What if I rewrote Ash's Sinnoh Journey?

This is actually really good, I love some of the changes such as some of ash’s other Pokémon getting more work such as torterra who Is one of ash’s most controversial Pokémon of all time, he had potential and I’m glad you were able to give him some wins and do what the writters couldn’t, I actually thought it was really cool that ash has a fully evolved torterra like his rival Paul, especially that Paul was a big jerk to ash and ash coming to chimchars defense for being treated poorly by Paul, also defenitly understandable why you cut gible from the cast he was introduced late in the anime, sure I think he should have evolved into at least gabite during the battle againts conway and he would have handled Draco meteor a lot better then in his prevolve form, also it as a Brock fan you definitely made you point on why you thought he didn’t need to happen in the sinnoh saga just for doing mostly the same stuff, Lucas to me may sound like a generic pick as a companion since he’s a avatar in the games but I love the development idea for his character in this rewrite of yours which makes him a lot more interesting, and yeah I have to agree with dawns ambipom being released it felt like another primeape case (not a good look for ash’s monkeys 😢) and Zoey was cool too, not much to change for her or Paul, besides that, Barry being introduce late in the series wasn’t the best idea I definitely think they could have Easley introduced Barry in the tag team tournament arc at least, I really hated that ash got paired with Paul and Paul mostly made ash just stand there leaving Paul doing all the work instead, and I felt like that was unfair to ash and they could have giving them different partners or not have Paul get involved at all in those episode, but it’ll defeat the purpose of ash catching chimchar, besides that this is a great way to fix ash’s journey in sinnoh, the original version was good by it still had its flaws and they can be fixed it’s not that hard at all.

While I don’t agree with every change here, I do think your idea for Lucas is pretty cool
I think a more interesting explanation on why he tries out contests and Gyms is because while his main goal is to fill out the Pokédex, he believes that active;y participating with Pokémon in various activities is the best way to gather true research
Which would also lead very well into Dawn’s argument with him that he shouldn’t even do Gyms or contests because all he sees it as is research
But overall, another great video

I really like how you gave infernape less spotlight throughout the series, and then gave some of that spotlight to some of Ash’s lest used Pokémon like torterra and gliscor, although infernape is my favorite of Ash’s Sinnoh Pokémon I have to agree he got too much spotlight which is unfortunately common for Ash’s aces
(with journeys being the worst offender of this, once Lucario evolved, Gengar had an entire 80 episode gap between wins and dragonite was not used at all after the battle with Iris until Raihan and the masters 8 where it was literally just fodder until the battle with Leon’s dragapult)

Thank you so much for the changes, especially nerfing Infernape, which I hate, it’s my least favorite Pokémon ever, and what ultimately ruined Sinnoh for me because a stupid monkey kept stealing the spotlight from Ash’s other Pokémon. It was unbearable in the final battle because seriously it should have fainted after taking all of those big hits, getting poisoned and recoiled by its own moves. I’m glad your version had it nerfed to a more reasonable level.

My opinions on games protagonists than weren’t appear in the main series anime (so far)
Red (As I told you the main series anime): Even I like to see him it would be a mess since Ash is based on Red anyway
Leaf/Green: The only protagonist who appear in manga before the games I guess
Ethan (They already confirmed that his official name is Ethan not Gold): I guess Jimmy is his anime counterpart though
Kris: Same Marina probably her counterpart also I think in the remakes they could redesigned her instead of replaced her with Lyra
Brendan: They could have added him instead of Max
Lucas: Really forgettable also thanks that you made this video
Hilbert: Am I the only one who think he doesn’t really fit in the anime
Hilda: Same as Hilbert
Nate: They could put him as a character in the events or at least Pokestar studios
Rosa: They could use her as a rival
too or in the studios too but I’m glad they didn’t Black and White anime sucks anyway
Calem: I always forgot his name
Elio: Seriously they could 100% added him in the anime as Ash’s friend
Selene: Same as Elio
Victor: They could add him to cheer Ash anyway

Would you have Monferno evolve into Infernape in the same way it did in the orginal story or in another way?
In the actual anime, it evolved by using the energy of blaze to save Paul's Electabuzz and Pikachu, Piplup and Empolean from Team Rocket's machine.

so for your idea for berry i thought of a fun arc for him
when we first meet him he and ash will battle but berry loses
he and ash will battle several times in the series but each time he loses to ash but every time it's a closer match
then during there last battle before the league they tie
thus it'd feel like a real win for berry in the sinnoh league

I like what you do with ash’s team and how everyone got some spotlight. Also with infernape and still being the main focused but not being the star of the show the whole time like how in xy when ash got frokie he didn’t use him all time and did lose in battles even when fully evolved and how all his Pokémon got some development and spotlight so good job and nice video

I know you didn't mind Ash losing the Sinnoh League but there was honestly no good reason for Ash to lose. I know his main goal was defeating Paul and proving his beleifs and ideals but the Paul VS Barry battle was to show how much of a threat Paul was to Ash.
I'd probably completely write out Tobias, have Barry still lose to Paul, have Ash win the league which gets him the offer to compete in the champion league which he gets absolutely decimated in.
I'm also a bit hesitant to replace Brock with Lucas but good rewrite overall.

I think some of these were some great changes. I overall enjoyed Sinnoh but I dislike that every time they make a plot relevant decision, the explanation is literally just "because the plot demanded it". Ash needs to lose so have him lose to a Darkrai. :/ Or Ambipom needs to be released for Togekiss so she suddenly has a life-long passion for ping-ping. I suppose you could argue that you don't know what your true passion is until you experience it for the first time, but it's just very weird since Ambipom had been built up as having Contests as her true passion. It felt a bit out of nowhere for her to suddenly be thrown into this ping pong plot. I'd have rathered Dawn sent her to Johanna instead and Dawn take Togekiss that way so she could still potentially be with a coordinator.

I get what you're saying with this video, but I have 1 problem with it. You said you wanted to give spot light to the entire team, and that's fine. The problem is I felt you instead made Gligar/Gliscor the ace of this generation.

I didn't make any ace, whatever that means. I just distributed the win rate among the rest of the team. As I mentioned, Infernape STILL gets the most major wins out of the entire team even with the changes I made.

Not really. Honestly the only one of the Sinnoh starters I really like is the Chimchar line. I just felt bad for how Ash's Torterra was treated later in the show.

Well Gible never evolved, so that doesn't really mean anything in terms of Ash's team here. Even if he did make it to Gabite, I'd still prefer to keep Gliscor over him because I just felt his story was good as it was and his departure felt forced.

Torterra will forever be the most abused 'mon in the entire anime and the writers' continued insistence that Ash use exclusively fast and agile powerhouses is downright comical, considering how static and sluggish the battles have become in Journeys.

Like you see Paul he caught alot of Pokemon and uses them according to gym...I still choose gible but not that late..I want ash to catch him early and evolve him into garchomp by the start of Pokemon league... with garchomp he will be High chance to win

I’m glad you let buizel evolve because I thought it was stupid that ash got gyped in that trade where aipom evolved after dawn got it but buizel didn’t evolve after becoming ash’s trainer. Also I really liked how you gave all of ash’s other Pokemon more time in the spotlight and didn’t make it the chimchar/infernape show like the writers did.
