Also, I got so caught up researching Little Dipper, I didn't notice that Monster Mouse never actually opened. Whoops. And yes, the train at Fiesta Texas also goes inside of the quarry wall. In the video, I was referring to amusement/thrill rides and not transportation rides. Finally, Bolt can also be found on the Carnival Celebration and brand new Carnival Jubilee.
I've been to Clifton Hill many times since 2003 and i would never belive to see a coaster on top of Frankenstein's haunted house, i'd love to see a video featuring the former attractions of that amusement area one day
I've noticed on all your videos you only read comments from men only that's sexist I've left no end of comments on your different roller coaster videos & none have been chosen I suppose you don't like people from the UK I've had enough of been ignored I will unsubscribe now.
@@naarahjanemorris3121 I can assure you the comments are all chosen randomly.
@@ThemeParkCrazyhey, I'm ex employee of the Amsterdam dungeon and can tell you more about Reaper if you like :) including some interersting facts about its layout, current location and operation, and why it adventully got removed.
@@schagerbaantje Sounds awesome! I'd love to hear it! Feel free to comment or send an email to themeparkcrazy1992@gmail.com !
Idk what’s crazier, a roller coaster on a Burger King or a roller coaster in a church 😭😭
Both of these.
a roller coaster in church for sure
The church! The Burger King one is in the middle of a tourist area with a bunch of other stuff. I keep meaning to ride it. but I also keep going to Niagara Falls when it's winter.
“Reaper, Drop Ride to Doom!” I think there was a missed opportunity to name this coaster something else. Being that it was built inside a church, it could have been called “The Holy Roller.”
Holy roller name stolen from another reply from a comment
I like the name never had chance to go on but it was in the Amsterdam dungeon
I don't know. That name is already badass.
Here come old flat top,
He come groovin up slowly
He got ju-ju eyeball,
He one holy roller
The Beatles - Come Together
I was actually ON the high roller in Las Vegas when the rear wheels fell off. I was in the front row. They actually popped one of the windows off the building and we all climbed in through it. I haven't been to the stratosphere since then and I lived in Vegas for years after.
That sounds terrifying!😳
@@wendelcleghorn7950 I go all over the world riding coasters. But that by far was the most insane experience I hope to never have again. !!
We would have loved that. When we went to Vegas, they had already dismantled it. Wanted to go on Insanity, but was too tall 🤬
I love your channel and all your content. I'm the parent of a differently abled child (an ADA rider) who loves going to amusement parks. I like that you always point out that roller coaster should be for everyone. While you do mention loading/unloading times you never complain about the slow loading of ADA riders. I've helped my child onto a lot of rides and some people have not been so kind about it slowing down the loading time. But it's nice to know there are fellow amusement park goers (and rollercoaster fans) that welcome everyone.
"Let's end on a good note for number one"
*Proceeds to still mention a defunct coaster* lol
It's weirdly reassuring to know that no matter how badly I screw up at my job, I'm not any of the people who thought building a roller coaster that ended up never operating on the roof of a department store in the middle of a major city was a good idea.
even tho I'm not a coster enthusias, I love watching your videos when I'm relaxing or as bg noise when playing games. I love learning about different and niche coasters/parks aswell as learning the terminology from you 🖤
Glad you like them! There are many videos I use as background noise too!
In my opinion, Iron Rattler is a top tier RMC. The airtime & scenery are just amazing to witness, for sure the best coaster in Texas!
The only bad part is the brakes immediately after the tunnel.
Isn’t it a fellow SpongeBob
The Frank-n-coaster isn’t “arguably” janky. It just is janky. My heart sank as I neared the station and realized that the operators were giving us a second go around.
I refused to ride it when we reached the top. I gave my ticket to a friend. Nope. I was recovering from a back injury that occurred earlier that year.
I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to make a ride based on the grim reaper in a church, like who gives the thumbs up for that?!?
i think it's hilarious tbh
@@N_Drogyny ironic for sure
I would've called it the holy roller
@@laughythaklown7661within the Spiritbox!
@@laughythaklown7661 oh heck nah 💀💀
Frank' N Coaster (Burger King Coaster) has by far the most interesting location of any roller coaster that I've ridden! But that's what makes it so cool 😂
honey wake up, theme park crazy just dropped a new vid
I'll say here right now, the High Roller is probably the scariest looking but fondly memorable and iconic placements for a coaster of all time.
Honestly a roller-coaster next to a Burger King sounds sick.
Erm, aktuly it’s ON IT
Who on earth had the idea to rename the Stratosphere tower to "The Strat"?
That name has already been used since 1954. 🎸
I have ridden the Frankenstein roller coaster recently. It was a little rough but a fun experience. I love your videos and you have taught me more about roller coasters than anyone else. - From my 12 year old son
11:34, Okay... The very idea of this happening, let alone the fact that it actually *did* once, is actually pretty terrifying... 😨
Okay, *WHO APPROVED A COASTER IN A CHURCH*
Merlin Entertainment.
I did
Clicked on the video because I grew up going to Clifton Hill, then noticed it was just uploaded, awesome!!
FYI, Frankenstein is not the green monster. Dr Frankenstein created the monster. Still a very peculiar place for a roller coaster. Thanks for the content!
Seeing the frankenstein roller coaster was a big surprise as I've been to Niagara falls many times in my life since I live in Canada. Watching the coaster make it's rounds on top of the burger king always fascinated me as a child
i went on the burger king coaster a couple months ago. it was terrifying not because it was intense becuase it was sketchy despite being built only four years ago it still felt like i was going to fall off at multiple points. it did have a good view of the applebees though.
Crazy facts:
The Cruise ship poster was mentioned in a National Geographic Kids comic as part of some future technology.
Also the Oriental Pearl tower and the Stratosphere were shown in "Life After People"
That reaper coaster was stylish, and that’s all it needed to be
Used to go to Sports Plus a lot with camp. Thriller Coaster was horror/graveyard themed, hence the coffin shaped cars. Don't remember it being that janky, but that was decades ago and I don't remember it well.
Fun fact: The location for Sports Plus was taken over by a gym. I think it's an LA Fitness now.
I find it very fitting to have a rough wooden coaster named “Rattler”!
Reaper isn't getting relocated, it's completely renovated and rebuild at Soldium Staalbouw, most likely waiting to be sold. Pictures of it are on Coasterpedia.
Also, maybe a rides in weird places video next? We have Euroscoop here in the Netherlands, which is an observation tower on top of an observation tower, truly stunning
Thanks for the info! I can always count on you! 👍
I got to ride VR Rollercoaster on a 5th grade field trip to China. It was so cool and is definitely my rarest credit
I personally have a VR and there is an application where it’s just roller coaster simulations. Roller coasters, that you can jump off the tracks, ride through the land of dinosaurs, outer space..
At least if you feel sore after riding franken coaster, you can immediately get Burger King to cheer you up some.
The little dipper’s history and location was wild 😮
Fun fact about 7 "Linnunrata eXtra" at Linnanmaki. Even though it is inside, when it rains, they need to stop operations, for whatever reason. (at least back in 2015)
Same thing for the old Disaster Transport at Cedar Point. It’s more than likely leaking issues within the building
@@SingleRiderReak It's not the case anymore at least, and hasn't been an issue for a while. But I'm not sure why once upon a time they would've had to stop operations during rain.
@@SingleRiderReakYes. I remember that. I never could understand why they'd shut it down as a kid.
Rode High Roller when i was a kid. Glad i wasnt aware of the derail...it was already scary being that high up lol. Thats terrifying. The Big Shot is insane too...tons of fun. It feels like standing on top of a giant pencil looking down from the sky.
My kids did the cable jump off the Stratosphere. They loved it.
we rode the Frank’n Coaster last weekend and it was such an odd experience but so cool haha
Frank’n coaster was originally built in a former motion theater. 2 weird places!
In my country, we have something called the Titanic exhibition centre and there's like a wee roller coaster in that. Shows you what it was like down in the belly of the beast
I was surprised you didnt make this video before!
Wasn't expecting Linnunrata (Nobody ever mentions the Extra in the name) to be on this list from my home park (I live a 2 minute walk away) but I guess now that you mention it being inside an old water tower, it is kinda unusual yeah. The park also uses that space around the coaster for horror mazes in the autumn and for storage, so they've now started adding more tunnels around the track in parts so that if you don't wear the VR goggles (which I never do) you can't see the storage areas and only see the space theming.
I was lucky enough to ride Iron Rattler. It was EPIC!
The Frankenstein one is crazy because I remember the dark ride the coaster used to be part of on Long Island...
The Monster Mouse at Amusement Park Drive In actually never operated and has been relocated to Historic Hawes Farm
Unfortunately the lights haven't been turned on in the tunnel of Iron Rattler in forever. I think that was only done in the 1st couple years it opened :(
“A large sculpture of Flan-“
“Frank- why is this a tongue twister😕😕” 😭🙏🏾
that made me laugh so hard lol
Frankensteins Monster :P
"Overtaken by trees" is one of the funniest phrases I've ever heard
Bolt is also on Carnival Celebration which I will be going on in September. Cant wait to try this coaster!
Having ridden 'Reaper! Drop ride to Doom' it felt more like a darkride than a coaster. It was a nice ending to a cool attraction.
You should do a video on roller coasters with backstories like that have storytelling in them (ex: Dinosaur at Disney, it has a whole storyline you follow in the ride)
Don Quixote isn’t so much Japan’s Walmart as what would happen if a dollar store and Spencer’s had a baby. All the random goods and cheapness of a dollar store but with the weird vibes and musty smell of Spencer’s. Incidentally the one in this video in Roppongi was like a 15 minute walk from my house when I lived in Tokyo and was where I bought my Halloween costume a couple of years ago.
I'll tell ya what's really crazy... wearing sunglasses inside your house while eating off brand cereal like at 0:42
Good list! In my opinion MASS MOCA (art museum) was a pretty weird place to ride a coaster, but it was super fun and a very unique ride experience.
Also, the Herschel Mad Mouse from Amusement Park Drive In actually got purchased by the owner of Historic Hawes Farm in North California and hes hoping to restore it and open it up in the future!
17:02 Reaper: Drop ride to doom is currently slated to move to rotterdam amusement park, which is being made by some rich amusement parks fan. However, it's been delayed by over 6 years now and one coaster that was supposed to be coming has been cancelled because it didn't pass the safety test. it was going to be a shuttle loop but it was going to be slanted at a 10 degree angle from pictures available online. it's currently unkown what will happen to reaper in the park, but if it goes in i'd assume it would be a dark ride/coaster hybrid. it's the mostlikely coaster of all currently or formerly planned to come because it originates from the same country. I did a deep dive on this coaster a few weeks ago.
That Burger King Roller coaster is hands down the worst roller coaster I've been on!!!!
Frank N Coaster is 40 minutes from where I live! Thx for featuring it!
Speaking of coasters built atop shopping malls, you've also got _Boomerang Challenge_ at Trans Studio Theme Park in Bali, Indonesia. It used to be the former _Boomerang_ at Pleasure Island (Cleethorpes, UK) and unlike the Half-Pipe mentioned here, it's still there and operating to this day!
A ROLLER COASTER IN A CHURCH?!
Which one?
The concept of a roller coaster in a church is so awesome. If ever recreated, the goths would absolutely eat that up.
Nice video!
I was honestly dumbfounded when i heard about the last ride being in a church! I like the idea of it being the grim reaper but in this case being in a church i would have the devil replacing the grim reaper. I love the frankenstein coaster being above the burger king cause who wouldn't want to go have a bite to eat after riding a coaster and enjoying the view while riding around and having fun! And to the guy who voiced the ThemeParkCrazy don't be embarrassed over getting tongue tied saying frankenstein over and over again, it happens to everybody! Love your videos btw!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, for the ride that was on top of a building(i believe it was japan?) who would have thought it would have been a good idea to put it way up there and not have a bunch of people nearby voicing their concerns about the location of the coaster and if there was an accident how was emergency personnel gonna get up there fast enough-but thank God the ride never opened cause that is one of my worst fears is if i lived in a apartment complex and something like this was built on top of my apartment building and something bad happened.
Thank you Theme Park Crazy for your awesome videos!!! I have ever only been on one rollercoaster in my whole life. It's a now defunct coaster call The Dragon at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa. It's a cool theme park you should check it out sometime and do a video on it. Keep up the amazing work ❤❤❤
I am happy I have participated in the poll, and the option I voted on actually made it to first place. : )
The Carnivle cruise ship Jubalee also has Bolt on it. I'm setting sail in August and I'm so excited about riding it.
I just rode it on the Mardi Gras twice this past December. It's okay. Not forceful or extreme at all. Even when you're going the maximum speed. It's also a bit pricy.
2:22 Ad end.
Canadian born here. Can't believe it! As soon as I saw the icon of the Frankenstein roller coaster I was like. Oh yeah I remember that ride from when I was a kid. It was weird to me. Even as an adult. I still scratch my head when I look at that ride. I'm like somebody must have been hitting the weed 😂
i know you have a lot of videos on dark rides good and bad, but it could be cool to have a video entirely dedicated to the classic Ghost Train, the scariest ones out there or smth
The "Reaper, Drop Ride To Doom!" coaster had so much missed opportunity! If they had made it bigger, longer, chucked in a slow inversion and some near-misses with animatronics, then it could've been a lot more memorable! Just my ideas :)
Really enjoyed this video too 😃
yes we have crazy coasters too, greetings from the netherlands
I went on the Frankenstein coaster at Niagara Falls last summer, it was very rough but the views of the city were cool
As somebody who treasures drive-in movie theaters and lives near one, the news about Amusement Park Drive-In is unfortunate. I feel like making a video documentary about the place since it was so unique.
I guess Burger king let Frankenstein have it his way and him build a roller coaster on top of their roof. Frankenstein Must really love his Whoppers.
I’ve actually ridden the frank-n-coaster (The Burger King one) and although the ride sucked, since I rode it at around 10:00 PM, I was overtired and hyped up when we got to go-around again, it was an awesome core memories with my cousins and was one of my greatest moments on my Canadas wonderland-Niagara falls road trip from MA…
I have a concern that Brava ( the roller coaster in an art museum) is not on here, if it appears once on another video, them ill be impressed
The Little Dipper was the first roller coaster I ever rode. It was the same model you showed but was at Midway Park in Maple Springs NY.. That began my obsession for coasters..
The high roller derailing comment broke me. Lol
Omg! I was shouted out!!! Mispronounced my name but that’s okay! Thank you Theme Park crazy!!!!!
Wow that's crazy😂😂
I rode the grim reaper coaster years ago when i first went into the Amsterdam dungeon, i think it's still my most unique coaster credit to date. Was short but fun, especially acting as a climax after all the scares that happened before
In Finland , we have a space themed rollercoaster inside a water tower
Oh hey- I’ve been on the Frank N’ Coaster! It’s a been wobbly- but I love it since it fits the whole theme of being ‘Scary’ It was a ton of fun since I went on it with my mom!
At least on the Celebration, you cant control your speed. I think all three ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration, and Jubilee) now operate where riders cannot control their own speed.
So sad that many of these coasters are gone. ☹️
The rattler looks really similar to the predator at six flags Darien lake, it is the worst ride I've ever been on. It will cause back pain.
I'm born and raised Austin Texas 😂 The Rattler gave so many people WHIPLASH being an all wooden coaster. It's been modified a few times just because of that drop. Didn't know it used to be a rock quarry.
Also I've been to the Frankenstien coaster as a child never rode it.
About the Reaper Drop ride to doom, I know a plan was to relocate it to a brand new amusement park in the Netherlands called Attractiepark Rotterdam. This would be a downtown amusement park in the middle of Rotterdam, one of the largest cities in the Netherlands. The original plans included the Reaper, as well as a Schwarzkopf Shuttle loop which had been purchased from a park in Japan named Toshimaen. Though in 2018 the original plans seemed to fall through. Still it looks like the people behind this planned park have been insistant, especially the entrepeneuer Hennie van der Most and the parks facebook is still active. Theyve been slowly putting in rides on the site in the Rotterdam harbour, and have in a local newspaper announced they plan to open the park to the public in March 2025. Van der Most claims that the park won't open until it is completely ready and basically perfect in his eyes.
I can confirm as someone who rode Iron Rattler last month and say that the red and blue lighting effects inside the quarry wall tunnel are no longer there. It’s just pitch black.
These are definitely interesting places for coasters
You'd think that a roller coaster inside a church would be a bit more Heaven based, or at least more Bible based.
I don't think scaring people with a Grim Reaper is going to save anyone from Hell.
It was part of the Amsterdam Dungeon. Not much religion going on there except for talking about horrible things the church did.
The Amsterdam dungeon is a horror attraction I don't think they care about being biblical lol
For all Long Island-based coaster enthusiasts, if the Burger King coaster seems familiar, it's because that's the same coaster that used to be inside Sports Plus in Lake Grove. It was never scrapped.
I heard Lake Grove NY and my jaw nearly dropped. I only knew that plot of land as where the LA Fitness was and had no idea Sports Plus was a thing. Truly a product of its era that I never experienced
I never knew insanity went defunct, when did that happen??
Last year.
The First Coaster I Ever Rode Was Frank N Coaster 😂
That's Iconic af.
Torn between wanting to ride a Canadian coaster in a bonkers location and not wanting to because prices on Clifton Hill are absolutely stupid.
When the Franken-coaster was on Long Island it was themed to a haunted house that’s why the cars were coffin themed!! It was one of my favorite rides at sports plus!!!! 🤗
Look how bored the man in the back is at about 17:03. He is looking at his phone.
Ive got two of these coaster credits! The water tower one in Finland and the one in Amsterdam!
Cool I’ve gone on the Frankenstein one on top of a burger king
I just was on the Mardi Gras last summer--the roller coaster was exorbitantly expensive to ride, plus it had very limited hours of operation, further limited by weather considerations...so I didn't get to ride it >.>
*_I may be riding the cruise ship coaster soon. So wish me luck on that._*
knowing me i’d make myself sooo sick riding that burger king ride. I love burger king and would probably make the stupid move of eating beforehand lol 😂
I suspect the coaster inside American Dream shown as a similar model actually is the same physical coaster that was on the building. The timeline lines up for it to be a relocation. Also reducing teardown fees could be because a party interested in relocating the coaster simply got involved. Also surprised an Intamin half pipe hasn't been built on a cruise ship. I mean it can't valley from the wind and it would be a real coaster, unlike Mauer's powered monorail they pretend is a coaster.
The craziest roller coaster I went on was the barnstormer at Disney World
15:31 So the reaper is a guy in a chicken suit?
