Where is the most beautiful place you've ever visited? The San Blas islands are one of the top for us! It was so much fun having a camera in my hands during those peaceful mornings in the anchorages ❤
i’m so impressed by boundless …so many reasons, but one very outstanding one is her very comfortable looking cockpit…especially for a 42 double ender …i love the wide helm seat with the higher additional seating behind…perfect perch while cruising along under auto pilot or wind vane…so much natural light and ventilation below, with gorgeous joinery work abound…very high quality yacht all the way around…cheers!
Well said! We agree and are so in love with her ❤️ That's so funny we actually nicknamed the upper seating behind the wheel "the perch"! It's one of our favorite spots to sit while underway. For being 42' with a "small cockpit" we fell as though we have more useable living space than the large cockpit on Seawind, and the small cockpit really gives way to a very spacious and large interior. Cheers to you thank you for commenting 😊
The airstrip is on an island called Porvenir, how cool! Do you remember it being named that? We met people who had family coming to visit via that airstrip.
Parker the photos on the beach are so beautiful. Boundless will grow with you both as you go forth on this magical sailing journey. Another Private you need to meet is Captain Plucky! Happy Sailing ⛵
way to go! new to your channel but have been an a fan of many other sailing channels ,and its refreshing to see a new take on the sailing channel! thanks foe sharing!
The San Blas Islands have competition for most beautiful. Isla del Cocos and Nuka Hiva are beautiful as well. But San Blas offers a culture that is amazing. I have 3 pieces of art from a master mula artist. I was in San Blas during January 23 and will be back in March or April this year. There are approximately 380 islands and only about 45 are inhabited. One that we anchored near was only 350 paces around the entire island including some walking in the water because of beach obstructions. Another was inhabited by one person. They are truly magical. Enjoy the islands and join some dinners on the beaches where cruisers bring their catch of the day for a BBQ over palm fronds and coconut husks.
Really nice video! I think it's smart to ease back into cruising. Especially while getting used to a new boat. Just remember, it always seems like the first big mistake or problem happens right after you relax into a routine.
One of this patterns on the fabrics that this people make, were printed on vinyl and i put it on the side of my beach catamaran! I didnt know those were from that part of the globe! I just find it on the internet! I am very happy that I saw that on your video guys!
The hard work has paid off. The boat is looking amazing, you are both looking amazing & you are anchored in an amazing place. Well done guys. Keep up the good work 💪. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
We didn't know what to think at first. I've read mixed reviews on the Mantus M2 but so far I don't think we have drug in any anchorage. We had a Rocna with a roll bar on Seawind and we loved it. Apparently the M2 can have trouble resetting with a big wind shift. We have had a couple 180 degree shifts with fairly strong winds and haven't had any issues. We always try for 5:1 scope with our 3/8" all chain rode.
Wow, that was a great video. I'm really impressed at how well you are making these videos. As and aside, if you wanted to know more about the San Blas Islands from a cruisers point of view, you might want to hunt down Plukky's channel, "Sailing into Freedom," Plukky, and Aussie like myself, spent a long time there diving and helping out the Guna People. He has many great videos on the different islands. Anyway, keep up the great work. I look forward to your videos each time.
Wow, thank you! I’ve seen a few of Plukky’s videos but it’s been a while. I don’t think I’ve seen any from the San Blas! I’ll have to check his channel out again. Glad you’re enjoying the videos 😊
@@Boundless_Adventure Yeah, Plukky spent a long time in that area and has very many videos on those islands, which includes the time he was struck by lightening in the middle of the night. It blew two holes into the bottom of his boat and he had to get under water to patch up the holes to stop the boat sinking, but was also investigated by a shark in the end. Such a frightening situation. Gotta say though, he is a real fish and spends a lot of time under water with some great spear fishing footage. Not to mention his caveman like entertainment. The guy is a real Aussie clown. Very capable and believe it or not, a very smart engineer by profession. He just acts like a Neanderthal.
Good question! It was me (Parker) who had the dream. I don't come from a sailing family and I knew nothing about sailboats up until I bought a small 20' sailboat in 2014, fixed it up and sailed it for a couple years on a small lake. I decided I wanted to find a boat I could travel in after finding the early RUclips channels (Delos, La Vagabonde etc) and realizing that its possible to see the world by boat. I found Seawind in 2016 and taught myself to fiberglass, and fixed the boat up slowly over about 6 years. 3 years into the refit I met Katy who hadn't ever sailed before. She fell in love with it that next summer, and we decided that we would chase the dream together!
Great video, Parker. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your channel. Also, is it just me, or does Katy's voice sound a lot like Natalie Portman's?
I’m pretty sure we’ve heard she sounds like her before and every time I think “yeah actually she does a bit!” Thanks for the comment and the compliment 😊 it means a lot!
very nice video, was curious about the approx cost of the stitched artwork? Is the cost of living high for islanders and cruisers? I assume things like fuel are very expensive. The islanders seem nice, are they truly nice or more looking to make money from cruisers?
A bit of both from what we could tell. The molas were fairly expensive, we paid 100 for both but we had no comparison to make. We are happy to have supported the Gunas and from our experience they are as nice as they seem in the videos. Fuel is very expensive I'm sure, although we didn't buy any while there. I think they live off the land as much as possible and am not sure of their cost of living. It seems as though they do make their livings in large part from the tourism of the cruising boats passing through
