Mako is a 200-foot-tall hypercoaster, the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster among Orlando’s theme parks. I wouldn’t say his fear is that terrible, he just doesn’t like the experience that much. If you were properly afraid of coasters, you will never have gone anywhere near it.

Ben Jacobs well I love but hate coasters. I have a Kentucky kingdom pass and I went on this one ride and I was almost crying 😭 when I was at the gate to get into the seat. It went really fast and a steep drop. I passed out as soon as we got at the top of the first ( steep) drop.
Mako videos don't do it justice. It's intense, one of the best.

Recently got over my own fear of roller coasters and grew to love them. This coaster is definitely something I want to ride someday.
I love the way it made that whoosh sound when they slowed the clip down when it was in mid air!

Wouldn't let me wear mine on the ride had to ride it almost blind. Even more terrifying for me , never rode it again because of that

Don't know how he got away with wearing them in the first place on the ride , I was told to take mine off and im blind without my glasses so it made the ride extremely terrifying for me

This coaster and Nitro are my two favorites. The best part about both are the lap restraints, the constant thought of "Will these things really hold me in?" and "What happens if they fail". If you really want to fear, try riding with your child... UGH!! I told her, if the lap bars fail, we are on our own!
You have to check out Candymonium, Skyrush and Storm Runner @ Hersheypark! Those are even better.
I rode it and I normally don’t get scared on coasters but this one nearly got me.

Lol, I love how the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Orlando is at sea world which is pretty much an aquatic zoo, not Disney world or Universal Studios

I went on this ride when I was on a field trip to sea world it was amazing 😍
Just got home after riding that thing... it was good I felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins (metaphorically speaking).
I have to admit I was more scared of the "simple-looking" security wrapping my legs than the ride itself.
You know that it's not actually simple right? There are so many safety mechanisms. You're more likely to die driving to the park then on a coaster.
I’ve been on that ride, you don’t feel like you’re locked in enough, other than that it’s a blast
I felt like I was gonna fall out of it the entire time so I was terrified
I road this ride today with my daughter and I really got so scared. I thought I’m going to die, my daughter usually loves this kind of ride, but she felt not secure at her seat when the ride flipped upside down since she’s very skinny. Both my daughter and I never going to ride this one!

I went to SeaWorld a few years ago, unknowingly that they were constructing Mako. Can’t tell you how disappointed I am that I live thousands of miles away and can’t ride it!
I didn’t even get scared on this ride I went on it twice it’s such a fun ride!

Coasters are way, way more enjoyable than spinning rides, and much less scary, in my opinion.
They´re fast, short rides and overall have a better feeling of security.
But, if someone is afraid of trying them, it´s never a good idea to start with the most intense ones.... start by the smallest, family-friendly ones then try the fastest and taller after.
I hate amusement parks, I hate to spenthours and hours on those long lines , but I do enjoy roller coasters. My dream is to find an amusement park that has ONLY roller-coasters.

I don't see any trims on this ride, why did they start using them? To me they're not a ride-breaker, but I think the ride would definitely be a lot more enjoyable if there wasn't that jarring sudden deceleration on the airtime hill after the hammerhead turn.
It's common after rides have been open for a bit. Get the good hype/reviews from enthusiasts and then slow it down to reduce long term wear and maintenance costs.
True foster phobic person here. They could fire my ass, is quit. Maybe I'd do it with a few Vicodin to chase my fears away😀
I don’t like how the main gimmick for Mako is that it’s the tallest, fastest, and longest in orlando, like Fury 325 is the biggest coaster anywhere near it and they don’t market it like they do mako.
jupiter is flat Since mako is in Orlando, it has a LOT of other competition, so they have to market it like crazy if they want people to chose it over rides like the incredible hulk at islands of adventure, mine blower at fun spot, or rockin rollercoaster at Disney's Hollywood studios.
Fury 325 is a giga hyper while Mako is just a hyper coaster

I have a really really really bad coaster phobia and somehow my sister coerced me into taking this ride and u know what I’m never taking this again
I have anxiety and illyngophobia. Illyngophobia is the fear or becoming dizzy from looking down from a high place. It’s not the fear of heights because I’m not exactly scared of that, I’m scared of losing my footing for falling. This deeply contributes to my anxiety and with anxiety your more likely to be scared of things. One of my fears is the fear of roller coasters, I usually feel unstable in them and I hate the butterflies I get in my stomach. So pretty much, if your gonna try and get over your fear of roller coasters start with something your comfortable with and you feel safe in than gradually get on to scarier ones. This is the method I’m going to use the next time I go to a carnival.

My cousin and I went on this without knowing how high it drops. Just picked it because we passed it. By the time we realized how scary it would be... it was too late. Thank goodness the camera system was down hahaha ha not cute

makos restraints are the B&M clamshell lap bar they are designed to allow for air time comfort and safety these are on B&M hypers and gigas

if you think thats scary you should ride leviathan, its a giga coaster which means its over 300 feet high
This coaster looks good and i like its restraints as they are only lap bars instead of full over the shoulders restraints. But why does it have no loops?
Hypers are about airtime, not loops

I mean just generally hypers are made for airtime. But some are different (Steel Vengeance, Manhattan Express)

Orlando got some pretty good coasters but Ohio/cedar fair has the best. My home park in KC which I operate at has its flagship coaster at 205 feet. I’m terrified of it and I don’t wanna ride it ever

Ivan Toledo these coasters are entirely safe. The extra crap is just for people who think they will die without it. B&M is one of the safest if not the safest manufacturer.

B&M coasters are very safe and smooth. I didn't think I'd feel secure on a coaster like this with that little lap bar but it clicks in place and stays there. Plus you can always wrap your legs around the bar to feel like you're being held in place more. But they are very smooth and safe.
