Hello everybody! Welcome to my map tier list in sod2!!! If you have different favorite maps lemme know! If you wanna check me out live: / brandondunbar
To be honest ranking hills so low is hurting. Since i dont play on full boat (less than 8 members on purpose) i usually tend to get either Corner Office (simple reason - localisation, you are close to every place to unload), or Mohr&Mohr, which is conveniently not so far from the middle. Map is fairly easy to remember, just navigate through 2 major crossroads.
Yea I agree! Cascade isn't that bad. I think I mentioned that I do love all the maps. I also agree that corner office is a really good base!! It does seem to be very busy with zombies though(more than other bases) so you have that constant threat. I do agree that the map is easy to remember. My biggest issue with Cascade is this, no memorable bases(container fort is broken), and it has my least favorite landmark outpost, the map is FAR to spread out, the only real base I like is the bridge fort. This isn't to say the map is bad but the other maps have positives where I struggled to find positives about this map. Thanks for your comment though! I do appreciate insight into how others view things and how they play in this amazing game!!
@@brandondunbar5742 im trying to not use the map, mostly memorize the neighbourhood im heading to. Yeah other maps tend to have great perks tho. Drucker is great for complex outpost network where you are always close to an outpost. Although i consider drucker larger than cascade- the rocks making areas impassable are stretching up areas like Kettle and mountain route to the city, giving false impression of close distances. Keep up the good work, good to know my favourite game is still alive :D
Meagher valley is my favourite by far, I love the bright greens, the sky seems brighter to me, the map just has much more hopeful vibes to me. And the brewery is my fave home site, the thought of survivors running a brewery making booze and selling it to EVERYONE for massive influence is just so funny to me
lol I do like the brighter maps, its different than the apocalyptic setting that most games try and use. The dark and everything destroyed kinda setting. I think there is a middle ground that some maps do well, Meagher being one of them, the nights are dark and scary and the days are bright and hopeful. Also yea survivors selling beer in the apocalypse is actually hilarious and would be REAL!!! 🤣🤣🤣🍺
0:50 omg this is so nostalgic, i made some of those info maps when the game first came out, glad to see ppl carrying the torch made the same format for all the maps that came out since XD
THESE MAPS ARE THE BEST!!! They have circulated in discords, google etc. but the spirit of them live on! They have helped 1000's of people no doubt. Appreciate your work!
How bad is it that I can't find a single video on all of RUclips that shows what gate go where nobody shows the gate locations on the map and where all 3 gates go
Which gate are you referring too? the gate to go to another map? I can release a short tomorrow showing this. Whenever you leave a map you have the option of which map it goes too. So it doesnt matter which gate you use to leave the map.
Its funny, Providence is a great map IMO... BUT I have played that damn map...so...many...times 🤣🤣🤣 Its hard for me to put it above other maps that I find actual joy in. Don't hate Providence but also don't love a lot about it. It also has the new hope church which I personally don't find overly useful.
My favourite bases tend to be based on the aesthetic and feel of the place. Cascade Hills - Corner office (the outposts do the heavy lifting for defense but with them you have an entire safe town) and also the Bridge fort Providence - Fire station Drucker - Cabin motel (good defensive postion with the hill plus the nice view of the lake) and Knights family drive-in (reminds me of the prison from TWD since you basically have 2 sets of walls if you cover the holes of the exterior wall with cars) Meagher valley - Camp Kelenqua (tucked away in the forest but unfortunately on a slight decline of a hil, and also no good position for a watch tower)
I got into this game a couple of years ago when I noticed that they were still updating it, and it's a lot better than when it launched. What I don't understand is why everybody is so obsessed with beds. Beds do nothing. They give you an extremely small morale penalty which is extremely easy to overcome even on the hardest difficulty. If you scratch the surface there's a lot of little things like that in this game that don't make sense.
Agreed! yea beds is the first thing I sacrifice. I say quite a bit in my streams on Sod2 that morale isnt really a problem. If its bad, it doesnt reeeaaallly matter. I would love to see more happen with morale in Sod3.
Thank Ya for the decent walk-through/time and your personal opinions on them. You did an awesome job Bro. I mean, it was the perfect video to get me started on Drucker & I may be coming back to confirm this, even though I've just started and not one playthrough yet, lol. Already tired of the driving on my 3rd restart via Providence Ridge, hah! Now to cheat my azzus off and get an easy game start in DC! :P
Appreciate it! Yea driving the same maps gets tiring but if you switch it up through multiple playthroughs the maps dont seem to repeat that much! Providence is the tutorial map so its understandably the most played.
@brandondunbar5742 I actually ran Meagher Valley first, then the opposite.. Trumbull.. oof, but we're ready to move again, however, I'm turning sliders up. Building characters in low for the pool.. pretty full now
Great video! Personal ranking: 1. Drucker County 2. Cascade Hills 3. Providence Ridge 4. Trumbull Valley 5. Meagher Valley But I love them all! Always wanting to revisit.
I 100% agree. I'm not sure they will release anymore maps for SOD2. I'm also not sure they are going to do maps the same in SOD3. I would love to see one GIANT map(Red Dead Redemption 2, gta, AC Valhiem, etc) and those maps split into different regions, instead of separate maps. They could be themed differently, Snow, plague(trumbull valley downtown area). Just a thought!
Cascade hills has 2 of my favorite bases as well, Bridge Fort and Container Fort 😂 I also like the way the maps layed out in sections. Feels like you’re really securing the map and cleansing it of blood plague. Pushing it back across each bridge.
That's a really good point that I never considered. How the map naturally feels to destroy the blood plague. That's very interesting. If the container fort's defense worked I would love that base so much more. The Bridge fort is amazing, absolutely love that base!!!
that's awesome! I'm glad you found Sod2 at its best! They have stopped development but the game we have today is honestly amazing IMO. Any questions hit me up on YT or Twitch!
You are fucking awesome. You master this game to another level. My map tier list: 1: Cascade hills. Bridge and container fort, the important landmark outpost, easy to drive around. 2: Trumbull, there is a red talon agent to recruit, nice landmark and funny based. A lot of story 3:Drucker, I just replayed this map and I got a nice experience. 4 providence: toturial map, played to much, but it has a special place in my heart 5 meager. Whitney field is awesome, lame land map. Least favorite map
Hi thanks for the video. I'm new to the game so this helps. Do you have an opinion on which map is the most visually impressive or appealing? Sorry if you mentioned that and I missed it.
Hello and welcome to the best zombie survival game ever!! lol in my opinion. Honestly, and this sounds like a cop out answer, but all the maps have great landmarks and views. There isnt a bad map. I honestly prefer Drucker but there are honestly sections of every map that are visually appealing. If you have any questions lemme know on YT or on Twitch!
I hope Sod3 utilizes the power of the Series X/S and has a HUGE map. Different regions/biomes on the same map. Similar to Red dead redemption 2 and GTA5. Cant wait to see what they do with Sod3!!
My ordering is the exact opposite. I find Drucker frustrating to navigate and has 2 base that feel very secluded (Drive In and Cabin Park). Trumbull is fun and gives the added story, but I've found the game quite unstable on this map Meagher is basic. Its the easy mode given the rucksacs in the houses Providence is easy to get around. All the bases are great - just wish there were 7 for more variety. Cascade hasnthe best narrative of sweeping from east to west, ending in container fort. Easy win for me
Hey! welcome to the game!! so when you beat one map you have the option to move to another map. When you do so, your characters, stash, and vehicles in your parking spots will follow. I haven't beaten a map since a few updates, not sure if the car you drive still disappears. If you have any questions lemme know on YT or Twitch!
Trumbull my favorite I think because I’d ideally be a farmer community in this situation my favorite 4 man base on the map as well. The Cleo and sniper support are cool as well. I think they try to push Trumbull for long term community Casecade hills second bridge fort and container fort really cool ideas for a zombie situation. Container fort also having 8 built in beds feels like a no penalty compact bunkers beds Meager valley 3rd bases not my favorite visually. Travel is awesome though easy crossing. Drucker is decent but the driving feels like it’s intentionally forcing you to drive the long way at times. Providence Ridge last I’ve never finished a storyline here I just end up switching maps because I hate driving this map. Visually awesome map but driving is so bad I just don’t stay. Based are also not the best.
Love the analysis!! thats awesome. I agree Trumbull feels natural for forever communities. I also agree with Drucker but I do love it, SUPER LOVE IT!!! 🤣
If I forgot that, my bad! however I really really dislike the watch towers/armed guard posts in sod2. For me, they seem to miss alot of the shots and not even see or react to most zombies coming up to the base. I have a couple videos showing my guards just ignoring zombies...
