Auto mode is great for steep climbs on dirt roads. Just found out it works better than all the modes on steep, loose, rocky climbs. Because of its even power delivery, it keeps traction much better than Turbo or EMTB. I set my auto mode at max power.
Lovely - but this made me laugh: @6:29 "Do you still ride turbo? - Not very often - I use auto-mode almost exclusively" - @8:10 - checks out the APP - "I'm in turbo quite a bit (32mi)-(auto 9mi)" LOL
Haha. Well, that’s actually the Auto mode putting the bike in Turbo. It shows a break down of what percentage of your ride each mode is in while using AUTO. pretty cool actually
Good eye Ricky, I was given the bike the morning of the shoot. I was in fact in Auto mode the majority of the time. The miles in Turbo was done during test rides by the designer.
@@briancleveland2384 Hi Brian! I just got my new Crestline RS 75/50. I'm having a tough time deciding what ride modes I should put on it. It currently has the Touring, so that is definitely one that will go away. I'm thinking Eco, Auto, EMTB, Race, but still having a though time deciding if I should add Turbo and get rid of Eco or one of the others. Any info on what you, the teams and others have been using would be greatly appreciated!
@@maxflight777 What I did is make a kind of "waypoints" (actually they are 50-meter routes made with the KOMOT application, once created the FLOW application automatically imports them to "my routes"). So if I'm in the middle of the mountain and I want to go home (pepe bar, fuente del pino or wherever). I open my routes and press the one I did in front of my house of 50 meters and I hold down, and it will automatically calculate the route to go to my house without doing anything. (BE CAREFUL... IT ONLY WORKS ON ANDROID, with the Iphone it doesn't let you click on the route).until version 1.15.10
Does Bosch have an Apple Watch App where you can glance at your watch to see ride info and battery percentage? This way You can get away with only the Star ship Enterprise.
Ok im Annoyed i just bought a 2024, 5 grand emtb and its not got the auto or sport mode! How can i Get this thrn tske it to my dealer? And would it be free since its a week Old or is it available over the air? One thing I only knew about this since watching this video all the rest emtb running smart systems are using the old system its like knowone knows about auto and sport
Got the update end Feb and 2 more since! Crazy so it is now can't update app as purion 200 will throw out that ID conflict if do everyone's saying on the new video's about it and how to avoid £105 trip to the dealer to sort the conflict! I checked yesterday with my lbs they want 105 bucks
Can you see the battery serial number via the app? I've ordered a bike with an integrated battery and want to check the battery is 750wh as per the specifications on the dealer website (some of the other specs were wrong hence i want to check) Thanks

This cannot be included in a regular Bluetooth update since I have still not yet gotten the option. Do I have to visit my local Bosch dealer?
How do you turn on Auto mode? I got the rail 7 gen 3 with bosch performance line cx smart system. The colors on my controller are Green, Blue, Purple and Red. Any of those are Auto mode? Also I've connected the flow app on my phone as well.
The Bosch CX motor is the best out of all that I've ridden, the app, not so much. I think they're too caught up in adding features. I have last years system with the Kiox on my Rail and I thought it was cool at first but the only thing I use it for is looking at the current mileage on a ride, and range remaining. Everything about the Bosch systems seem bulky and overly complex. I recently got a Spec Turbo SL, now THATS how I like it. Minimal switch and display along with a very useful and easy to use app. I really dont need the bike to upload my Strava ride, its easy enough to do that myself. Komoot, Apple, etc... all just serve as distractions that become a pain in the ass when all you want to do is ride a bike. Bosch makes great components, I think they focus too much on recreational riders. Hopefully the new race version will be stripped down.
You're right I had the purion but couldn't stand the horrible screen I agree though, the kiox was kinda a waste of money as I don't use the features either
I just got delivery of a new 2023 Cube Kathmandu eBike and the modes are Turbo, Auto, Tour+ and Eco. I believe the bike shop sets all this up so yes you can have both. The only issue is that you cannot select what modes you want without the bike shop setting it up for you - which is annoying.
Hi I'm having trouble syncing my rides from the Flow app to Strava. I've tried everything and am at a loss to why it won't sync. I noticed that my ride data doesn't have a Import button on the bottom of the ride Data. Could hat be the reason. Thanks in advance for your assistance
I've been riding an R&M Bosch Smart System bike now for about a week now, with a Rohloff drive-trrain and electronic switching. Modes are "Off", "Eco", "Auto", "Sport" and "Turbo"). I realise that, although many seem to like Auto Mode, it's not something I will ever use. Does anyone know if it's possible to reprogramme that "slot" to another ordinary-type mode, maybe somewhere in between Eco and Sport?
A couple unrelated questions- Is there two different apps for Bosch. The one I have been using (says Bosch on it) does not allow changes. It does track my rides and connects to my Apple Watch. I just looked in the App Store and there’s an app named “Flow”, is that the app I should be using? I believe you said you were riding in Bend (Oregon). I try to visit Bend yearly but it has been over a year since I was there. Bend was not very ebike friendly last time I was there. Where were you riding? Has some single track opened up to ebikes? Before I had to switch to an ebike (injury) I really enjoyed riding in Bend. I hope things have open up to class 1 bikes. Thanks for all the great info you guys provide- John
I think the guys were a bit quick on their answer. It depends on what Bosch system you got, the Flow app is only for the new smart system not any other bosch systems. You can tell if you have the smart system by looking at this video and if you got the same remote unit as they have on their bikes then you got the smart system.
great overview. Cant wait to see what 2023 will bring for E-Bikes. Just starting my discovery of what is on offer, and appreciate the industry insiders POV.
I do think the Bosh is Awesome, when i Ride i dont use al the modes just EMTB and Turbo ocasonally, dont really want more functions, its getting a' bit juvenile, trying to have more funtions Nobody needs just to have the Edge over the competition, remember Guys We will have to Pay for al this Crap one way or the other! Its a'Bike not a' Computer game!
It's all fluff. Was looking to get a R&M Multicharger, but it's a "demo" with less than one hundred miles. Bosch will not give it a warranty. They are calling it a "second owner" bike. So their "stuff" must be shit if they can't stand behind it.
I don’t like e bikes getting away too much from a natural Analog type feeling. When you go back n forth between analog and E bike it really affects or makes it harder to go back-and-forth between bikes.
Thanks for the input! They are definitely different feels but you’ve always got the lightest assist mode and the ability to customize power and delivery in the App.
I gotta admit that the e-bikes are fantastic but I feel like they are taking away from the experience of just a natural ride and making things more technical
the worst thing of all that is that they made it impossible for the cyclist to drive faster than 25 km per hour, which is complete nonsense, but you forgot that there are a lot of smarter people than you at bosch, so they hacked your complete program for the CX engine and enabled that we can drive the engine as much as we want without your service having no idea about it, nor can it be seen at the service in any way 😊 PS and that your new mobile app for example drains the iPhone 13 mini completely in three hours, so I absolutely do not recommend using Bluetooth with that bike app👎

Surely needs to be connected to a garmin watch or garmin head unit
I love the “Auto” mode will change Tour+ to emtb again, so I keep Eco,Auto, emtb, turbo that is imo perfect !

Does any of the new features work with bikes that have the Bosch Purion
Is the "Auto" feature a dealer installed update, or available the flow app?
A bloody good question that should have been answered in the video !

can SRAM AXS GX be connected to Bosch Smart System to automatically control switching speed?
I'v got a cube 750w battery that has less range than my older 625w ghost ebike. I'm so confused why
Why can't I see my heart data in the Bosch app and also not in Strava after the upload?

Does it mean that you can still switch and display mods on the kiox 300 between eco/tour/ auto/emtb and turbo? Thanks for the video
Yes you can. Or you can set it in Auto and forget about it.
