- After Mayor Karen Bass promised to dismantle some of homeless encampments, the I-Team investigation found thousands of homeless RVs are still parked on the streets of LA. The I-Team's Joel Glover reports on March 6, 2024.
Just move the encampments in front of the mayor's house. Then things will get done fast.

i love how back in the day having a rv was like the epitome of having wealth your own personal home on wheels and now it's this.
Our trailer got stolen from Anaheim 2 months ago the police officers located it in LA we saw it for the first time today completely trashed cat litter thrown everywhere cloths everywhere they broke every cabinet every drawer and tagged it everywhere. Anyways most of these trailers and motorhomes are most likely stolen

Any homeless who's clean from drug addiction should be prioritized for subsidized housing to give them a second chance.
Do homeless people ever get clean? No. It doesn't help that the city gives them free drugs, or enough welfare to keep buying drugs.
The RV situation is just out of control!!! The city does NOTHING! ANYBODY else would get their car ticketed and impounded but these RVs are parked EVERYWHERE with expired tags and nothing happens! The city's excuse is "We don't have enough big wreckers to tow them" Or, "We don't have the pump trucks to empty their sewage tanks" Well buy them! Contract it out! DO SOMETHING!! You have the money! They will burn through that money for impact studies and pencil-pushing bureaucrat's salaries and NOTHING will get done!

2 times, I saw one of these RVs in my neighborhood. The woman squatted and peed in the bushes around the time kids got off the bus. Then, later, she dumped a suspicious bucket full of what I assume is human waste on the street. I feel more pity for the wildlife and stray animals that stepped in that nasty crap. Cops did very little, but other neighbors and us kept calling it around the clock and they thanfully got them out. There's some law thingy that doesn't let them stay on residental? property longer than two days or smth🙄

EXACTLY!!!! I got a $85.00 ticket for being on the street for more than the 2 hour limit. The toilet on wheels across from me hasn't moved in more than 6 months!

My neighbor was just shot and killed by one of these people they put into an apartment, now his two kids are forever damaged since he was a single parent.
She was evicted months ago, saw her former next apartment neighbor sitting in his car in Santa Monica and shot him dead

I'm 69 and I work still to pay my bills and have a place to live. This young man 'broke down' because of family deaths last year and needs 'services.' I've buried all my family including my children and I keep working. We've enabled so many into becoming helpless pets that need to be provided for.

Unfortunately there are many ex-owners of RVs who take the plates off of them and then either abandon them or sell them to a homeless person at a ridiculously low amount. Portland, OR had to crack down on this because of the “Zombie RV” epidemic. The Los Angeles city government is also at fault for failing to mitigate this problem.
How many man-hours were billed getting said "evaluation"? Along Cotner Ave that parallels the 405 as you approach Santa Monica Blvd, it's lined with RVs. There's a street in Gardena there is another similar street. I wonder if the safe parking effort has looked into waste management so they don't just dump it down the storm drain? I guess one way to not get ticketed for having your car parked illegally is to leave a bunch of clothes in it, a blue tarp covering the inside of the windows and fast food cups and wrappers on the dash.

I’m all for van life, but I’m not for van dwelling, not gonna lie the RV situation in Los Angeles is insane, they’re absolutely everywhere, the city will need a huge budget and they may have to pull in cops from all over the county possibly neighboring counties to help combat the situation, they would need a dedicated task force.
RVS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PARK ANYWHERE, THE PROBLEM IS THEY DONT MOVE AROUND BAD ENGINES NO MAINTENANCE, EASY TO SAY KICK THEM OUT WHEN YOUR NOT IN THEIR SHOES

I dont think you understand how weather in l.a. gets and even with a rocket jet torch wind proof water proof lighter its extremely difficult to get a nice rock or shard going in a glass pipe if you dont have cover and homeless shelters will let you hit the pipe but you get treated like crap if instead you decide to bring a bag of chips and soda rather than drugs.

People need to GO BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM. Around 4,000+ drug addicts, derelicts, and deadbeats come to L.A. every year JUST TO BE HOMELESS. No wonder the problem can't be solved.

3 months ago Karen Bass cleared a huge homeless encampment from DWP property in Poinsettia Park. They did a huge PR event. Right after that these homeless set up tents on my street on Sycamore Avenue. They have taken over the entire sidewalk and then some. They have taken away over 4 parking spots because their junk overflows to the street. They make noise all night and burn toxic fumes. DWP got rid of them, now we have to deal with them.
I want FREE housing, but I ain’t doing NO program….
Dude just set out couple acres on outskirts of town/city meant for those who are homeless with rules aside for trash disposal, and no drug zone.

When those black water tanks are full, they will dispose of that raw sewage wherever convenient. In lieu of any lasting solution, government owned facilities with proper sewage disposal is as sound a plan as any.
The issue with RVs is complicated. Why? Because many RV owners are legitimate RV campers, not RV-unhoused. We own an older RV, and we park at home. Unfortunately, we have been targeted by regular citizens, assuming we are homeless. Except we live in a 2.1 million dollar home. No all who operate vintage RVs are homeless, and using crack.
Send them to the Mojave Desert! There’s plenty of room there.
