- 11-year-old throws "Thank You" party for police
A young boy in Michigan helped coordinate an appreciation event for his heroes: the men in blue. Steve Hartman went to the party, where more than 250 showed up to support their police officers - and to say "thank you" to their young fan.
If only all kids were as intelligent as this guy
I agree. The thing I would change in your statement is "if only everybody were as intelligent as this kid".
I wish I was as humble/incorruptible as this young man. He’s a pinnacle of what good is. I’m a monster compared to him, I hope nothing has changed/swayed his opinion.
I especially hope when he does become an officer no one tries to frame him in the way some people do to hard working officers now.
He is the officer we need
There are many young people like him. They just aren’t acknowledged. Just like with the officers we focus on the bad and forget about the many who are good. We do the same thing with each other. We know there is good and bad in people, yet we are so focused on the negative and the bad that we don’t see just how many great people adults, young, black, white, and so many other races that are actually good. When we stop looking for the bad all the time we will see just how much the good does outweigh the bad, and that we have so many young people like this young man and not just a few. We should support and encourage our young people to be the very best, and do their very best.
I dont hate the police but i dont love em as a hispanic 13 year old i do get herrased mutiple times a day and than putting police killing people or shooting a guy 16 times boils over in rage and police die but if we got rid of these rasist and killer cops i would not have to worry about being held at gunpoint for something i dident do

@@jayhendrix4093 I'm glad to hear that Jay. My dad was a police officer and my stepmother was a jailer. My dad worked the night shift and he would always come in and see us boys before he would leave. I was always so proud to see him in his uniform. My dad passed away in 2006. He was a great man.

I hate it. Under the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" principle the handful of bad officers squeak louder then the good ones.
The thing is, bad things that happen tend to be harder to forget then good.
i think the most heartbreaking thing was the question he asked his mom “the cops are still the good guys right?”

I remember when I worked at Hobby Lobby that this offer bought a bought of peanut brittle. I asked him why so many and if they tasted good cuz I get curious like a child at times. He was so nice that he offered me one (I had to decline cuz of my job), he told me how they tasted and that he bought them for youths he meets during his patrols. I was touched and thanked him for his service. He blushed cuz people don't, usually, thank them.
When everything seems to be going crazy lately..a little good news is truly a mental and emotional uplifter....more stories like this
Trust me America is blessed to have a lot of good police men on uniforms. I am black immigrants Muslim and i do truly trust the men. In the Uniform i say thanks for the good work keep doing what you guys doing and there are out there people that appreciate your work for the people.

I am Muslim also and the way people treat cops is the same way people treat minorities when 9/11 happened it got hard for us because everyone was scared of us and it’s the same thing with everything else I wish people could see this. Ik this is an old comment but I wish nothing but the best for you

I lived in the states for almost 6 years.I only had come across the lovely cops:stopping me to check my car"s papers or stopping me 4am but always in a very respectful tone.

It also suggests us that the cops are not habitual of receiving gratitude from the society. Because most people think all cops are bad guys.

You know what? I usually never comment on these things but man we focus on the bad so much, but we rarely aknowledge the good. Hats off to you sir. We need tough cops, yes. But, we also need men like him as well. This is what it means to protect, and serve. Well done sir.

Oh we as a society need to bring cops and people together. Our society has and still is falling apart. Both officers and people need to bond, May this generation of small kids bring a better relationship between LEO and society. Yes, there are bad cops, but we must remember that many do exist.
Got a new recruit coming to the Lansing Police Department and I think they're looking forward to that day. I appreciate what the police do, put their lives on the line to save lives, my brother-in-law is a deputy at our Sheriffs Station and he served in the Army so he just keeps trying to serve and protect and I'm damn proud of him.
I think this is the first video in a while that I watched and smiled all the way through.
Now this young man was raised right, we need more of this in our world.

What a wonderful young man! I have the same view toward cops as this boy. My grandfather was a Chicago cop, and I always pray, thanking him for his service to the community, and I know that the cops aren't out there to GET someone, but they're out there to HELP someone. That's what my mom always told me. Yes, there are a handful of bad cops out there, but we as a society need to focus far more on the good cops and the good deeds they do instead of all the negativity the news brings out.

Very happy for the kid and the parents for teaching him right. I've had bad experience with police but even I still know that most of them are good people who are risking their lives for us. We should care about those who protect us. We shouldn't teach our kids ignorance and to be afraid of police because that how they grow up not trusting police and won't call police for help because they were told not to trust them. Teach them right, don't teach them ignorance just to support your idea of hate that may or may not exist where you are.

From the good to bad cops that was very nice of that kid giving those police officers party. I just love that LAPD cop broke down in tear. And that was nice officer giving him his own police shirt and badge.
That's wonderful. Good lad. Good cops are out there working hard for our communities. Why we only hear about the bad is another story. Respect and love for all the good out there.
We hear about the bad because we are trying to expose and eliminate them. Sometimes we forget to also notice the good.

That Kid has Heart & Guts! It's not PC to stand up for Law enforcement today. But he is 110% correct, there are bad/A hole officers out there, just like every other occupation. But there ae some Great officers serving their communities too. I served as an MP in the Army, there were some real jerks wearing those bolo badges, I tried not to be 1 of them. To protect and serve, that's the way I went at. I still remember receiving goodies on Holidays from some of the people I had helped out along the way. That made it worth while, that young man is wise way beyond his years! All those officers will remember that and talk about it for the rest of their lives. Good Job young Man, Well Done!
I won’t forget this mindset. Even through all the things going on nowadays his year, I won’t forget this is what police officers and police work is actually about. Just people serving the community, just people that are protecting and serving their communities. Serving me.
I’m going to take time to be thankful for them and also remember this mindset of expressing thankfulness to our police. This was a heartwarming reminder of that.
