Just started watching your channel. I'm a sailor and a commercial airline pilot. Safety is paramount! SOOOOO.....you guys are blasting along in your Dingy. "Suggestion!" Equipping your outboard with a "dead man switch" will shut the outboard engine down if you go overboard. It clips securely to your wrist. If you go overboard the pull will pull out of a plug attached to your engines ignition...GROUND IT OUT...and kill the outboard. Easy accessory to install. You DO NOT want to be swimming after your Dingy into another zip code!😮
That was some oohhh glorious dye-DIY!!😅 and yes..hapiness is in the details..but not always easy to stay there when larger future plans and dreams help too when important for you (not feeling lost someway in life). Bravely forward🎉 and sail by today's wind..or at least try😅
Nice job on the chock repair. I think I would have coated the interior of that with epoxy first to ensure a watertight seal before caulking it. Maybe even put a few stringers of fiberglass to hold the epoxy in place. But it looked good on completion! How difficult would it have been to take the cushion covers off and put them into the wash bucket or washing machine at the marina? Katy's hair looked really soft and shiny after the "salon" treatment! And a great job on the outboard carburetor! The canvas cover for the engine will keep it somewhat cooler and reduce the frequency of the gas evaporation and resin build up. But it's a good idea to drain the carburetor bowl before a period of non use of about two weeks while in the tropics. I don't think there is anything weird about being a stickler for cleanliness on your boat! I've been aboard some boats that gave a 'hint' to the contrary immediately upon heading down the companionway into the cabin. And experience is the best teacher. You learn something every time you perform maintenance.
