I met John Morris Russell in high school when he was in the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. He was a very passionate amd intelligent person. Good to see him still at it
I understand the aversion to “politics” but I can’t find myself agreeing with this dude when I know that politics is just the application of morality/ ideology through the process of government. If something is a question of morality then it’s a question of politics as well. The deep pockets of our representatives only get deeper when people decide that they don’t want to participate in politics. We should be engendered with love, rage, peace, chaos, etc. through the music we listen too. That is what experiencing art is all about. Trying to separate the two is like trying to have your cake and eat it too. We won’t be able to find the peace that we’re all looking for when we turn ourselves off to the messages of the art we consume.
When I was little, I watched my sister as she would listen to music from the 60s ,70s mostly and I remember asking her "yuck! Why does every song have to be about love?" She said, "because love is everything. Love is even you and me". That hit home with me. ♡
“Somehow I can't believe that there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four Cs. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.” ― Walt Disney
Am I the only one that finds his interaction with the audience very cringey? It's funny cause he continues to try despite there is no feedback at all. Be mindful of the audience guys!
This guy has obviously studied theories of communication involving the use of mannerisms, expressions, and body movements to generate certain emotional responses from the audience. He's just incapable of putting these theories into practice, because he's a lizard man and he has no human pathos.
Most people who have things to say are not professional public speakers, but still have important things to say, and have things to say that many people are interested in listening to. Seems like you need to relax a little.

Well said, glad there’s somebody else out there who values the big picture of what politics is about
Yep, there is no such thing as something "apolitical"
Music is love, Music is language, music is a cure, Music can heal a broken soul and a broken heart.

Omg they're among us
Music without social, and thus political context is just noise.
You can’t construe social context with politics like that. You’re making a jump in logic.
Why are so many ted talkers poor public speakers.
