Good job! If I can make a suggestion, double your stern line around the dock cleat back to the boat. You can cast off from the cockpit rather than standing on the dock. Obviously with no wind it's less critical but if you had a wind off your port beam it would be pretty critical (among other things, too, of course).

    Just came across your channel.
Sailing alone is not so much difficult it’s a matter of planning a few steps ahead and always put safety first. When in doubt… it’s dangerous. As for traveling alone it’s a personal preference. I agree sailing is best enjoyed with others. Seeing you stepping into the boat after pushing it away is not how I would advise to do it. ( having sailed our 50 ft for a decade and often alone) To prepare make a central line on your boat from where the boat goes evenly to the dock when you pull. In our case I have let that line to our winch in the cockpit so I can release from there.
When you leave all other lines can go but that one stays around a cleat with a bit of tention and is secured onboard. Obviously a couple of fenders between the dock. Only let go that line when you’re sure you leave and push the dock away from the boat.
Use a sturdy boat hook ( I have an extra thick and extended pole for that) because falling between the boat and dock after you un tighten the boat works out disastrous. Do not use your feet with risk of falling. Keep it safe. ( I presume you have a long keel so yes it takes some force to push)
I didn’t see you dig in the anchor but assume you did. Anchoring alone with your set up is a sweaty job.
    All in all
Well done for a first time!!
As for relationships? I would ask her to make the route planning. Get her involved. Also let her help with maintenance etc. Woman are different in their approach but can be very good sailors. Although 95% of them get seasickness hence don’t leave a day before her period on a long trip. Wait a few days and then go.
    My five cents..

for your cockpit cover it might be hard to find but try using headlight cleaner that should help a lot, and if you can really find it ceramic coat it after you clear the film off of it

You could attach a 2nd main halyard to the end of the boom but rather than keep it flapping against the sail. bring it along the side of the boom, in the stack pack, attach it to the mast at the gooseneck, then up the mast to above head height, then out to the shrouds, (inner or outer) and tension sufficiently, perhaps with a bungee cord.

Sailing with you is not her full time passion. Little respect is shown towards you or your passions and sailing but camera for posing. In her defense, being together 27/7 on a boat is not for everyone; very difficult. Good luck to both of you.

Katy works full-time on a computer in a bouncing sailboat! She is approximately 28 years young and they are from the landlocked Midwest United States…now living on the Pacific Ocean. Needing a little time grounded doing yoga sounds sensible to me. Furthermore, we don’t know anything about their past personal experiences, so for those of us beyond 28 years maybe a look back would add some perspective. For those under 28 maybe a look forward. A voyage metaphorically speaking.

All it does is promote the retreat. They make a little money under-the-table on it. And then they have a big reunion. Come on, people wake up and smell the dmama.
