      can confirm the board is fantastic. The board performs exactly as described.Mr angry knows his stuff. Thanks for the recommendation. I just returned from Austria where I had this and the nidecker thruster. the thruster didn't quite make the grade. The passport was a little more rigid on the piste but it cruised over chopped out off piste conditions with ease whereas the thruster just couldn't handle it. The passport floated really well in deep soft snow and gave me control on hard chopped up snow. Also both handled icey piste conditions really well. the thruster just a tad better. If you only stick to the piste then I'd go thruster but if you play around off piste then passport all day.

    You seem to be the only reviewer that actually rides the boards you review. Exactly how I would describe this board. I stopped riding the other boards I have. Maybe I'll break out the dedicated powder board for super deep day but for everything else it's amazing! It even does trees well!
    You're also right about how it handles rutted out terrain. I finally get what "damp but lively" means. It eats up the crud but bounces between carves with a ton of energy. I wouldn't let a beginner ride it but for a freeride board it's so easy to ride and carve! Love it!
    So yeah, you're spot on with your reviews. Thank you!!

I immediately felt so comfortable on it, I can rip it down the mountain confidently it's so fast and stable. even in the trees it's perfect for me, I wasn't sure if I would like a stiffer board but you were right this is everything I needed. I was just on hard pack groomers, I can't wait to see how this rides in powder once we get more snow ❤

    Recently picked up the K2 Passport after some research and of course watching your review. Rode it, awesome board! I’m a rad dad looking for a go to one board quiver killer, I know it sounds terrible to not want a multiple board quiver, but at my age I just want one do it all (for the most part) board, and I think I’ve found it. Avran keep up the outstanding work, what you’re doing for the snowboarding community is significantly more than any other snowboarding RUclipsr. New subscriber, been watching your videos and I took your advice and pulled the trigger on the K2 passport in 157. Now I'm having buyer's remorse thinking I should of gotten the 160. I'm 185 lbs, 5'10/11" size 9.5 boot. Intermediate. No park for me. Just groomers, through trees, pow when I can find it. And side hits. Cruising for the most part.

  • @johnhailstone9927

    having owned the passport for a year and recently purchased an Amplid souly grail I can confirm this board is significantly better than the Amplid. Its more damp, floats so much better in deep powder and doesn't cave in when fast hitting hard bumps out of turns. The Passport just plows through everything. I also took them both down a deep powder tree line in La Fornet, Val dIsere and the Passport had way more control, no nose diving which the Amplid did. The Passport just cruised it. Highly, recommended.

    "This boards just tends to plow through all that chop and chunder with ease". Kept going trhough my mind last week when the board just ignored the spring bumps over the complete width of the piste. This was so nice for my recovering broken ankle front foot. And then: "I love this board". I can recommend this to all that like to charge in a laid back way :) and still surf and play. Its my one board quiver in a quiver of 3 (swallow powboard and partyplatter as parkish board)

      Just tested the K2 passport today at Snoqualmie, not the best condition, but still this thing is so playful and very well rounded. It got lots of pop, pretty easy to butter, and it can just ride anything. Carving feels like home when the speed is there, and the pop out of the turn makes edge to edge really quick, almost too quick. Wish it was just a tiny bit wider underfoot for my boots. Look forward to riding it in fresh pow.

    Angry, it's time for an upgrade! Currently riding a Terrain Wrecker and the K2 Passport ride sounds like a good fit. Been itching to move from C2x to a camber profile. I like getting in the trees when conditions are right (Steamboat) and want to know if this will be equally good in trees? Any other differences to be aware of?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Год назад +2

      The big difference obviously is that it's fully camber, this will make it feel more rigid torsionally as you don't have 2 independent camber zones and a reverse between the feet. It's also going to have more snap and power when you're really pushing into it. This board will slay Steamboat though.

Would the Passport help me boost side hits better than the Standard, but not lose the epic powder handling, playfulness, or insane grip on ice that the Standard has? Specs are basically identical in waste and tip widths. Thanks in advance, Love your style!
