I'm a little lost. I've done the "True" option to allow for the separate files, but it refuses to show the parallax overlay, ground, anything. I've put the numbers for the map, and the file names all check out. Is something just broken?
oh man, I really love how your sprites have different idle poses. it's a small detail but it adds a lot. you dont usually see that kind of thing in 2D rpgs. are you using a galv plugin to make the idle animation animated?
You kind of brush over it but how do you make the overlay images switch... I can't get the command to work with the Orange Overlay and no one seems to want to explain it in depth beyond showing the command, which I can't get to actually change the images.. are they broken? is there a fix? please help... also your videos have been a great help so far.
off video topic Would a tutorial for some weird like... when you beat the game it creates a text document in the game folder be possible? this could be a useful idea for new game+ with specific character names cheats codes to special doors and more! if i recall i have seen stuff similar to this done i think it was files that appeared and changing there name would allow special features and such :3 - these requests aren't for me just giving you some ideas which may be interesting or useful to others

I also have a question though, is there a way with Kaus's plugin to make the default ground layer (like in RPGmaker itself) appear higher than the parallax ground layer? I'm wondering because there were some default ground layer things I wanted to add in post-parallaxing, but I want them on the ground layer so they don't appear above my character... and I don't want to go back into photoshop for them. So essentially I'm lazy LOL, so is there a way for that or am I doomed to have to put effort in? Edit: Wait I just realized the transparent default ground layer might cover everything up if i did that? Whatever, I'll just do it the hard way lol

Hei Echo, how to screen capture map for Parallaxing but the map size is way too big (X > 28 and Y >17)? And I don't want to zoom out the map first because it will make the screen shoot blur when I paste it on Photoshop. Please help me , Echo ^^

Hi. I installed OrangeOverlays and it`s working though I have an issue with the plugin. When it`s active it activates my switches automatically. When I created an event that sets all the switches off in the beggining as a default when I moved to the Custom Parallax Map that I have created the paralaxes didn`t appear but only after the switches were turned back on. Do you know why is this happening? Please help I`m sad....::(
I don't know if you still monitor these older videos but if you do, could you help with tips on how to balance stats for battling? I can get base levels, but progressive battling difficulty seems to elude me.
It takes a lot of trial and error I've found. Perhaps there's a mathematical way to do it, but I don't know it. What I've found that works best (at least for me) is get a basic stat setup while you're making the game, but don't get too frustrated if it doesn't really seem to balance yet. After it's done, do a few run throughs to adjust things, and ask someone else to play it and their opinion (a player playing the game is a substantially different experience than the developer playing through it, so it's definitely worthwhile to take into account) What helped me a lot was taking a run through of a game I liked and taking notes on how it did stats and things like experience and difficulty progression. There are also game guides and such online with detailed notes on battle/monster stats from other games, some people have found it helpful to look at those for reference on how to do it for their own games. Stats are a difficult beast indeed, haha
So how do you get the bush region ID part to work? I must be doing something wrong.. because everywhere I place the bush ID my character won't walk there..
Okay so the issue I am having is that when I map my region my character is going through walls because the area below him is walkable, but I want him to have to go down stairs to reach that area, not just walk through the wall? I can't seem to find a fix for this.
Can you make a tutorial on how to add different songs to different enemy battles. Like if each one had it's own song. Maybe it's simple and I am just an idiot and haven't figured it out.
+TheHulkangre For boss is easy, before than the boss fight with you, you only change the battle song. if you want to random battle, you will need the troup engine from YEP, you can know more in the video of yep.

Ooooh... I just had a thought. You know all those different sound effects that can play whenever you get an encounter? I wonder if you can tweak it so it's different for a boss or a rare encounter? Like you hear a certain sound effect to initiate a battle and you know, "Oh! Nice! This is a rare enemy!"

+Mayks Spark If you're using Vehicles, you could try using "Change Vehicle Image" in some way when you enter vehicle. You can have a parallel event running with a conditional branch(page 3 of it) If Vehicle X is driven, change graphic to the on the motorbike one, Else, change it to the normal one. I haven't tested this, it was just what came to mind first.
Hey Echo :D Nice tutorial. You are using also larger chars than rtp, right? First: How do you make the parallax layer not "overlap" the Events? I have no easy fix for that. Can you help me out?
I don't have an easy way to not overlap events(I'm assuming you mean certain events.) There might be another paraplug with that feature(Galv and Victor have some) but I haven't used them much:P If you just need to turn off the para layer for all the events, make sure you have any of the upper layer stuff also on the bottom layer image, and turn off the switch set for the para layer in the plugin parameters. (might require you to reload the map to get it to take effect, I can't remember).

So, you know how on the sample map for the castle, it's roof tiles are kinda set up to where when they are next to walls, it doesn't show the border part next to the wall. I was wondering if you knew how to do this, because I've tried several different things, and every time, the border part of the roof tile shows up next to the wall. Sorry if this made absolutely no sense whatsoever XD.

Just a heads up, since it seems nobody else came over to tell you.
I already know that. I'm not really concerned. I'm still going to use a good plugin if it's good. I could care less if he made plagiarized tilesets. If the plugin itself ends up having major issues, that's ones thing. But then a better one will likely come along, so there's no problem.
For future reference, it's rather unkind to ask me for the sake of reposting on forums. That feels incredibly disrespectful to me. But this really isn't my place to get involved, so please don't ask me about it in the future:P

If you're using superorange, make sure you also have the Region Collisions plugin add-on for it - that would also likely fix your problem.

+Raziel Valentine You can do that in the tileset section of the database.
Just use them as blank tiles and place them accordingly.
