    Hey scooch. Yep had to fix that leak proble. With mine aswell. The rear window troth is another one you'll need to do in the del sols also. Anyway we had our del sol vandalized. Acouple weeks ago and i learned some tricks to fix them that daved a ton of money. Thought you and others might take something from our unfortunate circumstance and helps the car community. Btw continue with what your doing. Great content and still following your channel.

      Hey Patrick, really appreciate that comment. Means a lot to hear people still enjoy my videos. I can't believe someone vandalized your car! Im so sorry to hear that. It feels like not that long ago you sent me some pictures of the progress and how it was almost done! I just watched your videos though, looks like you were able to get it cleaned up pretty well. And rear window troth, is that the spashing I hear when I'm driving sometimes? I keep hearing people say its the gas tank but I don't buy it haha. This cabin leak just came out of no where so thankfully now I can track it without ruining the carpet anymore

      Yes if you remove your rear trim and rear storage compartments youll have access to both the rear window panel and the fuel pump. Be warned of water everyware if its really full. Now would be a good time as you have the carpet out. Anyway youll see a black panel that has bolts all the way around the perimeter 10mm if memery serves. Once they are all out carefully seperate the bonding glue between the panel and the rear firewall. Carefull not to bend the panel. Might have to remove the bolts in the center connecting the window track aswell cant remember. Once you have that panel off you'll see the "troth" not reallybsure if thats what its called but thats were the water is. Clean the 2 plugs one on passagerside and driverside in that troth and that will allow drainage. Also clear the drain hoses coming from the upper most corner of the trunk were the sail panels meet the windows edge...( youll see them to either side of the troth just follow them up..it will make sence. That will take care of all of your water drainage to the rear of the car.

      @@patrickdavis2009 wow awesome, thank you so much for that! I'm definitely gonna pull that apart now and take a look. There was very little water when I removed the rear storage in this video but even a few drops is enough for me to make sure there isn't any clogging anywhere

      @@jamesharrison4272 so all I pulled out was the carpet since it was so disgusting. When I did the engine swap and sold the car I took the carpet out of the new car, put it in this car and put a new red carpet in the newly purchased sol. Sorry to disappoint haha

    My passenger floor rotted out in the same exact spot, working on patching it now. Drivers side around the fuel door release is rotted thru too and my drivers seat won't go far enough forward to get the two bolts on the back, anyone got any tips for getting them out?

    • @scooch988
      @scooch988  2 года назад +1

      I definitely would take a look if you can, its easy to pull them out and either replace the carpets (only a couple hundred bucks for a new one) or just put the old one back in. Then you can see if you need to repair the floor in any way

      @@scooch988 I've been looking for the new carpet and it's alot cheaper than I thought it would be. I'll replace it eventually but that repair bill is still stinging my @$$

    Was there any noticeable difference in acceleration? Did you record the 0-60 before and after? Thanks, I’m quite intrigued

      Haha I did not, I only really pulled 30 or 40 pounds out of the car im assuming. And it all went back in besides the carpet after I finished the video. It certainly was fun seeing the looks I got when I had thr top down and only one seat though!
