Thanks for coming up with this very creative way to play the game. I'm using Ultra Cash 9 on Lethal and with the game mode's scarcity and having no specialists to build up some of the more advanced buildings you really have to rely on trade. My radio commands are almost always on cooldowns and I take advantage of them the second they become available. You have to focus on gaining cell towers as outposts and they're often in plague territory so that determines where you have to work first.
It's almost like playing in another game mode.
It really is. I love the trading aspect of SoD2, so it was a natural evolution of my playstyle.

Great video! I like how you keep exploring the overall gameplay system and push it to its limits, finding different vulnerabilities where you can shove it around like using close combat on a zombie. The overall system is pretty good in SOD2 but definitely not perfect. My preferred playstyle is fresh start lethal with no 5th skills to start and then just struggle within those confines. It makes for a decent arc from start to finish. I'm looking forward to checking out your new fresh start playthroughs. Just finishing your super waifu cafeteria squad's world tour at the moment. Congrats on going FT with the channel.

I made a tough negotiations only community with different 5th skills. Still maxed out influence cap every 30 mins

UltraCash is much better than other 5th skills. It basically totally overwhelms all the other skills in the game.
Chemistry: Was only useful for strong painkillers to make money... which is worse than UltraCash.
Computers: Useless except temporarily to build Lv3 Command Center.
Cooking: Cuisine is good!
Craftsmanship: Useless.
Gardening: Food/Meds for Crafting Still useless in comparison to UltraCash.
Mechanics: Periodically worth pulling out of Legacy to make armor upgrade kits / can just buy repair kits.
Medicine: Useless unless you are getting your ass kicked and need the 90% Primary Care.
Utilities: Useless
You also basically have final tier morale all the time even on Lethal Zone for choosing cuisine.
Trying out a variety of 5th skills was one of the first things I tested, and I quickly realized that any "side benefit" the skills had could be substituted briefly by upgrading a facility then kicking them out or sending them to the legacy pool.
They weren't worth keeping as active party members, and frankly, they all wind up being much less powerful than all Cuisine.
Respect for finding that many survivors with tough negotiation lol. Fantastic editing as well.. I've been doing something similar but with people with the breathing exercise bonus. I've got survivors with nearly 400 stamina.
It took about 4-5 hours I'd say, and that's with me being somewhat picky about them.
@@GitGudFox oh I know all about being picky lol. I've finally built a solid 12 person team, all of them with different voices and looks just cuz I wanted variety lol. Took ages to get all the different voices and no duplicate faces with good traits lol

UltraCash pays off right from the jump! Starting my new community with 3 Cuisiners and Favors, the Trader boon, granted 45% more influence, 5799, instead of the usual 4000. I summoned the Impaler on the spot, and drove to the starter base!

I did! From time to time, I get a creative spark and furiously edit something that is far superior to what I normally make. I guess it's an artist's spark of inspiration. I'm glad you liked it! I still use UltraCash to this very day to farm 10s or thousands of influence to fuel my videos.

That's actually the stuff where I think - why do we have a limited max. ammount for influence? Like if the player is so good at farming influence, let him collect all the influence.
Tbh it's totally not my way of playing the game but I really like those videos where people, mostly you, experiment with the charakter skills. Really enjoyed it.

I've tinkered with the tough negotiations a while ago I had 4 of them but not all with Cuisine. Pathology, Mechanics, Pharmacology, and Herbalism. It does honestly make doing quests and killing infestations worth it. Good stuff keep it up 👍 💰 🤑 💸 💲
Once you do UltraCash, it basically overwhelms all of the other skills. The other skills are just trampled over by UltraCash. Here's why.

Basically, all of the 5th skills that were used for resources are obsoleted by UltraCash, and all of the 5th skills we originally used to produce money are obsoleted by UltraCash.
For Automechanic, the 1200 influence needed to recruit someone from legacy is trivial to UltraCash, so you can pull an Automechanic out when you need to build 100 repair kits or something then throw him back into the legacy pool When combined with buying all the repair kits you find, you'll rarely ever use the mechanic.

I hope they don't as this is knowledge+time to create something OP which should be OK in games.
@@GitGudFox great strategy for the current game after update 30, I did this back before that was even a thought. The 3 I had in my legacy already that I started with and 1 just so happened to be in the beer enclave that I observed
I look forward to seeing what new ways and strategies that you will come up with the game tends to go moot after a while thsts why I would try things out just to see but with this current legacy update the possibilities are endless

It would be dumb if they nerfed it because not only does it show off how useful their update, the Forever Communities, can be, but it also takes some effort to setup.

It's also just a NEW way to play State of Decay 2, and it takes a certain amount of dedication to set it up. I don't think Undead Labs would gain anything from nerfing it.

@@GitGudFox Well it's still a big hump to get them all to Hero but I'm starting out with 3 Tough Negotiators. It took me quite a while to get the third on random character selection but I decided to get the other two even if they had non Cooking fifth skills. The first has no fifth skill. After playing a little, I got one up to Hero and it is FANTASTIC. So much easier to maintain a base with one and I'm hoping to get all three up to Hero today or tomorrow.

@@GitGudFox Not really. We usually played Phasmophobia, GTAO or ETS2 together, but it's been several months since we did that. I'll try to convince them to get SoD2 in the next Steam sale (again).

You can get started with 5. I got 12 in 1 day, 3 I tossed back who had really bad stats. I would say I got 2-3 UltraCash characters per hour.

I'm very tempted to try that once. And I believe already have 2-3 TN in my LP. One for sure has no 5th skill. The other ironically, has cuisine. And she's and old LP character. Got her organically, didn't roll for her.
Once you start banking them up, it's easy. The only annoying part is assembling the team.

@@GitGudFox I'm sure. I filmed and edited short films in Middle and High School so I have an, albeit small, idea of how much work editing is. What really sucks is when your editing program has a bug (or worse bugs) in it.
At the time, I used the 2010 Mac software that was a few years out of date, so there were many bugs, with no solutions.
What I hate is when the editing program gets an "update" which rearranges things or changes shortcuts.
I use the shortcuts Alt+Shift+6 and Alt+Shift+7 a lot for example, and if they do small things that change shortcuts or defaults, it really messes me up.
@@GitGudFox I hate it when that happens in State of Decay 2. For example, the most recent update rearranged the supply locker, so that, (if you have multiple 999 stacks) the ammo stacks are all over the place. The only way to fix it is to use the "All" tab of the locker.

I got the "Recruit legacy survivor" down to a 5 second cool down. I have the 4 cell towers and a survivor with the hero bonus "Frequent check-ins". They also have "Programming" as a 5th skill, both give -15% cool down. All other cool downs are to minimum.
The one you really want to go for is Radio Relay Services, -30% which is an allied enclave benefit.

The morale buffs from UC have my LZ community Empowered right now. And I'm in the red Morale penalty with infestations.
On top of that, I only have 7 UC members. Not up to a full UC Community yet!
That's crazy. How much morale loss are you suffering from the infestations?

I have 7 UC and 1 pathologist. -15 Morale per member, so losing -120 altogether. Also not enough beds, so another -56.
Maybe make an addition on to this vid where you incorporate the enclaves that have the influence bonus aswell ? Not sure how many of those enclaves you can get fairly new to the game, Just found it was a thing though
Yeah, you could eek out even more with that, but that is ridiculously time consuming since you have so little control over the enclave bonuses.
I obtained 12 UltraCash characters in 6 hours of re-rolling on the other hand.

That is the Git Gud Fox way! While everyone else wants to "play SoD2 without driving and with a butter knife" I am coming up with brand new ways to play the game that is fun and engaging!
When you legacy a survivor, say I have 6 and my base requirements was 6 , should I replace the person with a new recruit first? Or will it not boot me from the base if i have 5/6?
I finished the map in my " forever base" and farming the other maps and grinding the player attributes as I go preparing to try the harder difficulty! Thanks for all the base tips and tricks. The moral stuff really does help, actually all the stuff does! Anytime your sitting on resources and not useing them means less time looking for rucksacks!
The base requirement only matters when you buy the base. You could have have an 8-man base with just 1 survivor as long as you originally had 8 people when buying the base.

Hopefully they don't nerf this since it DOES require some amount of time to assemble the team. I did it in about 4-5 hours.

Roger, I use to not be good at this game either. The way I got better was playing on Green Zone and playing over and over. It'll come to you. Oh, Fox helped out allot. I started doing certain things the way he does and it was easier to pick it up.
UltraCash instantly solves all your money and morale issues, so it's a blast to play.

Friendly time saving tip for sending 3 Tough Negotiators to the Legacy Pool.
You don't need to recruit someone from an enclave if you already have other ppl in your Legacy Pool. You still need the trader's boon so you can recruit from your LP. Then use that person to send the 3 TNs to your LP.
You won't lose the person you recruited when you delete your community to start your Ultra Cash farm again.

you can call survivor from legacy pool instead of recruiting one and that will save you time. and use it to send the new 3 survivor and he will be transferred to legacy pool after you delate the community

I'm considering doing ultra cash for my first lethal playthrough. Is this feasible to do with no boons?
Sure, it'll be a bit slower without boons, but once it ramps up, it's as strong with or without boons.

The only difference is that you won't have boons. You'd have to obtain your sources of electricity/water in other ways.
The only way water/electricity will affect you is that you might not have access to all the plague heart destroying tools, and you can't use Whitney Field effectively without power.

Good luck with this. I've rolled an HOUR and got two characters on different communities with tough negotiations.
This I rather annoying. I'm getting at least one trait per character. But it's always the same. I get a useless trio and start over.
It took me about 3-4 hours to get all 9. I actually got 12 of them but threw 3 of them away because I didn't like their other stats.
I've also done Hero Bonus farming with other traits and get 3-5 of them per hour typically.
Imagine strong painkillers with UltraCash, no more will material rucksacks wipe out the bank :-)
Strong Painkillers are obsolete with UltraCash. In the 15 minutes it takes to brew ethanol, UltraCash would make 7000-8000 influence farming sieges in Whitney Field.
Guess squelones brewery is obsolete as well, whitney field FTW :-)
Yeah, Squelones got screwed by the update when all of the Crafting Stills could make beer. You could make 3 crafting stills if you wanted at another base.
Thats crazy! I thought nothing was going to top the super waifu cafeteria squad. Instead of having a low number of food consumed a day, just buy all the food. Plus extra influence to buy whatever and no worries about morale! Fox blows my mind once more. Awesome job!
How many Cell Towers do you need to get 15 minutes?
I use 4. You can use less if you get the 30% radio cooldown from your allied enclaves.
Step 1: Stay up way later than you should rolling traits on characters and praying to the lord that you get more than one tough negotiator at once (if you even get one)
Step 2: Spend more time trying to support the influence cost by running out of food brewing beer
Step 3: Level them all back up and send them packing
Step 4: ???
Step 5: *Stonks*
The 2 best ways to do it would be...
1) Have a Forever Community in Whitney Field and replace them with UltraCash 1 by 1 because Whitney Field can farm unlimited sieges. Each member will make the farm faster as well.
2) Start a new community with 3 UltraCash and build from there.
Farming beer would be VERY slow.
