- Grab a cup of coffee and join me in my kitchen for a full look behind the scenes of every single cabinet, drawer, and closet as I show you how I organized each space. As a professional organizer, I spent my career helping other people get their kitchens organized, but now you get to see how I do it for myself. You’ll find areas that are ultra organized, areas that aren’t organized at all, and even one space that isn’t finished yet (and has never been shown on Instagram!). I hope you get some ideas and inspo, and I’ll be back with a Part 2 to share all my best tips for organizing your own kitchen.

Oh one thing. You need to keep onions and potatoes separate by a few feet, the onions let off a gas that makes the potato sprout
Oh thank you!! I didn’t know that and wondered why my potatoes sprouted so quickly.
Moving mopin today then lol
Oh thanks for the tip I keep them in two tier rack seperate no wonder they sprout
I think I'm the only person who does not like turntables in cabinets unless it's a deep corner cabinet. I find it easier to pull out a plastic bin to see what's in it. It's a better use of space, in my opinion. I like the ones at Dollar Tree that have handles.
That’s a great way to store things in cabinets! Makes it very easy to see it all at once. 🙌🏼
I have bins in the lower cabinets, but I find the turntables are great for that first shelf on the upper cabinets. I have some small caddys you can pull out on the very top shelf, like mini bins I guess you'd say but that's for infrequent use. Maybe us shorty's love the turntables 😂
From another shorty, I dislike turntables. With square or rectangular bins you can fit more items onto that all-important bottom shelf!
Hmm, I wonder if they'd work better for me on a top shelf??? 🤔 I never thought of that.
I have both.
The one place that turntables have worked for me was a 12" shelf where I stored oils and vinegars. I used them for spices for a long time, but never liked them.
Believe me when I tell you this is not an insult, but your organization of your kitchen reminds me of those videos from the ‘50’s that were really big on organizing your kitchen space into ‘centers’ : prepping, cooking, cleaning, storage.
Very well thought out. ❤️
Not an insult at all!! The 50’s housewives really knew what they were doing. 🥰
The pure excitement I felt when I saw how your measuring cups were laid out lol I hate having to dig around for mine in a drawer. That is such a great idea!
It’s such a small project but makes a big difference! 🙌🏼 you do have to train yourself to open the cabinets a little slower though. The first week you’ll hear a lot of clanking but you get used to opening gently.
I love the cubed storage in the closet for appliances that take up valuable real estate in the kitchen. Genius!
Thank you!! It makes it so easy to get out what you need without digging around everything. They all have their own little cubbies. 🥰
Those tea breaks sound divine without any technology.
I just really enjoy this type of content. Organizing and homemaking stuff is just so interesting.
So glad you found your way to my channel! Lots of organizing happens around here. 🥰
That blue table/island is gorgeous
Thank you! It was the easiest assembly too!
Could be a great coffee center
Where was it purchased?😊
@@AnuPalako oooh yes!!! That would look great!
Lela, thank you for this video. I’ve been going through severe depression, zero confidence, and a bunch of self doubt but this video is lighting up the mood for me. I feel like I can relate to you because I also organize my small apartment kitchen with purpose. Everything is thought out and planned-i.e. plates placed closest to dining table. Who knew 9 months making this video and it brings this much impact and positivity to someone you don’t know?! I appreciate you and please keep making videos because it helped me today to feel better and get through life. Happy Holidays to you 💜✨💫
I'm so glad it helps! Hope you had a great holiday season, and now that they're over you can dive right into decluttering and organizing. 🙌🏼
Lots of great ideas here. One thing I'm really happy I did is having the over-the-refrigerator cabinet built all the way out to the edge of the fridge with built in vertical dividers to store all of my larger baking pans, serving platters, etc. It's easy to reach that cabinet now and storing things vertically makes it easy to pull them out, too.
Thanks! And I love that you were able to stretch out the cabinet and add vertical dividers. That sounds so nice! 🤩
My house was built in the mid-1960s and has never been renovated (I inherited it from my mother). I have found some organizational items that have helped with this situation, such as pull-out cabinet shelves. Your idea of hiring someone to make some modifications will enable me to make some much needed changes - so thank you. The pantry area is a nightmare. There were four stationary shelves with an area on the left side of about 16” that was tucked back behind the wall. Why - it was the 60s. After sitting basically useless for decades, I added 14” turntables to this area on each shelf and it changed everything.
That is a great idea for your pantry! And I definitely recommend modifications even if you can’t do the full reno. Focus on what will make it more functional versus just aesthetics and you’ll really get your money’s worth. 🥰
This is the best kitchen organization video I have watched so far. It's amazing, thanks all the ideas
Thank you so much!! 🖤🖤
I appreciate how you talk about Zones. Working in zones creates more efficiency in work flow!
Definitely agree with you. So glad it works well for you too!
@@lelaburris do you have any knowledge how to best fine tune these zones?
Those drawer dividers inside the drawers are amazing and the tea section is to die for 😊
Thank you! The tea drawer is definitely our favorite part of the kitchen. It’s like having our own little tea shop.
I bought those expandable dividers for the drawers about 2 1/2 years ago and they sent me a survey wanted to know what they did to improve them and I told them to put those slots in so that you could divide the other way . Very well organized kitchen.
Thank you so much for all these ideas I’m 58 years old and don’t know how I missed these….your ideas are great I went and saw your printable organizers,…thank u for those of us..that celebrate season solstice☺️Blessings and will be shopping on your storefront.☺️
Hi Karen! So nice to meet you! I’m so glad you found your way here and I hope you love the planners too! 🖤
What a beautiful and well organized home. You should really have way more "likes".
Aww thank you! I’m a very new channel and appreciate your like and comment. ☺️
The best ingredients in my opinion: a beautiful place and enough money to furnish and equip it. Thank you for showing your home.
Love the tea drawer
By a mile, this is the best kitchen organization video I've ever seen, and being in the middle of a kitchen remodel, I've watched a lot of them. Your mix of lazy susans, risers, bins, dividers etc is excellent. You solve a ton of problems! Really great effort and very well presented.
Yay for a kitchen remodel, that’s exciting! And I’m so glad you got some ideas to use once it’s done. Focus on just getting one cabinet/drawer organized at a time and it won’t be so overwhelming. You’ve got this! 🙌🏼
I saw the reveal post on your blog back in November and still can't get over how stunning your kitchen looks. So glad to hear that all your organizing systems have stuck so far, and thanks for putting your favorite tips here!
Thank you Brad! I’m happy you got to see the follow up from November, along with the surprise closet I didn’t show before. 😁
Everything is so thoughtfully organized. Ugh.. can't wait to get my mess this tidy. ❤
Thank you! You’ll get there, one drawer and cabinet at a time. 🥰
I use adhesive rechargeable light strips under the cabinets and in the pantry. They attach with magnets and you can just recharge them when they get too dim. But they're really good for dark areas.
I’ve had those in my save for later cart in amazon for so long, thanks for the reminder to finally order them. 🙌🏼 glad to hear you like yours.
Last year, I moved shoe drawers from the closet to under my kitchen sink -- just like your set-up. I hated them for shoes -- a smidge too small -- but have been very pleased with myself 😂 since I put them under the kitchen sink.
That's great! So glad they work for you too!
I think it all looks so orderly! Looks so pretty
Thank you so much!
Due to a hidden leak in the bathroom above our kitchen, we're surviving a to the studs gut renovation. This was such an inspiring and realistic organization video. I'm definitely incorporating many of these ideas into my rebuild. #newsubscriber
Hi! Welcome to the channel, and I'm so glad you found it helpful. Best of luck with your rebuild too.
My heart sank when I saw yet another organising video - how wrong I was! This is one of the best organising videos I have ever seen! You've done the most wonderful job of organising your kitchen and the zones for different things are so well-placed where they are most needed. Really, a lesson to channels with many more subscribers than you (for now anyway). I'm seriously impressed with the detail your video has (everything being also listed in the description). It will provide people like me with the detail they need to get something similar to your kitchen, or to get parts of it done the same. So pleased. I have subscribed.
Awww thank you so much Amanda, that’s the sweetest compliment! I’m all about sharing REAL organization ideas to help you make your home more function. Aesthetics can always be upgraded later but it’s the systems that matter more. So happy you’re here! 🖤🖤
Use the clear everything tape to secure the dividers in island and keep.them from moving. Love the drink cups on the door
Today , first time I am watching your video Lela. You are such a honest person and very passionate about your organization. I enjoyed the way you explained everything! Thank you. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I’m so glad you stopped by. 🖤🖤
I love your kitchen and how it´s organized! Very inspiring, thank you for showing us how you do it.
Thank you! Hope you found an idea or two to try in your home. 🖤🖤
I love this kitchen tour! I also store my tea in the drawer using an organizer that used to be a wall organizer for shot glasses (I think). I love seeing all of your ideas. I will be finding an organizer to keep my cookie sheets separated.
Oh that’s a great idea about using the shot glass stand for your tea! Thank you for sharing that! 🖤
I love everything about your organization! My favorite is that tea draw station!
You have a Beaultiful and well organised kitchen....i just love it😘
Thank you!
Great video, I have OCD and your kitchen is like a dream, so tidy and organized I love it 😍
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. 🖤
I was only into the video a few minutes when I realized the simplicity, yet organized style, I love. Great job girlfriend.
Thank you so much! So glad it resonated with you. Organizing doesn’t have to be complicated and it’s my goal to share that. 🖤🖤🖤
Wow, I am truly amazed how organized your kitchen is
Aww thank you!! 🖤🖤
love your organization ideas. I don't have the same amount of drawers or cabinets but you gave me some ideas of how to store stuff.
So glad it helps get you started!
Very nice! I just subscribed in the middle of the first video I watched!
I’m old”ish” so I’m in the process of downsizing from a house to a one bedroom apartment! But I like your style and the products you have selected, so we have that in common. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Donna! So happy you’re here!
Absolutely love the small appliance closet/storage.
Thank you! It is so nice to have that extra space. 🖤
@@lelaburrisdo you have a kitchenaid mixer? If so, where does it live? Air Fryers are hard to store as well!
Such a pretty pantry❤
Great organization ideas!! I like that you were able to create a pantry out of your laundry closet & and organization system for your small appliances on the other side. I especially love your kitchen floor!!
Thank you so much! When we toured this house four years ago and I walked into the kitchen I said “wouldn’t it be awesome if it had huge checkerboard tiles in here?” Then three years later I still couldn’t get that image out of my head so we made it happen. 🥰 Tiles are the Magnifica collection from Bedrosians.
Very impressive!
Thank you!
I love EVERYTHING!!
Thank you!!
Loved this video! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I love the family mug collection
Wow Lela , I just love your kitchen and organisation it looks so so good when you open your cupboards and drawers . I would love that my kitchen is a third of the size of yours , I do have it laid out the best I can with the space I have ,TFS huni ,Katie from Scotland UK 💛🩵🩷
Thank you so much!
Love the floors!!!!!!!!
Thank you! When we toured this house for the first time I immediately envisioned the kitchen having them. It’s such a dream come true. 🤩
The tea drawer is so nicely organized! I feel inspired to try that myself.
It’s like stepping into a tea shop every afternoon! I definitely recommend it if you have a spare drawer available.
Wow!!! Impressive. My goodness. You are super talented, what a fantastic video!! ❤❤
Aww thank you! So glad you liked it.
I love the pull out drawer organizer. I plan to use those for my baking dishes and get one for the baking pans. You should get the kitchen scissors that have a magnetic holster and then can attach to the fridge - I love having them within reach.
Great idea, thank you!
May I ask where you got magnetic sissors
You gave me lots of ideas to organize. Thanks
I'm so glad! 😀
Definitely magazine-worthy! Perfection, even your 'ish spaces.
Aww thank you! It takes a while to upgrade over time, but it all comes together eventually. ☺️
Thank you for the video! You are very organized, and I got some ideas from you
Glad it was helpful! 🖤🖤
I still love my double ovens❤❤
Thank yoi so much, I needed these ideas for my new place❤🎉
So glad you found some that may work for you! 🖤🖤
Thank you for the pots and pans idea. I just moved recently and I'm having the same issue with making room for the pots and pans, I'm definitely going to try that. Funny enough, I already have my command hooks to put up the measuring cups and spoons. All in all I love your video and I'm getting more ideas in organizing my kitchen, thank you.
So happy to hear that you got some ideas for your own kitchen! 🖤🖤
It’s perfect!
Thank you so much!
Love it ❤
Love your honest video about how you said there may be some changes in the future. I can see where you are going and you definitely have plenty of room. Your kitchen and dining room are the perfect size for all your items. Is there a kichen update video?
Thank you so much! To tell you the truth, some things worked out and others didn’t. There are two cabinets that are a hot mess right now. An update video is such a great idea, thank you!! I’ll add that to my calendar to film this month. Stay tuned! 🥰
@@lelaburris Isn't that how life works ☺️ All these other videos make people feel like their kitchen is perfectly organized. For me, everything is constantly changing and I can see how children's schedules can change things in the kitchen too.
I really like that table you added and it would be such a nice baking area where one could actually show off the beauties of bakeware and all the baking items are all in one place for the kiddos to access.
I like having the same things in the same place. Having a drink area with cabinetry feels so luxurious for me. I had to buy a baking rack to turn into a coffee bar to get some counter space back. I love how your beverage area has so much space 😍 Like it would even house all my vitamins, protein powder, protein bars, all of our bottled/canned beverages, our ice bucket, etc. As you can tell, my beverage items are everywhere in my kitchen because I have to use every nook & cranny. I'm excited for an updated kitchen video.
LOVE
Thank you!
Great job! 😊
Thank you!
Love your pantry.
Thank you! 😊
We use our wine fridge for water bottles!! We are in AZ so its 🔥 half the year. We also have four teens.
Oh I love that idea!!
The kitchen is beautiful, but I can see how that fridge is just ring the middle of everything. I’m wondering where you could put that. I can tell you have an older home, but it’s a very beautiful home and you’re trying to do the best you can with the space you have. I had similar situation with my friends and we had to end up putting a standalone pantry next to it and it kind of balanced it out a little bit.
I love the pantry
Thank you!
Omg im in love with your pantry!! 😍 I am finally getting organized in my kitchen too after living there like 8 years!!! 😂😅
That's so exciting! Hope your organizing project went well, so sorry for the delayed response. 🥰
Love your pantry closet makeover!! Perfect 👍 ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
REALLY APPRECIATE THE TOUR
Thank you!!
I wish I had more cabinets. Love your amazing hard work
Thank you! You can definitely maximize the cabinets you have with stackable shelf risers, pull out shelves, and under-shelf baskets. But also, less cabinets keeps you from over-accumulating things you don’t need. It may a blessing in disguise! 🖤🖤
@@lelaburris I agree :). I hope to become a minimalist someday.
Use flat spring loaded curtain rods to section off your shallow drawers.
Great idea!
This video was very well put together and you explained everything so well and quick! It just clicks n I'm in love with you kitchen!🤗❤ Thank you so much! New Sub!🤗💓
Aww thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it. 🖤
Great video
Thank you so much!
I've just discovered you. My name is Lela, so that's how you caught my eye. I'm also celiac; I kept hoping you'd turn that mug that has the word "gluten" on it around so I could read the whole thing. Then in the pantry, I thought, Yeah, someone in that house is definitely gluten free. So I connected with you on a couple of levels that have nothing to do with organization, but I loved the organization too. You've done a great job with the zones. I have those same clear glass bowls, and every time I reach up to unstack them, I wish there was room in that cabinet for a riser. I love how you've separated things so you can access what you need without having to pull out things you don't.
Hi Lela! Always love meeting another who shared my name. And you’re Celiac too?! So glad you got some ideas for organizing your own kitchen. 🖤🖤
Love your kitchen
Thank you Stephanie!
Just love your pantry❤❤❤❤
Thank you Amanda! 🖤🖤
I use my 'awkward' cupboard for seasonal holiday stuff.
That’s so smart! Love it!
OMG that black and white skull decanter is everything! I want one!!! Off to Google....
Isn’t it awesome?! We found it at CB2 a couple of years ago. Not sure if they still carry them but I bet you could find something similar if not.
Love all of your organization! Would you mind telling me the name of the color on your pantry doors and the bottom part of your walls? It’s gorgeous!!
Hi! It’s Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams, reduced to 75%. 🙂
Can I please ask you, what size is your kitchen or a floor plan as it seems similar in size to mine and you have really organized well. Many thanks
Wow, awesome organization. I love your kitchen hardware (cabinet knobs and drawer pulls). Where did you get them?
Thank you! I got them from CB2 a few years ago but they’re discontinued now. I have seen similar ones on Amazon and Amerock’s website though.
Hi Lela! Love the container/bin labels that you use. Can you please let us know where you get them?
Hi! I use some from Amazon and make others with my Cricut machine. These are the amazon pre-made labels: amzn.to/3RqmlrK
I have Mikasa Italian Countryside in white for everyday and keep the plates and bowls in a deep drawer. Saves reaching all the time and the littles can get their plates for the table.
That’s a great way to store them! 🙌🏼
I have the same issue with my cat DonCatleo, He likes to flip/ bang the cabinet doors , very irritating! What a perfect solution you have. I'll give it a try. Thank you!! 😼
DonCatleo is the best cat name I have heard! Love it!
@@lelaburris His brother is named Mr. Silver. Bugseywugseydooters 😻
Great video. Im Treena from Oklahoma and new to your channel
Hi Treena! So glad you’re here and I’m happy to meet you! 🖤🖤
Awesome ideas in this video. May I ask where you store your bread?
I have celiac disease and we have to buy gluten free bread, so it’s kept in the fridge and freezer once they’re opened. Unopened packs of bread are stored in one of the pantry drawers when we have extra backstock.
Wow, amazing organisation skills👍
The wall next to the garage is the planning desk?
Thank you! We use that island for extra counter space since our kitchen doesn’t have much.
Cabinets look great!! I wonder, what does your fridge look like? That's where I seem to have the most problems.
Thank you! Here’s a video of my fridge cleanup and organizing project: ruclips.net/video/9BEghHXA6ks/видео.htmlsi=b2BupQieKMuhojsz
Do you have a link for the over the door organizer (protein and water bottles)? Great video!
Hi! That is from Closetmaid. I checked Amazon and Walmart online and it looks like they’re sold out, but usually Home Depot and Lowe’s sell them in the store.
Aldi had the double layered pull out metal shelves for $29.99 I bought 2. I am changing my lowers into pull outs and drawers
Wow! That’s a great price!
Классная организация 👍
Thanks for all the wonderful idea's! Can you tell me the brand for your measuring cups and spoons?
I found them on Amazon, here's the ones I bought: amzn.to/3NPwFai
I'm adding this late in the game but I thought it was worth mentioning incase you haven't made a change.
The bottom cabinet that hold the tall sugar could benefit from an added shelf. It looks like a shelf was removed but if you move those wood brackets up higher and add a shelf then you could add those pull out racks if needed
Great idea, thanks!
You could put some cook books in the cabinet over the stove where the vent is
Great idea! Thanks!
I literally came to ask where did you get the blue island? Also I am going to copy most if not all that you did here so yup 👍🏿! Thank you 😊
You are very welcome! I got mine from Birch Lane/Wayfair but I think it’s sold out right now. You can put your email address in the “notify me” button there and they’ll email you when it’s back in stock though. rstyle.me/+nPgI7EIuLUrETw7NUO5fkw
Love the organization but love your hair even more❤ i have a pixie undercut too. 😂
Thank you! It’s so fast and easy to get ready in the mornings, right?
@lelaburris I love the cabinet in the living room which holds your glassware and candleholders. Where did you get it? Is there a link? Thanks. Great video.
I found it on Wayfair a while back but I haven’t seen it on the site in a while. They do have some similar ones though. Try searching “black metal cabinet glass doors” on Wayfair. Good luck!
@lelaburris thanks.
Small kitchen . We cook a lot and all from scratch. This kitchen doesn’t have enough counter space for prepping. .You did a great job using doors to hang stuff.
You're so right, we have to get creative with prep space. I'm known for prepping bigger meals in the dining room on the table. 😂
I really like this tour!! Idk if “budget friendly” is accurate though.
Glad you liked it! Most of the organizers are from Amazon, Walmart, and Target and range from $7.99-$40. To save money (and time) you can pick up one or two a month and organize one space at a time. 🙌🏼
What color are your walls and trim/doors? I am loving contrast trim and love your combination.
Hi! My walls are Alabaster from Sherwin Williams, and the trim is Accessible Beige at 75% (the paint counter can do that for you, it’s basically just a little lighter than the regular shade).
Huge kitchens are so easy to organize; not so much when they are tiny with angled cupboard’s.
