      hahahah, coincidental timing with the beach coming up right as we filmed it

    Very cool. I am heading to Japan in April for the first time, was only planning on finding a parkrun for the Saturday I was there, although I will definitely be running most days I am there. But I certainly won't be running 100km at a time. You two are very inspirational and I have also listened to you, Sota on Sophie and Lydia's podcast. Well done

      Thanks for your comment Jennifer! Appreciate all the support :) I highly recommend running the Imperial Palace while you're here. Parkrun is just same old (Sydney ones may even be a tiny bit better/friendlier). You can also search Namban Rengo on Google or Instagram who are an expat running club and you get free access to the running track on Wednesday and train alongside 100's of other Japanese who all cram on one track in the busy city! If you do parkrun, the only one I've done is Futakotamagawa. It's pancake flat so relatively fast. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions

    Awesome video footage of Japan, looks amazing!
    I cycled 105km last year and that was tough; can't imagine how much more brutal running that would be. And for you and Lauren to run that distance is quite an insane and impressive effort!

    The road up to the lake is a favourite of mine, but I do it on a bike. I can't even imagine how punishing it would be to run it -- at the end of a 100km effort no less. Madness. Huge respect.

    I ran Tokyo Marathon 2023. It was my greatest running experience so far.
    One of my dreams is to run stage 5 of Hakone Ekiden. Hopefully, I can do that one day 😊

    Ditch the pant! 😂 donate it…. how many pants have you ditch like that? 😮 not even a real competition.

    • @SotaMaehara
      @SotaMaehara  6 месяцев назад

      I lived in Japan when I was a young kid, the pants were way too tight and small for me, and unfortunately there’s no donation bins in Japan like Australia! At least not specifically on the Hakone Ekiden route
