Do you have any recommendations for photo editing software other than photoshop that could be useful for rpgmaker? I would like to try this out but I find the subscription relatively expensive.
Hi Diego, You don't have to merge the layers. The main thing is that if you want things to appear below the character, then they need to be exported as one image, and anything that is above the player needs to be another image.
this is awesome! would you say its better to buy mv for all its plugins already made and downloadable by the community or just buy mz if you dont already own mv?? : 0
I would say buy MZ if you don't already own MV. The community is working fast to make plugins for it and it will be the officially supported engine as it's the newest.

However, when I start up the game preview and go to my location the Clutter Layer is off to the left by one block and ujp alittle. I'm feeling incredibly frustrated. My issue is that I hate the fact that the character always looks about an arms length distance from the scenery. To resolve this I've customized my tileset so that the tops and bottoms are all offset downwards by about 30%. Using a plug-in called "Cyclone Tile priority" I can use terrain tags to make it so that when a character stands on the same tile as an obstacle (a fence for example) he will appear behind the obstacle. If he stands on the tile below, he will appear in front of the obstacle (his head won't be cut off). The question is, how do I get that same functionality with parallax mapping? I guess the short way of asking is how do I combine the functionality of "Cyclone Tile Priority* with a plugin like "Galv's layer graphics" or the "Bind Pictures To Map" plugin?
I'm having an issue where when I add the overlays they are in completely different places then where I put them. Also is there a way to overlay it on the editor so that I don't have to guess where my events go?(It almost seems like when I save the map image and open it up in photo shop the image itself is smaller than the actual map I created.
