The thing with launchers is that most guns can do a lot of what they do good enough, and since you can get guns throughout all your progression rather than at the later parts, people are just more drawn to what they know. I do feel like the Nail Gun is my favorite and used it a lot during my first playthrough back in mobile 1.3
The game is designed for darts to fill the same specialist niche as rockets for pre-Plantera. I did a run of only using darts & rockets, and it was a smooth transition between the two, with the only major problem being having to use a pre-mech weapon against Plantera herself. Although, I still do believe that there should be pre-Plantera rocket launchers, and post-Plantera dart launchers respectively.
@@SvingsIt would be cool if the flare gun could be used for a variety of upgrades. Like maybe a flamethrower, rocket launcher, and some other stuff. It’s quite literally useless, and having a multi path upgradable weapon would make the 12 flare guns I have worth it.
In my ranger playthrough, I keep the shroomite helmet in my magic piggy bank along with a launcher. If I need one, it's a quick switch. I have both rockets that can and can't break tiles.
Well, Range - the class that most often passes me by, but I have put together a good set of accessories for it (Which I even compiled as for archery/crossbow and firearms) But what about missile damage? It would be nice to have some fantastic-bombastic missile damage accessories. (even for a damn yo-yo they exist)

Ppl sleep on things like the electrosphere launcher. With the right setup and timing it can 1 shot the master mode Destroyer. It deals massive damage and its incredibly good against erratic flying enemies The grenade launcher is also another one ppl rly rly sleep on, it shits out a lot of grenades that also do good damage. Has some pretty good utility bcz with dry rockets its the best thing you can use to dry out a big body or water. Or fill it with water. Or lava. Or whatever
What always gets my goofy ahh with launchers, is the projectile speed. And I don't get why there isn't much for outright explosion immunity or resistance The it theoretically would come down to skill to hit your TF2 pipes lmao

Electrosphere is one of my favorite niche weapons in the game, I use the Sky Dragon's Fury for its alt-fire which shares its projectile with the Electrosphere, and they're such a blast to use against large, stationtionary and/or segmented enemies.

Launchers would be 10 times more popular if we had pre hardmode and pre plantera options
issue is that the weapon type only comes in the last third of the game

No, I think the earliest launcher you can get is from Plantera
If there were at most 3 launchers in pre-hardmode then it would be more popular but the earliest you can get one is Post-Plantera.

If I’m doing a Ranger playthrough i low-key always go for the Snowman Cannon. It’s such a fun weapon and it’s pretty useful too.
