Total price $31! Time to wire up, approx 1hr depending on how neat you are and if you really want plugs, Not phone friendly but can be set up to allow different settings too. 2c Cheers!
I've just bought the Focus 2023 Sam2 6.8, what speed box is needed for that please? It has the magent over the valve on the rear rim..cheers for any help!!
Same here, Orbea Wild 2023 with rim magnet. Any tuning device to sugest to ride freely and safly above 20 miles an hour here in the USA ? Thank you in advance.
Can you show how to switch POWERMORE READY = no --> yes so the range extender can be installed? For some reason, HAIBIKE and other manufacturers are blocking Bosh range extenders. People are buying bikes unaware that you cannot install range extender...
Please make a video about the 1.2 for Rim magnet. Preferably on Cube. I am reading about bad experiences with these ... Getting tampering errors. Quite an expensive chip if you're not certain it works. Thanks.
I have a mondraker crafty 2022. After 600km, the chip still works like a charm. No errors whatsoever. I note that the instruction book says to limit the top speed assist to 35km/hr, which i have done. Is there a risk in increasing the top speed assist to 50km/hr? And for anyone considering derestriction, don't use the app to update the firmware, as the purpose of these updates is to stop bikes from being derestricted.
Increasing speed above 35km/h in a situation where you are travelling consistently faster then 35km/h in a straight line for long periods in turbo mode has a small chance of causing an error, This is most likely to occur in a commuting riding enviroment. If you are consistently varying speed and changing modes which is common in trail riding there is no issue over 35km/h.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll increase to 50 and see how it goes. I'm riding single track trails but just lacking that extra assistance in one section.
I’ve heard the same on chips for Bosch gen 4 smart system. I would hate to spend $450 for only 10 miles. I can’t see myself needing more than 39 miles on single track like you dude 😆 I’ve only hit my 20 mile limit a handful of times. I need it to speed to commute to the trails and back home. I find this error code situation too stressful. I’ll spend the money but not to have my bike go limp and cause me issues. I wish they would address this topic head on instead of companies saying “you should be fine” bs!
We plan to have a video up for the sam2 by January, We are currently waiting on a new chip to test we have found the current rim magnet chips available to be unreliable at best.
Still not clear on what the difference is Smart system and other option would help if someone did a video showing the difference I have a cube reaction Hybrid 750 with kiox 300 display what chip can I use
hi, i have the same bike and just to warn you that tried the volspeed deristrictor and all was well for about a week then the speed manipulation error code appeared which meant i had a 90 minute ( 30 mile ) unassisted ride to clear it. I contacted the supplier who said volspeed tested it against my software and couldnt find an issue so i tried again even lowering the max speed assistance down to 25 mph, but roughly a week later it was detected again and shut the motor down, this time being told that i shouldnt have used Turbo mode as much and not go above 22mph !! As this was the 3rd time speed manipulation had been detected i was faced with a bill for a local Bosch service bike shop to clear the fault codes, but they refused when they realised it had been chipped, luckily after a couple of days hard pedalling to work and back it cleared irself and i now am too worried to try again, but would love to find a reliable way to deristrict it again as once you try it 15mph seems so slow, hope this helps
I have HaiBike AllTrack 4 and speed 25km/h is so annoying. It's still an amazing bike, don't get me wrong but...too slow. When you are connected by smartphone with bike with the recommended app during riding, I think it is impossible to trick the system just by chip. All that shit goes straight from you bike to brands like Bosh or Yamaha, and they will avoid you from tuning that dramatic 25km/h. Not sure actually. But there is potential that with every update of the software you are doing, your bike is more impossible to hack with speed.
We are expecting a rim magnet kit to be available within the next couple of months. We have tested a few early versions but they are not yet reliable enough.
Happy to see a different derestricted brand! 👍🏽 How is this unit different from the following. Speed box 3.0 can be adjusted to 99 km but has higher chance of setting off error code specially if set higher than 45km The Volspeed 4 could only be set up to 45 km and is said it doesn’t shoot error codes. I guess my real question is how does this unit handle the possibility of error codes!? That is the only reason most people don’t get one of these units. They don’t want their toy to go into “limp mode” 😳😂
In our experience all brands including Volspeed have a chance to get error codes if travelling at consistent high speeds in a commuting environment. Eg Riding in Turbo mode at 45km/h or more for hours everyday. If you change modes and vary your speed like most trail riding conditions you are far less likely to run into any errors.
@@EpiceBikes thanks for the reply. That is good to know. So if traveling long distances can I just switch modes every 5 minutes or so, would this help or is it more to do with speed rather than time? So in the case you do get an error code on your bike. What then? What is our insurance policy that the de-restrictor chip continues to work? What are the procedures to follow if this occurs?
Yes if travelling long distances it's best to both vary speed and the mode you are in. Its the amount of time at high speed in turbo mode that contributes most. If you get a 504 error you can reset it by removing the chip and taking the bike to a bosch dealer, Riding for 90 Minutes or simulating riding for 90 minutes by spinning the cranks with a drill. Once reset the bike and chip will continue to work as before.
@@EpiceBikes OH! Ok so I’m in. Can I make a suggestion? This information should be put on the websites selling these chips. All the EMTB riders I know are on the dark regarding what to do if this occurs. They are thinking the chip goes bad and they would have to buy a new one. And they are not cheap! After this new info provided I now can see myself getting on board. A little further investigation on my part is due. It’s very different having these statements on a website than on a forum. Something to consider, doing so would separate you from the pack as every other company I have seen only mentions “possible” errors code. Thanks for the info. And yes, I have no problem switching modes on long rides to avoid issues. Is just the information that’s missing to empower the customer to also be proactive in using the chip correctly.

Surely a write to a single data register is all that's needed, the register that stores the max assist speed.

It depends what display you have on your handlebar

Kiox 300 display is a smart system display. You would need the chip in this video if you speed sensor is located on your rear disc rotor.
What is the chip called ? I have a Haibike allmtn 5 2024 with the kiox 300 smart system, this chip in the video will definitely work my friend ?
