Finally ! I can actually see how the Jetta's door handle functions 100% ! and I had no idea the front panel of the door was removable. That part is extremely helpful to me because one of the T30 torx screws is stripped that attaches the inside door panel due to too much locktite. Awesome video. I truly appreciate your time & effort thank you neuromangler !

I Just wanted to say hello from the UK and thank you for saving me from a puzzle I was wasting a lot of time on. The whole handle carrier fell off and flew apart when I removed the door skin and thanks to your video I sorted it and got it back together. I much appreciate your taking the time to explain it in detail.
    Pete,

I swapped the lock cylinder, and my problem now is that when i first unlock the door, sometimes the first pull of the handle doesn't work, once it works there's no issue, but always an issue on first attempt after unlocking... Suggestions?

I have same issue and I believe my problem is the rod is bent and is putting tension on it going through the hole in door panel. I tried to adjust it but no luck. I plan on replacing the rod at some point but it works well enough for now

I appreciate the effort in making this video a lot off good info but man if you had of took that torx screw out and showed how that cam half moon piece is re installed after an idiot like me made it fall off you would really have a very special video.
I watched a few videos and even did 2 other doors prior to this one. No one exsplained exactly 12 turns they all just said loose emough but not to loose so when i came to this door and fought getting the cylinder out for so long i finally started loosening it more cause i thought well the other doors certainly were easier so i must still have it to tight. At some point the cam you refer to fell out. Now i have half the day so far in trying to re install it from inside the door havnt gotten it to feel solidy in place. Always seems like it could fall out

The sprung aluminium handle carrier is a weakpoint, just ordered the aluminium part on its own so I guess VW know this is a part that will break.

Is it called a “carrier”? Part number by chance?

Carrier sounds familiar, vw may call it that

What exactly is that handle bracket/ latch assembly called?

I’m about to order the actuator assembly but looked in there and it seems this part you’re showing broke in half. Ever hear of that happening?
