    • @JunkTardis
      @JunkTardis 5 лет назад +1

      They did - Look under the entire door handle on the outside of the car, you'll notice a gap to wedge your key into. Wedge it in, pry off the plastic and it will reveal a regular barrel lock. Here is a picture of what I mean: i.ytimg.com/vi/HycztXefMVw/maxresdefault.jpg

    My 2012 gti front passenger door will not stay closed, the latch mechanism isn’t working. Just removed this actuator from the door - which my gti did not have that extra panel hole to work through, sure wish it did!!! Gonna be real hard to put back 🤯😭

    Thanks for posting an MK6 video since this is the first one for this repair. I have a problem with my front door which is not the same as the rear. The distance from the opening and to the actuator are further. Any chance you know of someone who did the front driver door? I could not find any videos of it.

    • @KW14808

      Mike Davis I have to do the front as well. You figure anything out on it?

    • @JunkTardis
      @JunkTardis 5 лет назад

      I've done it - Don't be afraid, it's much easier than I expected. Just unlock the car and disconnect the battery before you start the repair, otherwise you'll get an error code. By disconnecting the battery you won't get any errors.

    Does the door lock switch on the right rear door have anything to do with the switch the driver uses to lock all the doors because when I press the button I hear all the locks click but when I go and check the doors the right rear door does not lockSo chances are it would be the actuator and not just the switch itself

    • @116falconer
      @116falconer  3 года назад

      If you use the rear switch does it lock? Sounds like the actuator 👍👍

    • @greatcesarsghost
      @greatcesarsghost 3 года назад

      @@116falconer no the actual switch does nothing .. i press the lock / unlock symbol switch and nothing .. so it’s the actuator the fuses have nothing to do with it .. there’s no fuse for the locks
