock pins go?
I have a del sol that has coil overs but its sways alot from the back
oh wow what set do you have?
JJMAX2007 not quite sure they came with the car
it's always best to change to a set you are familiar with or go back to stock
How does a new shifter help ?
Well I did this for many reasons let me list just a few
1. This help the throw is shorter
2. Its a bit stiffer than oem
3. It feels more direct from gear to gear
4. Its all pretty lol
But for real tho the oem one in a car this old is going to be loose and the throw seems off just saying
@@jjmax2007 thanks i have a del sol as well. Will look into it. Doing this should i change the shift gears as well.?
@@whoone9211 i would not i mean you don't have to at least
Hey bro I think you put it on backwards I’m pretty sure the bend is supposed to be facing you not foward idk tho just saying
Yea yea ur right by the end or the next vide with the radio and speaker upgrade shows its installed the other way but yea
About how long is this gonna take
What do u mean?? Not sure the question
I'm doing my on a 2000 Honda civic si but I think the reason your hitting you radio is cause you have it backwards lol
Is is true I turned it around u can see it in other vids that have it showing thanks for the heads up
@@jjmax2007 I think you sold the car by now but yea I installed my and I love it feel and shift good I'm on the move working on my 2000 Honda civic si I have a video post on my page of how it look now once I get my paint and hub done I'll post more just did the master and slave and linkage now just waiting on those
Nice nice will check it out
What's the brand called ?
Its a off brand from ebay....
You look the same as j marsh tuning
Oh wow I dont know this person... but cool
