- The Star Destroyer is the deadliest weapon available to the Galactic Empire - but, which Star Destroyer Variants were the most powerful? From the Executor Class Super Star Destroyer, to the lowly Imperial II Star Destroyer, I'll count down the top 5 variants from Star Wars Legends. I'm not including ships like the Eclipse Class Dreadnought, and will only be considering things that look like the traditional Imperial ship.

Can't a normal is take some sectors by itself anyway
Only after losing it's bridge deflector shields, which were being withered down for hours by the rebel fleet. It's full power shields are normally strong enough to take a direct hyperspace strike from a star destroyer with no damage. It means no it can't do it on its own under normal circumstances.
Executor: A pinnacle of the Imperial fleet able to withstand near any fleet thrown at it. A-Wing: Hold my beer and watch this.

Wait, are the _Allegiance_-class star dreadnoughts and the _Allegiance_-class star destroyers different things? At the beginning of the video, you said that you would be excluding the former, and yet you included the later at fourth place.
One is a star dreadnaught. The other is a larger ISD

The Assertor is more than suitable for the first place. Excellent choice! If you allow me to imply something, i would say that the Praetor Mk II would also be a nice option. However due to the shape of it's bridge it is not as pure as a real Star Destroyer.
The only thing is the praetor is far smaller than the assertor and therefore (when compared to the executor and the assertor) lacks the power.

The mandator II was built by KDY basically to defend themselves during the Clone War, but we dont know much more about it than that and its construction. The mandator III and the bellator we built around the same time and they are fairly similar, but the Bellator is smaller and not quite as well armed i think

Assertor is far better then Executor, but I personally think Bllator is still only actually useful Dreadnought.

I voted for the Allegiance-Class Star Destroyer, i love the classic ISD design, it's so iconic, and the Allegiance looks like a juiced up ISD-II ready to kick ass. To counter the lack of hanger bays, just pair it up with a couple of Imperial Deuces, and you've got quite an effective three ship battle-group.

Optimus Prime vs The Iron Giant
That really depends which version of Prime. G1 probably wouldn't have a chance against the firepower of the Giant but other incarnations with super or combiner forms could go either way.
But then again, the Giant is not a gun. G1 Optimus mowed down Decepticons left and right before he died in the movie. If you could convince Optimus it was a threat (somehow) you've got a war machine against a pacifist.
If the Giant is actually fighting back, G1 Optimus got stabbed with a rock and suffered major damage. Then died from a few shots. G1 Optimus would not last long here.

I would say because The Combine are basically Tier 0 and The Empire are Tier 3 The Combine will win.

I would rather have the Assertor Class for my main attack or expansion fleet/s and have the Executor as more of a mobile operations center to protect core sectors. that way you can use both ships to their full potentials.

Personally my favorite imperial ship is the Victory-II Star Destroyer i find it the most practical ship both in cost and in armament its versatility is unmatched by any other imperial ship.

Mine's the Eclipse Dreadnought.
The Bellator, easily. It used to be the Eclipse but it is simply too huge and impractical.
Kind of a weird one for me - my favorite is definitely the Praetor II. Excellent mix of firepower, durability, and carrying capacity. I think it gets overlooked because it’s sort of in a weird range between a dreadnought and a star destroyer, but I really like the class.

Vin S-207 Sangheili warriors that are completely cloaked and therefore invisible to the non-augmented human eye. Along with their superior tactics, the Spec Ops Elites have a deadly arsenal too, typically duel-wielding Plasma Rifles or holding an Energy Sword. Their only weakness is lighter shielding.
They can still easily kill a human with their bare hands, yet the tools they're given allow them to stomp anything that isn't a super soldier.

It kind of depends though. The flood could defeat the daleks if they were given even the smallest bit of time on a planet full of living creatures and people.
Daleks have time travel, they win. How many times have they done an 'emergency temporal-shift" and somehow rebuild their entire empire when they were almost totally defeated and come back stronger than before

Doesn't have the logistics capacity? How do you mean? It most certainly has more volume than the executor, you can see it's much wider and much taller, it probably has around 2x the volume, the Executor is a much slimmer, and shorter ship, it's just long. It isn't designed to have a large interior, it looks to me like the Assertor class was meant to have a large logistics capacity.

1) Zerg, depending on how many they have at the start of the invasion.
2) Sargent Johnson. Han might be good in a fight but Johnson has way better training and more combat experience, also he has basically instant regeneration thanks to the book first strike
3) Doom guy is just a beast. I don't see Boba pulling anything out that he wouldn't be able to just tank
4) Probably going with the Imperial, the only chance I see is if the Yamato cannon is allot more powerful then I realize
5) Probably going to say UNSC in this case, I don't know very much about B5
6) Mandator, it's got the size and the fire power over a resurgent
7)Harrower for sure. I love the Venantor but it's got crappy fire power compared to the harrower, unless there is such a drastic difference in fire power between the two periods. Which I doubt since they seem on par or maybe more advanced in the OR
8)That's a hard one. The eternal empire does have the star forge and more force users, however that didn't help them in their time after the plague went rampant. I'd say GE because we know more about them
9) Again don't know much about B5, so I'd put my money on Covenant
10) Depends on if it's Kerrigan or the Overmind in control. We've seen Kerrigan is willing to play tricks and double cross people to get what she wants, where the Overmind just trys to strong arm everyone into submission, which I don't think will work
11)Easily the Covenant. Those CAS's are beasts and the protoss carrier didn't really have much defenses aside from it's fighters. Not to mention it's like a fifth the size of it
12) Executor. It's, again, a beast and the Protoss mother ship is more of a tactical ship then a strait up assault ship.
13) Based on the clone wars game I'm going with the Sabers

That ship does look amazing, turbolaser batteries everywhere, plus that front view displays so prominently how said batteries are positioned to apply deadly pressure towards anything directly in front of the ship. Such a wonderful example of the advantages of a wedge-shaped space warship.

The assertor also was intended to have a mini super laser (from fractalsponge’s design) which would have made it astronomically more powerful than the executor should this ever be canonized.
You're right, the Asserter-class looks very practical. It actually has guns everywhere as opposed to just on the top forward section of the ship. The underside, aft, port, and starboard sections are all covered with some form of weaponry, allowing it to defend itself at least somewhat if something should sneak up behind it.

You do know that Pre-Unending means no Asgard Plasma Beams & the upgraded Asgard shields right? That's the version of the Daedalus that I want to fight the Normandy SR-2.

I'm pretty sure for this fight he'd leave the transporters out of this. If he left them in this he wouldn't have to even put up a poll. And yeah, the Normandy's kinetic barriers will probably not be able to recognize the rounds fired by the railguns, but I'd like to see how many hits the pre-upgraded Asgard shields of the Daedalus could take from everything the Normandy SR-2 can throw at it.
mhm i think ive seen a similar versus but yeah by end of the day sr 2 throws its all on it but gets gutted becuase stargate 304 shield even before unending uppgrades are still nutty.
Got to love how all 3 of the non-movie designs you mention, are all Ansel Hsiao's (Fractalsponge's) artwork meshes. On that note, he just finished working on a pre-Clone Wars battlecruiser that flips the bridge tower so the 'T' is to the back of the hull. You might want to check it out.

Valeriy Parshin given there are about 4 other variants on the baneblade chassis, two of which are specifically designed to kill Titans. Shadowsword and doomhammer both would have no difficulty killing an atat.as for a stock baneblade,I'm not sure. I do think baneblades have void shields,or the variants do so I'm not sure what an atat could do to it. If all else fails the atat could just step on it.not really fair pitting starwars against wh40k,one of happy go lucky the other is "I don't like the look of this planet,execute order exterminatis" launching virus bombs down onto a planet then lighting the atmosphere now laden with gasses of decomposing bodies with Lance batteries.

It seems to me that the Executor could be considered more of a aircraft carrier while the Assertor, similar to the Allegiance or Bellator, is more of a battleship. And I'm talking WWII type designations here. Both very big and powerful ships, but used in different ways for different jobs.
The excutor is my favorite destroyer.
