Including the garage! Omg that tool wall?! 😮💨
I swear every time I watch one (many) of your videos and you “mess up” it makes me come back and watch more of your videos! You normalize woodworking, the process, and show hey you may mess up and your plans may not come out as you first want them but you still go for it! THANK YOU!!! It truly helps me especially as a beginner!
Well said, it's important to see where you can go wrong and how to fix it!~
So much this. We watch so we learn from others mistakes.
i know he is so good
I was just thinking this! So many RUclipsrs make it look like there’s nothing that could go wrong and makes me feel like I must be an idiot that I struggle so much. I love the honesty of this channel
It's actually realistic and when you realize it happens to professionals it doesn't make the average DIYer feel like such a failure as I do after watching all of the highly edited (basically fake) videos.
omg i love how he show everything because thats whatwe are facing as normal ppl trying to fix or upgrade our houses.. so much respect and i love it
You probably could have used one of those water leaks to make a faucet for water running straight to the coffee pot.
XO Macenna is a must watch for her skill. Texas kitchen and house restoration.
Brother!!! I felt your frustration!! I have been there too many times!!! You have certainly earned much respect!!! Love ur channel and ur work
What a good job! You're much more resilient than I am. I chose the easy way by not cutting outlet holes in tiles and opted for those in counter pop-up outlets.
Thank you the laughs! Awesome renovation of your pantry…..
I watched as long as I could, almost to the end. That’s a very nice extension to your small kitchen. And I am a poet and didn’t know it :-).
21:41 that was my architect friend was saying the other. The starting point is the key
Carpenter's motto dude, measure twice cut once. 😉
I would love to have a pantry like this by my kitchen. This is awesome.
Usually you want to close the door to the ugly pantry but not this one, the door would stay open as it’s beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻
I love these videos man. Just such quality, and so relatable. Keep em comin!
Love your wife being in the videos! Your family is so sweet! Great job!!
Mr. Build ! I love the pantry you build is a beautiful , thank you to share and you ideas inspiration🥰
Been away for too long. The style of your video is totally different, but not mad at it.
As someone previously commented, I'd try with a fine tooth cutoff wheel. I have some I do steel with that are just an abrasive. It'll keep the cut consistent rather than have a more dynamic loading on the tile. Also I'd put the tile on something soft or install it first so that there is more contact that can transfer force out of the piece.
Looks lovely, but I bet a year later it's back to a pantry, once you realised there was barely anywhere to put food stocks within reaching distance. But yay, coffee, yum.
This is absolutely amazing. Great job.
Good lord, somebody please press start on that microwave! 🤣
Oh yeah, the pantry looks amazing. 😎
Looks amazing!! When you revealed the price of $1900 I thought nice work! But then I remembered didn’t he say he was going to do it for $300?
Edit so I went back to look and pretty sure you were saying the cabinets for $300😂😂😂 also yes totally wipe the glue (and boogers under the table!!)😂😂
The homeowner started of with four times the pantry space I have. Still. Not. Enough. 😆
And he has even less when he finished. Just a horrible pantry.
It may have been a pain but that time job looks *amazing*
Great work, brother.
How's your new ECMD (Lowes Moulding) Rep? Keeping your shelves stocked of product?
Great idea for space! Simply, beautiful area created where your mixer, coffee, juicer is all set up and not have to put it away. I will be redoing my kitchen and I have a question, what sprayer did you use to paint?
what a great build!
Your trials in building make me feel like I'm normal when I keep having issues with my own projects.
Ryobi heaven!!!!
I'm about to redo my pantry that is about the same size. I think I am going to go the used cabinet route though from the Habitat for Humanity Restore and see what I can find. I figure that can cut some of the cost and time
Excellent job! Thanks for sharing
I envy ur toolshed on behalf of my husband he would be mind blown🥰🥰
It is not, in fact, the tiniest walk in pantry. Mine is under the stairs and, I assure you, it's even tinier in terms of usable space.
Great job 👍👏
I think the link in your description is broken - giving a 404 error. That gendome looks dope!
I Like Mr. Builder
Love your Pantry,
looks amazing! Are there any considerations when hooking up 4 new outlets to a power source like that?
Really nice project and good to see you sometimes screw up as well. But I don't like that none of the tools at the end are actually plugged. I doubt it looks as clean if all of them have their ac cables attached like it probably will be in daily use. Why hide them for the video? And a serious question. Why not stain/paint the stuff before bringing it to the small room? On the TV shows they paint it as well already build up in the kitchen but why? So much more work to protect other parts.
Next video: Building a ladder for our pantry so we can actually reach the top cabinets 😄
it looks like the pantry is now the new kitchen lol
fun fact: i hesitated on buying the ryobi link modular set. they stopped selling them in stores. online only. stores marked them down 50% and i missed the sale by 1 hour. FML
hmm what do we think happens when we breathe in drywall dust and demo dust and plastic off gas.. yeah, it gets stuck in our lungs and causes damage.. Dad your daughter needs you to stay healthy so you can be vibrant & healthy when you get older. It doesn't seem like it now but when you get my age, you're gonna feel everything you didn't do when you were young.. and you can't take it back once the body starts to be broken.. Not being able to breathe is not joke for old folks. and being able to see.. wear safety glasses now, so you can see your grandchildren someday.. Hope you take this as lighthearted nagging from a little old lady who doesn't mean any disrespect..
I will only date guys that can build stuff from now on….. that’s my goal lol.
It's Beautiful !!!
Why is there no on off switch on your PowerPoints in America.?
I love this channel
Why didn't you put in a corner lazy Susan cabinet?
Did you dilute the paint before spraying?
Oh no! The countertop link leads to the trash can product. Could you share where you found the countertop decorative top? Thanks! :)
Oops i think I found it. Laminate or formica countertop from home depot!!!
what wood did you use for the countertops?
how does she reach the top cabinets?
Great Pantry! But compared to my pantry it is huge.
OMG man...apparently the shit star was in orbit when you did this project. I don't know how you didn't start throwing stuff.
I wish I had a husband that could do this! I have to hire someone to get this done how much you think labor will be????
looks good
I love how people think a walk in closet is a tiny pantry.
Just curious have you ever used RYOBI TOOLS/??
My grandfather always said Never judge a carpenter by his mistakes but by how the carpenter fixes the mistakes.
Great video my wife wanted the same thing on her pantry, turns out we are now building a house around the pantry she wanted. So much for my 300.00 budget.😢
Always how it goes 😂 Good luck!
my sorry for your wife i don't mean it in a bad way but she wanted so much for what?
😂😂😂
Best comment!
The fact that you show your mistakes and when it doesn’t go perfectly is the reason I love watching your videos. You’re actually realistic. And the final product always turns out so good. Super impressed man
Thanks for showing the 'oops' moments, it really helps noobs like me see that this stuff really is kind of tricky and mistakes can be fixed as you go. Especially when you're working for free for yourself and not analyzing the plans to death. The final product looks great!
I plan to death 🙋♀️ i cant afford to make mistakes, i do but it ends up costing more
First time watching your videos and I very much appreciated you showing the real REAL moments of frustration, confusion and "I'm done with this for today" before getting back at it and making a functional, beautiful addition to your kitchen.
Mr. Build is not only a beast at cabinet building but he's got a great sense of humor. Glad I found your channel.
Absolutely needed this video today. Doing a split home stair remodel, on the home stretch today. I just couldn't get my head right and kept messing up cuts and having to fix my work. Took a breather to watch this video and get my head right. Overcoming all the mistakes is what I needed. Getting off my ass now let's get this done! Thank you!
Kudos to you for moving forward calmly no matter what mishaps occur. So glad you are showing the difficult parts, as this is what helps us know what to expect and how to correct the problems. Thank you!
I always thought that the best thing about a pantry is being able to see everything you have got.
I agree. There's something kind of charming about a disorganized or very messy pantry. Not like a disaster but lived in. No one actually maintains super aesthetic pantries unless it's a personal hobby.
Love the itemized cost breakdown on the projects! It would be sweet if you also did an itemized time breakdown too -- e.g., X hours for the cabinet shells, Y hours for the drawers, Z hours for the shelves, etc..... I'm such a newb I have no idea how many hours a project like this takes.
His hours would be alot shorter than the hours of a new carpenter. To many variables. He might be able to do this in 2 days. And it take someone else a week or longer
A job well done, but it looks like you had way more functional food storage *before* the remodel, and after it looked like less of a pantry and more like a kitchen with all of those drawers. Also, that tiny space will function a whole lot better if you installed a pocket door.
Way to push through man, setbacks are just another opportunity to get creative and leave you feeling even more satisfied once you're done!
I really love the notion of having to have a place (with outlets so you don't have to move them) to put all the small appliances you use where they won't clutter up you kitchen countertops.
Good build. Although not part of the original plan, I would have put in a water line/spigot for the coffee and tea machines since you already had the wall opened up due to the unforeseen waterline issue. Not a big deal since it wasn't part of the original design. I know it's not that far to the kitchen to get the water, but I would look for opportunities to kick it up a notch as long as it doesn't cost too much.
$300 😂😂😂😂 estimates like a true contractor
Turned out beautifully! Love the tile even though it was such a pain. Awesome job!!
I had the electric outlets mounted under the cabinets themselves (in your case shelves) rather than cutting through the glass backsplash. Worked like a charm and were out of sight.
Love the butler's pantry. It was an old fabulous feature that a lot of remodelers were tearing out of older homes and not putting them in with new construction. So glad to see it back in again. Looks good with a modern finish. Fun video. Thanks for sharing the project!
We have a pantry in between the kitchen and the dining room - it's got sink, coffee station, junk drawers, and dishes. First kitchen designer wanted to tear it out to increase the already big kitchen! I like older houses bc each room and space has a purpose rather than one big catch all (ahem open floor plan).
@@amandao.8043 Open floor plans nearly always look messy and impractical to me.
This has given me hope for my tiny pantry! It looks great!
How awesome your pantry... your husband too... but let's focus on the pantry! lol...the envy of every single woman who watches this video!! Wow loved it. We too have a small pantry and I loved the idea of all your appliances plugged into the outlets - beautiful. Loved the color combination and that backsplash is gorgeous. Congratulations and enjoy it with lots of love and blessings!
Ha! That's not tiny. It definitely depends on one's personal perspective. Very pretty outcome. More than I could have imagined for the space. Great job!
Lol I was thinking the same thing and couldn’t believe no one else had said anything
For those tile cuts with the grinder, tape the square first and go slow and easy. You can get real stone counters for about $100 just by going to a granite and stone supplier and buying remnants from them for small projects like this.
The funniest part is when you said it would cost $300 😅 Looks good though!
To be fair he said the cabinets would be $300, not the entire project. Still pretty far off.
That's more like
a mini kitchen than an actual pantry. It's very attractive.
Two seconds in...that's what she said.
Great work. Love that you show the mistakes and frustrations that even experienced DIYers like yourself still make. Most RUclipsrs don't show that and make it seem like everything goes perfectly the first time.
Also going forward it would be interesting if you could add in, along with the price breakdown, the number of hours you spent working on each project.
Love your channel and the transparency that you show how challenging (and oftentimes frustrating)projects really are!
Looks amazing and worth the work 👏👏👏
I love how it turned out. It looks so much better and more functional than before. ❤
Are these water lines from his own redo of the bathroom? Or the previous owners/contractors? Those waterlines looked a bit familiar..
Yeah I was thinking too it was from the bathroom remodel they did.
Your project turned out beautiful 🤩 I'm glad you showed the problems that you encountered as well because many times we only see the before and after, and if we try to do a project and things don't turn out the way we see it in a video we just give up. Well done 👍🏻💖
Stealing power from a lighting source for kitchen appliances is not a good idea. Should have ran a 12/3 dedicated for the new outlets.
I love that you show the mistakes and challenges - the running out of room on the table saw is a prob I have as well. It did freak me out though that you aren’t holding onto the piece between the blade and the fence. That is a kickback waiting to happen (speaking from experience in my early days as a cabinetmaker). But the results were beautiful and functional! Great job!
The most honest carpentry channel lol. Love this!
Just found you this evening as I was taking a break from my project. I'm converting a hall closet into a pantry and I'm ticked off at the irregular walls. Seeing you show us that nothing is regularly sized calms me down. I'm using free shelves, $3 fir strips, a cheap Harbor Freight drill, and a jig saw to do this. I was concerned about the water lines in one of the walls but my house is old so doubt I can poke a hole in those metal water lines. BTW, I'm a single, 62-year-old female DIY'er who loves watching brilliant people creating stuff on YT. Thank you for posting!!
Great vid! Thanks for not editing out the issues you faced. Sometimes even the easy projects can have multiple problems. Hey, what did you do to flush up the outlets once you installed the tile? Again, great job 👍🏻 keep the good work.
electrical (caterpillar) spacers. or you can make some spacers out of 14awg wire
@@giovannimazariegos7943 got it. Thanks man 👍🏻
I saw a tip online where a guy uses 3/8” pex tubing for his electrical spacer.
Beautiful! Your wife is very lucky to have such a handy husband.
my wife literally finds stuff on pintrest and there goes my weekend. in the shop building
@@bjornjoseph same man, I totally feel that haha
Love it, looks amazing and seems super practical. I also love that you have build in a countertop for all the appliances! That space is not small though...you should see the kitchen space in my small German apartment. Most houses here do not have separate pantry at all, so this pantry seems huge to me.
never seen such things in Europe, we just don't buy too much, we eat what we bought then go buy more
The problem in America, depending on where you live, is that many of us don't have easy access to a grocery store. Many of us, including our friend here, live in either traditional suburbs or planned communities, in either case grocery stores usually are not convenient to where we live so we have to drive, sometimes long distances, to reach the store, this is why American homes tend to have a lot of food stuffs on hand since it's easier to stock up once a week or so instead of making daily trips to a store.
Yes we shop once a week too, we just don’t buy as much food as you do
This is America! We buy what we want and throw hella shit away years later after we discover we never used it. #Blessed. Anyways, skills and channel is dope plus wife is a dime plus he providing for family. It's simple and im inspired.
@Daryl P yes americans are soooo terrible because we buy a lot of food to keep on hand. It's a pretty dumb thing to feel superior about, but hey bro do your thing.
@@DominicNJ73 makes sense
That "tiny" pantry is at least 5 times bigger than ours 😢
I stopped using stud finders YEARS ago... Get you a good magnet. I use the ones sold on amazon to mount guns with... Run it back and forth until you find the screws. Works faster and much more accurate.
Tile should be cut with a WET saw.
12x12 sheets of mosaic tile would have been a lot easier.
Even subway tile would have been a lot easier.
You can do it for $300 bucks huh? $1,900 dollars later… isn’t that always the way? 31 years ago my husband didn’t want me to pay $20 dollars for a step stool for my daughter that I saw at a craft fair. “ I can make it for less” he said. $65 dollars later… But it’s ok because he made it out of cherry and it’s very sturdy and she has it for her baby now. The craft fair one would prove broken by now.
That's a SMALL pantry???? It's HUGE compared to mine! When I want to watch a "small pantry" organization video, I don't want to watch a huge one!!
