    My daily-driver here in northern VT. Such a fun board, and it’s true; it’s a Swiss Army knife- rails carves (& I came up riding PJ’s with Megaflexes in the late 80’s/early 90’s), loves sidehits, floats pow, and never gets bogged down. I’d back a sintered base version though, and I do love Mervin, but get some structure into that base!

    Just bought this board went from a Custom 158w Flying V. It rides amazing, floats on powder and cuts thru ice! Hey bud, I just picked this thing up too, and also coming from a 2013 custom Flying V. I’m switching boards because the custom felt very unstable at speed as well as extremely loose on hardpacked/Icey trails. Would you say this board is better than the custom in those areas?

    Good morning, sounds like a fit for my riding; but I'm only a solid intermediate, maybe plus, so it may be a bit too much board for me, not sure. I'm also looking at the Jones Frontier. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. ( I mainly like carving, exploring, and venturing off piste. icy resort. I like the smashing the crusted chunder qualities of a boar.)

  • @SheldonKreger

    I demo'd a bunch of mervin boards last year. Generally I prefer full camber, but I try to keep an open mind. For the most part, I don't like the c2 and C3 boards because they feel too loose. They want to skid turns rather than carve. This one locks in on-edge a lot easier than the other c3 boards I tried. It is smooth and feels solid at high speeds. I think it's a great choice for somebody who isn't religiously dedicated to full camber and also likes the mage-traction. Great board!

    The dynamo is incredible compared to other boards in the line. I really think the thick textured topsheet adds to the longevity of the board. Aged Libtechs are notoriously floppy yet my 2021 dynamo is still ripping.
    From all the Jones, K2 and Lib/gnu I've tried this board is about as powerful as one can feel while still being "playful."
    A great progressional board for a intermediate rider looking to grow. In the hands of an advanced rider this is a scalpel that won't fight back.
    In short, dont buy this board, keep it cheap for me.

    Looking for a direct comparison to the K2 Passport, are they essentially the same ride and feel with a slight edge hold going to the Dynamo and a slightly better float going to the passport? Both look awesome and I am torn. Sizing for the Dynamo I am looking at either the 159 or the 162 and pretty much locked on the 160 for the passport. ~210LBs 9.5 boot

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  2 года назад +1

      No. The Dynamo is a damper ride with less reactivity from the carbon in it meaning it doesn't have as much snap and power out of a deep carve. The nose is a hair stiffer on the Passport but that can send kinetic vibrations back when you charge into uneven terrain.

Really getting into a more freeride type of riding with tree runs and what not, but I still love hitting jumps in the park and just getting air anywhere I can as well.
