Wow, awesome video. I watched a few before I found yours and someone was removing all the interior trim. One hint for others trying this, when removing the skin, open the front door so you don't scratch it when removing/installing. Also, you can access the hidden bolt at 2:16 by closing the rear door and getting to it from the front door side.
Do you have trouble openning your door now ? Because at 4:54 the spring that locks the assembly for the intial openning is missing, you should have taken it off the old one and put it on the new one then locked it in place.
Excellent video and camera work…gives me the confidence to replace all 4 actuators…will let you know how my attempt work out. Thank & much appreciated 👍
9:33 this! Super hard to slide to right side and take that handle out… I struggled almost one hour and forgot about the t20 screw under the handle and while taking door skin out the whole metalic part holding the latch broke! Now I need new door ffs😢😩
i couldnt get the door handle screw in, it wouldnt line up after i put the door skin back on.. what do i do?!?! i tried moving it around... only got slightly closer.
Great video I successfully changed the actuator which the shop told me would fix my remote issue, still the doors won’t lock or unlock with the remote. I also replaced the central control module. Which did fix the back door that wouldn’t unlock. Do you know if I need to get the module recoded? It was an exact part number match. Or maybe the used module I bought is bad.
@@ClaudiuB the remote was recoded by a mechanic but I don’t think that mattered because it was already coded to the car before I did the replacement and he said it was working but then it wasn’t working when I got home. After I replaced the actuator it was working that day, now it works intermittently. To resynch the key after the replacement I put it into the ignition. There are videos on this, I have a 2009 Jetta
Excellent video, just replaced my rear actuator following your easy to follow step by step instructions. Thank you.
Glad it helped
Those bolt head type shots of each and layout are brill. Thanks.
You sir are a legend for making this very detailed video

Although this looks intimidating, it is actually a clever door design. Replacement and painting is easier if panel repair is needed
Just changed mine thanks to your vid. Really helpful many thanks
Thank you Sorted both my rear actuators with N/S rear 7L0 839 015D O/S 016D Opens every time now
Thanks for the help my brother!!!!
You are perfect teacher!!!

Yes, you should move the spring from the old unit to the new one. But replaced 5 locks on my car like this with no issues.
Thank you bro. Great video, very detail.

Good luck , but you might have a different problem if all doors went out at the same time.
Top helpt me a lot thx 🙏🏼👍
At 4:40 you also need to migrate the spring from the old unit to the new one to but tension on the door handle
Put* tension ...
True the spring has to be moved to the new lock.
great video thanks

Is this process the same for the mk6 golf
I think yes. I'll do this today.
If you can I’d love to see it as my daughters golf is a mark 6
In my golf mk6 I need replacement hole doors. Its impossible to take off front panel. Outside part is welded with inside part 😞
Rear Right door wont lock, the rest do mk5 golf 06, What could be the problem
Much job to do this but I need it
