I did something very similar, but along the left wall I have a countertop and 4 electrical outlets. All my small appliances are lined up across the counter and I use them in my pantry rather than hauling them out every time. Changed my life! 😂
Would the length hold up to heavy items like cast irons without bowing? Looks to me like it should have a vertical support halfway on the long side 🤷🏾♀️
@@mhxxd4 200lbs per side. 600lbs along the whole side. Of course it's just an estimate. Your pantry might have a different size and studs in different places behind the wall. If you feel you need to add supports that's of course also an option. For me in my specific situation it works just fine without extra supports. Our pantry is filled with all kind of kitchen tools and we are not concerned about stability. Rock solid 🙂
The shelf material is 1/4" maple plywood (4x8 sheets). Other than that i used approx. 40 pieces 2x3x8 For tools you need a drill, level, tape measure, hammer, pencil, square and also helpful is a small stepladder.
Material price was approx. $300.- See sketches here: onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AHXfOTa0nWlT8Es&id=F7054E8F5CF7D61%2115429&cid=0F7054E8F5CF7D61&parId=root&parQt=sharedby&o=OneUp
how did you manage anchoring to studs for strength in the corners? Doesn't look like your shelves are 16 inches wide to grab a stud in the corners, so wondering how you managed that?. I am in the process of doing something very similar and wanted to get any tips you might have.

I considered this as well but my wife didn't like it :-)
Such a missed opportunity for like a breakfast bar with cabinets. This a huge pantry!
Thought about it but decided against. We have lots of space in our kitchen.
@@ProjectDIY82didnt have to be a breakfast bar but it was a missed opportunity to be creative in such a huge space. Now it looks builder grade 😹😹
Breakfast bar w no windows 😂
My dream…a walk in pantry! Thx 4 sharing👍🏾
Any time! Thx
I was thinking of using a Dream Box
as a kitchen pantry.
Wal-Mart also has shelves with doors.
Me too
I'm doing a similar sized & arrangement pantry shelving project for my wife next week, this was very helpful, thanks.
You are so welcome!
❤ this!! My dream is to have one in a basement as cold storage. Love love this!!
You can do it!
Looking good! Friendly tip: I think those 2x3s will still need support posts running down to the floor like a wire shelving pantry would have.
Thanks.
Yes, support posts would make it even stronger but after a weight test we decided that they are not needed. It's rock solid.
@@ProjectDIY82 what sort of supports would you use if it was needed?
@@melaniestricklin8396 If it would be needed I'd probably use 2x3. A lot of viewers mistakenly believe this shelving is floating but it's not.
@@ProjectDIY82 ok thanks
@@ProjectDIY82what’s the difference between floating shelves and these shelves?
Looks great! Why no middle support on the long sides?
No need
I looooove it walk in pantry🤩🤩
Thank you!!!!

Yes, absolutely. No need for any additional support.
What sort of weight do these hold? I’m designing floating shelves in my pantry as well and curious if I can do without supports.
They easily hold 200lbs each. Absolutely no need for additional supports.
@@ProjectDIY82 what exactly do you do mean by each? Only 200lbs total along the whole side might be a problem

I love the size of your pantry!
Thank you.
What did you use on top of the frames and do you have a list of all tools and parts needed ?

Too bad it’s not in my house! Love it! ❤️
Thx
Love it! My wife wants me to build custom shelves for our super small pantry. How deep are the shelves?
Thank you. They are 16" deep.

Did you use screws for the shelves?
Yes, the shelves are screwed to the 2x3s
This is the size of a lot of kitchens lol. Lovely stuff
Thx
Awesome!!!
Thank you

Shelves are exactly 16" wide. Nevertheless I had to screw the corners slightly angled to get to the corner studs.
How much thin wood slates are used?thanks
5 sheets
This looks great, nice work
Thanks!
Where is the full vedio with all details plz?
Unfortunately, there's no full video. Sorry.
