    This is a good tutorial. I'm using this 6 years later and it has really allowed me to spice up my maps. Especially with Ibis Paint. So, thanks.

    For anyone wondering about the gridlines in photoshop, its actually 24x24 pixels for RPG MV after I checked. I am not quite sure where exactly 48 is used.
    Just go into photoshop, press CTRL+K got to grid settings and set grid per pixel to 24. That worked for me. I hope it helps.

    Probably the best tutorial voice over I've heard in the last few years. Really pleasant to listen to and not too fast that it's super hard to follow. However you may want to include links to the plugins you mention. Granted people will eventually find them on their own but it's better if you include a link.
    Good work overall and I hope to see more from you

      @@shebov3617 What you do is get the plug in, and then, design the map in GIMP2 to the best of your abilities, using layers. And say "I can do this even though it doesn't look as good as that!" This is exactly what I will be doing. This gets around the foolish tile limits that I keep running into. BTW, I am rubbish at art and perspective. What I can do though, is use GIMP > Colors> Hue-Saturation to recolour an image. I can also copy and paste. What I can't do, is get perspective quite right, draw freehand or follow layer instructions as layed out in this video without going through it several times to understand what is really being done. It may take me longer, but its worth it.
      Best wishes!

    Hi, first off thanks a lot for your videos they’ve been really useful but I’m having a problem with parallaxing that I can’t seem to solve. When I bind pictures to map they seem to bind to every other map and won’t let me change it. I’ve followed through this video and that all works well but then when I event a transfer the arrival map has the same parallax despite being given different pngs. Any chance you’ve encountered this? As I’ve not found it online

    • @Chapter.
      @Chapter. 11 месяцев назад +1

      i know this comment was five years ago but just in case anyone still needs the answer today: my fix was to, in the event where the player is transferred, simply add a line that erases the picture(s), which is the bottom left option on page 2 of event commands. you may also need to use "unbind from map" plugin command, but i did not need to. good luck everyone

      Echo607 One thing I always liked about computers and stuff like this. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a routine. Everything after that is just learning how to do things more faster and faster each time. Like when I make map for rpg maker, it takes me hours for 1 lol. It seems like without fast forward you could do it really fast.

    • @Echo607
      @Echo607  8 лет назад +1

      It depends on how detailed the map needs to be:3
      But it's like you said, you learn how to do things better the more you do it, so it makes it way easier and much less time consuming^_^

    First off, *THE* Best tutorial on RUclips yet. 2nd of all. You would make a killer voice actress!
    I mean, holy hell! Just your regular talking sounds better then most Anime Dubbing! O.o...
    Hmmmm... Have you ever thought of voice acting before?

    • @Echo607
      @Echo607  9 лет назад +2

      +TheGreat Kobayashi Well, I voice act for my own animations, and occasionally RM games/cutscenes. It'd be amazing to dub anime or something, but given my location that's pretty much impossible:(
      Also, thankies very much for enjoying^_^

    • @thegreatkobayashi9036
      @thegreatkobayashi9036 9 лет назад +2

      Echo607 Aaaaaactually! Nothing is impossible. You can always record your voice and send them as files through DropBox.Com
      There is even a website called VoiceActingalliance.com where you can live stream your voice acting with anime/Film projects. Sorry if it sounds like I am pressuring you. But you have a Awesome voice. And would do amazing as a Voice Actress.
      I'll have to check out your animations.
      Plus I am making a RPG Maker Game called, (*Calamity Trigger*) that I will also make into an Anime OVA, I already have scoring music engineers, I do all the artwork and story scripting team as well as advance script programmers, I might place the OVA here on RUclips as well.
      In the future I'll see if you're up to voice acting a character from the Game/OVA. Your tutorial has helped me with making my mapping look much better! Thank you very much for taking your time and doing this for us! And you're welcome. I am going to subscribe to your channel! keep up the good work! :3

      @Echo607  9 лет назад +1

      +TheGreat Kobayashi Wow, thanks for all the input. I'll definitely check that out. Haha, I don't actually have any of my animations up on youtube yet - they were all made before I started doing this and I haven't done any recently.
      Sounds like Calamity Trigger is going to be a massive project! I'd be happy to voice act for it, so feel free to send me a message when you're at that point:)
      And thank you very much for all of the encouragement^_^
      I'm looking forward to seeing what Calamity Trigger ends up being like!

    • @thegreatkobayashi9036
      @thegreatkobayashi9036 9 лет назад

      Echo607 You're more then welcome! :)
      If you ever decide to upload your animations on RUclips.I'll be keeping an eye out for them.
      Yea, Calamity Trigger is massive, Just writing and organizing the story alone took me two and a half years. As time goes on, I will have a slideshow of concept art and the original OST for the Game/Anime OVA in the background uploaded here on RUclips. To get people familiar with the upcoming project.
      And thanksyou! Will do! I know the character you'd do awesome at voice acting in the series! I'll keep in contact with you as the development continues. As well as keeping a look out for anymore of your videos and tutorials. I guess for an example: If you like Final Fantasy, And Kingdom Hearts, You'll like Calamity Trigger. My fantasy work is inspired by Tetsuya Nomura. I might even go as far as making the series into a Manga as well. You're welcome for the encouragement, I think. No, I know you have an awesome talent! And I know you'd go very far! Keep your hopes up! and never give up on your dreams! :D

    • @Echo607

      A game, ova, AND MANGA? Talk about dedication! (Actually, my games have a christmas chibi-video-series I was doing for fun a few years back, as well as some oneshot spinoff manga I drew... and some short stories too now that I think about itO_o)

    This is old, but you really should've added a prefix to when you changed the parallax. The Parallax background MUST BE SET TO NONE in the event (or changed, like Echo did in the video) or else it will repeat. This is a very vital thing in parallax mapping that you neglected to properly mention.

    YOOOOO, I was fucking around with MV just to see what I could make and I wanted to do a pre-rendered look like the PS1 Final Fantasy games or the first 3 Resident Evil games, but I'd settled for just making pre-rendered tiles like Donkey Kong Country or Sonic 3D Blast. But now, holy shit, this changes everything. Now instead of awkwardly trying to line up tiles I can just build an entire environment in Blender and pre-render it as a background, then use that same environment in the FMV cutscenes so it's consistent

    I'm making a game and I think it will turn out really good! I want to make it stand out visually, and therefore I want to make my custom tiles etc. But the problem is, I'm really bad at pixel art. That's why it would be greate if you maybe did a video series on that :)

      +Kev B CrackedRabbitGaming has an amazing guide on creating auto tiles. It was originally intended for VXAce but you'd just need to change the size of the tiles.
      It's called How to Create Autotiles - Color Coded Anatomy. He even has downloadable content to help as you create your own.
      After mastering that creating regular tiles is pretty simple. :D There are dozens of 8Bit art tutorials, it just depends on your software. My favorite method is to draw things large using simple colors then to shrink them down being sure to reserve sharp edges. I'm lazy that way.

    Echo´s sou do brasil e gosto muito de seus videos, aprendo muito com você e admiro muito seus videos. Mas fiquei em duvida de como configurar os quadros (grade) na parte que você diz 48 a 48. Tempo (01:08)
    Não fica ajustado muito bem não quando coloco, me ajuda nessa parte por favor, valeu.

      vc tem que ir em: editar, preferencias, guias grades e fatias, escolher pixel e botar 48

    i have a question regarding the plugin - what is the max height and width a parallax map could be? because i tried this with a really big map, 100 x 100 RPGMV tiles and i got an error that its too big. i'm new to parallax mapping, so sry xD

    • @Echo607
      @Echo607  9 лет назад

      +Belias It's cool - I find around 43x43 was where it would cap out on me and stop working, but it improved a bit with the most recent plugin version(or at least seemed too)
      I imagine it will be able to do bigger maps at some point or another as new updates are released.

      Erase the picture on the Transfer event, or have a parallel event run on the new map set to Erase the picture, and then Erase Event for good measure.

    Echo this is very helpful. Making me start over as I was designing tile sets. Got sick of trying to make it look unique. But it’s like block art almost. It’s horrible.
    Can I just freehand draw everything ?.
    So the only tiles I rely upon are the X O and * setting tiles.

      Photoshop I find doesn't have as many built in resources. I'd probably use gimp if I wasn't already pro photoshop:3
      You might be interested in using photoshop brushes though. Here are some free ones:

    Well, not the place but, if anyone can help me out, I'd be gratefull. I'm having a problem with MV, when making the "invisible tileset" with the marks on passable and not passable, that even setting the tiles as not passable on the dbase, they'r kept as passable, so the character can actually walk all over the map, on places he's not supposed to go. Checked and this only happens with the "invisible" tileset.
