She already deleted her apology video so all the new subscribers would never know that there was an issue in the first place. Just shady behavior all around.
@@NOBSBeauty I thought she deleted it too, turns out she just made it private. I had to go to reddit to access it. You can view it as long as you have the link Correction: it's unlisted, not private, hence why you can access it with a link
The Naturium/Susan Yara scandal really opened my eyes about RUclipsrs and made me stop trusting most skin care reviewers. I feel like most of them are just shilling products, and now that many of them are back to promoting Naturium I wonder how much collusion there is among the skincare YT community. The good news is that I'm no longer tempted to buy a bunch of new products just because of positive YT reviews. You, on the other hand, provide detailed and honest reviews of products and I trust you more than anyone else.
I felt the same way. If anything the rise of RUclipsr skincare has made me more aware, and has developed a habit within me to check several sites for reviews when I’m considering a product. It takes time, but you get a better idea of what might be worth purchasing and what you should either hold off on or not buy at all.
I too feel the same way. I've completely switched which skincare youtubers I'll watch because it's just starting to seem like the most popular channels are only highlighting brands that are paying them, with no focus on anything else. If it takes a sponsorship (and only a sponsorship) for a product to end up on your channel only to disappear forever once the sponsorship is over I start to question just how much you really liked that product you were gushing about last week that is now just used as a prop in your rotating background.
Just yesterday two of my favorite small youtubers mentioned they had unsubbed from ALL skincare youtubers because of shadiness, shilling their friends products and not disclosing their partnerships. I unsubbed mine last month.
I don’t trust her and won’t give my money to a dishonest brand. Also can’t believe she was promoting her own brand by attacking the ordinary and other brands. Shady shady
Also, shout out to Caroline Hirons for instantly calling her out on her bull shit. It definitely made me question where the skincare community would draw the line ethics wise. This women bare-faced lied to everyone and faced little to no backlash.
Not to mention that she only came clear because she was being black mailed... And her explanation never Made sense, she was contradicting her self, a clear sign that shes not truthful. I was disappointed by a lot of RUclipsrs too, with all these brands we have, why do I have to be reminded of her and her scam all the time?
@Jasleen idk about blackmailing but people in her fb group did some digging and were asking too many questions. When they brought it up she pulled the women should support women card. Because we can't hold women accountable? This is the first time I heard of blackmail. Maybe op meant they pressured her into coming forward because of their digging? She even mentioned this in her "apology." She basically called them mean girls...for calling out her shady practices.
@Jasleen she said it in her apology video (which i hear she took down?????) maybe blackmailing is not the right word (english is not my first language) but she basically was pressured to come out because people were finding out about it.
Hi hun, I have always been conflicted on this one.. I am willing to give a second chance (though this is a personal decision for each person to make and I would never say everyone needs to give them a second chance) but ultimately the products as ok with decent formulations but nothing ground breaking and so I shop elsewhere as whenever I come to look at the brand in the back of my mind I am always brought back to the lies told in the launch... Loving your honesty and review as always hun xxxxx
perfectly said! I have been conflicted as well... and yes I can get those formulations other places... like you I proceed with caution and always remember. also I had a weird conversation with their customer service that really put me off ordering through them anymore. All in all love the honesty here! keep making great videos you two!
So happy to hear from you! It really is so nice to see that there are some forgiving souls other there in the world, and during a time like this, we need you most! Thank you for providing your take on the situation, this is always a good way to discuss issues in the skincare world!
I love how you stand by what you believe. I’m not going to lie I have thought about buying her products however because I know the whole mess I haven’t. We don’t realize we are the ones that give these people the power & that’s why they get away with a lot.
Very good points. I get tempted to test out everything and I totally understand why you might want to try them, stay strong! I wonder if Susan will still be posting you RUclips in the years to come, especially when her audience has dwindled.
@@NOBSBeauty yeah & another thing I started disliking about her is how now she believes she’s superior than others because she’s been around for awhile & have her own products 😑 I honestly hope that you keep growing because we need people like you that stay truth & don’t let money buy your opinion on stuff!
I seriously respect you for making this statement because I am so annoyed at how skincare content creators are either avoiding talking about it or ignoring the criticisms. It's just a reminder that people on this platform are driven by their money rather than ethics.
I used to watch every single one of Susan Yara’s videos. The day I realized we all got bamboozled, I stopped watching her. I would never purchase a product from her solely based on that fact. Her company will always be rooted in deception. It’s amazing how quick a person can go from fan to faux the moment they’re deceived. That said, all the best to her. I just won’t be involved in supporting her or her brand. So many other fish in the sea.
Very well said. When I realized I owned two of "her" products and that it wasn't a legit brand I was pretty disappointed. And even more disappointed that I couldn't return them.... I'm okay with that because I can show everyone the ph of that vitamin c serum and how ineffective it will be.
If she didn't know what she was doing someone around here did. Her marketing team should have stopped that immediately. It's super shady. I have no desire to try any of her products. I won't support her.
I wonder if that was a calculated risk, as long as Naturium was successful she didn't care about RUclips any longer? Not sure, just a thought, everything she does seems to be calculated and relates to money. Does she still publish videos- I wonder, but not willing to go and check, lol!
@@NOBSBeauty She still does publish videos but I can't watch her, I just feel icky watching her. I wonder that too- if she did it on purpose to bring more attention good or bad to her and her brand but what a cost to pay. Most of her relationships with the skincare community thrown down the toilet. It's sad when people don't value integrity and a good name. I respect people like yourself because you value integrity. If her brand flops what will she have?
@@sharroon7574 Wow, you’re right. From 80-500k views to 20k views per video. I wonder if her subscriber count truly represents the number of subscribers, if you catch my drift 😐
Thank you so much for bringing much needed attention to this topic once again. I appreciate your level of integrity and I trust you even more now than ever.
I was okay with just letting Susan and Naturium fade into the sunset... but now that others seem to want to bring it back... I just can't with that! Maybe every 3-4 months I'll have to do a reminder video.
Honestly, I feel like you and Mad About Skin were the only two channels who actually called her out or cared after the initial scandal settled down a bit. It's kinda sad, because it means that the bigger channels I watch have no integrity at all... not that her products are available here, so I have no dog in this fight, but still.
Yes, fully agree- that women Does not have integrity and her products is very avarage.... and I think there is no place for such a behavior - especially at her age...
I have stopped watching her completely, I don't think I have access to her products here but as always, there are plenty of brands to try and only 1 face space of real estate so not wasting my time on 2nd chances, whatnot.
There are so many brands out there I don't feel the need to buy Naturium. The worst is, after doing something illegal then shutting down people criticizing her, that her apology was not even an apology. It was a, "I'm sorry you felt bad/felt the way you did." What?? That's no apology whatsoever. Geez. I will never buy Naturium.
Once I see that someone has a total lack of integrity and character, I completely distance myself from them (and any products they represent.) I will never trust anything she says, and will continue to "vote" with my money. The final "nail in the coffin" for me was when after all the months of creating formulas and reviewing products on her channel, she then claimed to have just signed the "contracts" to make her co-owner. This was just semantics as far as I was concerned. I do respect those who have decided to give her a second chance, but for me, it's a NO GO!
I love your comment, and it is nice to see some forgiving souls out there as well. I really prefer to only spend my money on brands I trust and brands that really care about what products they make. Susan really did this over a long period of time, which I think a lot of people have forgotten, this was done over months and was a thought out strategy.
@@NOBSBeauty YES! I cannot imagine how someone could look into the camera and act like she was reviewing a "new" brand, as if she knew nothing about it. Such calculated untruthfulness says everything I need to know about her. How could I ever trust anything she has to say?
But yet she claimed to have been involved with the formulation lol, how is that true if she had just signed lol, it's ok cause the one place that doesn't forget is the US government lol, they love rich lying youtubers!!
I’m not sure if this is true but recently in Susan’s stories she expressed frustration at the incorrect pH claims about her Vitamin C formulations, she said the l-ascorbic acid is encapsulated using newer technology that allows it to be effective even at a higher pH. She said those who say otherwise don’t know about formulating and she would love to see them take it up with the Naturium development team and dermatologist! 😅 I was also put off of her products after the scandal but I gave them a try and they are really excellent so I got over it. Especially the azelaic acid serum gives me such fast brightening results. I don’t have your integrity I guess 😆
Thank you soo much! I was getting a little irritated listening to this thinking these products don’t use regular l-ascorbic acid and thus don’t necessarily need a low pH for optimal skin penetration of the vitamin c derivatives. I have also tried a few of the products and enjoy them. I think this brand is making decent formulas regardless of the scandal.
Thanks for the comment... I have dark skin so I can't use very strong formulas or it causes damage (pigmentation) and this pH and encapsulated Vit c actually is what dark skin needs... Glad to hear they work well.. Gonna have to try them after all
i wasn’t aware of the scandal before purchasing naturium’s retinol complex cream - & i’m glad i didn’t know because i absolutely LOVE this stuff. it’s my first time using a retinol product (at age 41) & i plan to repurchase because it‘s just that wonderful.
They don't even disclose the percentage of the Vitamin C which is supposed to be important in terms of acid. They used to disclose it as 22% now they don't anymore. I have to return one of my serums from them but I have to pay for return label. I'm dissapointed as I loved some of their products before. I also noticed on some of her stories that she is claiming that one of regular customers saw her on target even though it's just her very close friend and knowing that they did the video on purpose it's just too much lying. She is just using it to promote her brands in Target which includes lying to some of her stories.
She certainly does have a pattern of deceit, which I guess for some people comes really easy, especially when it pertains to money. It's all so unfortunate. She could of done this in a legitimate way, but for some reason decided not to. I'll never quite understand it all.
@@NOBSBeauty I know. Look at Peach and Lily, Soko Glam they might not have bunch of followers but I would trust these brands all over again. In terms of price point I would just stick to my Inkey List and The Ordinary atleast I know it's not full of gimmick and lying on social media.
I will never buy from Naturium. Susan Yara's shady behaviour from the start and to now discover that she monetized her apology, what the heck? I've deliberately avoided my fave skincare RUclipsrs videos reviewing the brand, I don't want to lose trust in them too.
Can you tell that the monetized apology video really got to me. As a creator there are videos I don't monetize because I don't think they should be- really short videos, videos on holidays, videos on news topics or controversial topics- I don't want to make money on that. But the fact that she monetized an apology is what really irritated me.
As an owner of several MS craft products, they tended to be outstanding, lif a bit expensive - well-designed, well-made, long-lasting, and usually quite pretty when used. (I watched for sales). I am not hearing similar excitement regarding Naturium. Also, MS went to jail for lying about investments, not her craft supplies.
I totally respect your choice, but I would like to offer some context from my background in investment. Naturium is a venture capital brand, meaning the brand didn’t exist at all before the capital influx and full product launch. These types of brands are basically already in production long before the business is a functioning unit. In these types of businesses, it is incredibly common to have investors join the company by putting up a large capital stake and taking a percentage of the company. For instance, half a million would get you 10% of the company. As long as the brand is still unestablished, in this case mostly unknown to consumers, the title of founder and owner is applied. It’s mostly to let the owners feel like they have similar standing. Frequently these investors know the investors in the brand personally and are in similar fields. This is incredibly common across lots of different consumer goods. Shark Tank has a similar paradigm. The most important part to remember is that every person involved with the negotiations of the purchase would have been under Non-disclosure agreements. Susan disclosing her interest in the line would have really affected this deal. Every lawyer I know would have demanded their client do the same thing. I agree that the first videos aren’t completely honest and definitely full of marketing. But that dishonestly reflects someone who wanted full credit for being a founder, not someone who was misleading consumers purposefully.
I remember the Sunday Riley scandal but I still to this day use her skincare it’s great! That’s coming from a skincare junkie I try so many products and still can’t replace some of her products. I haven’t tried naturium but I’ve seen lots of reviews from people that suffer from hyperpigmentation love naturium and for that price it’s pretty good not to try.
I personally won't purchase anything from her brand. I'm shocked when I heard it was coming to Target. It is a shame the people who are aware of the brand's scandal are those who are active in the skincare community, not the everyday consumers.
😀😄I really just wanted Susan to fade away, and I would let her do that, but not if other RUclipsrs are trying to sneak her back in like nothing happened....
Hey Sara, I heard you saying the same thing in another video. The Ph of the products is so high, because the Ascorbic Acid is incapsulated in its own ph, thats why it contains gold, because actives are incapsulated in gold. At least this is what Susan said.
THANK YOU for speaking out! This was so shady, I have no trust in that company. If that's the way you want to start your journey, what will stop you from keeping on doing shady stuff?
Love your honesty.. I haven't tried one product from this brand yet but some products do seem like they have some good formulations.. I am located in Canada so purchasing this brand can be difficult...
I was going to purchase Naturium from target a month or so ago. Then I googled for some reviews but found a cesspool of scandals instead. She definitely knew what she was doing, she just doesn’t care. She should be fined by the government for breaking laws. Now I know better than to trust a new brand I find at Target!
good on you for doing research! i was so disappointed when i saw that Target started carrying the brand. She knows she lost her fanbase so now she has to rely on targeting unsuspecting in-store customers who don’t know anything about her. So gross.
I'm not a particularly emotionally driven person, and will make decisions using common sense and logic over feelings most of the time. And it's a reality, like it or not, that people screw up, intentionally or no. Second chances make sense, because we can all be better in some way. BUT.... there are so many other brands/products I still need to give a 1st chance, that Naturium falls so far down the line, so far down....probably never get to it 😉
I purchased the greens cleanser and vit c before I knew of this scandal. The cleanser is horrid, very fragranced and you have to use a lot to get a proper cleanse. Not seeing any benefits from the vit c either. Gonna stick with me fave Krave beauty. Thanks for the honest conversation!
Unfortunately I didn't like any of the products I've tried from naturium (niacinamide serum, the niacinamide essence, and the sleeping cream) they looked so good! But the serum burned, the essence was kind of oily, and the sleeping cream was so matte matte drying
Her gang of “big skin care influencers” are a sellout. Trying hard to say good thing about her and the brand. I unfollowed them! Beauty Within, Cassandra Bankson, etc.
@@NOBSBeauty wait who the hell they think they are?! They own the skincare world? Come on, they are heavily sponsored and they even did nothing about the Purito controversy!
Freedom of association with Susan and Naturium for them as well as for Sarah. Nobody should be bullying anybody in or out of being connected to her. Well done Sarah for stating your views while giving people room to make their own decisions.
@@NOBSBeauty mmmmm I dont think cassandra bankson is coming for you boo boo nor hyram nor james Welsh, Cassandra is all about positivity and while yes she has sponsors there sponsors that fall in line with her beliefs so for you to shame people for taking sponsorships is crazy just cause your not getting as much views and any sponsors doesnt mean you have to tear others down

I've been seeing naturium everywhere on Instagram lately. Literally had to come watch some videos about the scandal to remind myself that this actually happened. 😒 I guess so many people just don't care.
Her channel never gelled with me, just really rubbed me the wrong way and didn’t spend much time deconstructing why lol. But I did want to hear your take. Thanks ♥️❤️🧡
I am not part of the cancel culture. She did something stupid and lost people. I was there when plenty of people trashed her. I was there when people complained that they couldn’t talk politics on her group. She was trying to give some people a chance to speak and the opposing side accused her of tolerating hate. She turned off for a while to let things cool. She donated the profits from the scandal since people accused her of being greedy. I see it both ways but like I said cancel culture is not my thing. I watched her videos and I never got the impression she said she was better. Plenty of people enjoyed her fuck up. It’s kinda crazy to spend a whole video on her. Anyway, I like you. I like watching different opinions on actual users vs derm opinions.
I agree with you! People spend so much time hating on people. Plus, If I like a product and it does good for my face, I’m using it. I’m not gonna not use it just because a RUclipsr told me not to 🤷🏻♀️ lol
I'm fine with quietly withholding my finances from brands for awhile. Sending just flat out mean messages or going beyond constructive criticism is what makes it cancel culture and I strongly disagree with as well.
My 2 cents worth on Naturium: If it works for you, use it but consider looking for something better. Give a few reasonably priced options a go. Watch Dr. Dray for some of her drugstore / Wal-mart reccs. But if you truly love it and want to keep using it, no one can stop you 😊 as long as the brand exists, OR they reformulate.
I didn't know about this scandal otherwise I wouldn't have bought it BUT, I've been using only the retinol serum and cream for 7 weeks and my skin has changed for the better.
It’s great to see people with integrity on this platform. Susan had been in the game far to long to not know what she was doing was highly illegal 🙄🙄. Also her trashing the Ordinary and not revealing she was the brand owner opens her up to legal action from that brand too. I don’t support anyone that thinks they are above the law.
You can keep your integrity and do sponsorships or get pr. Being paid to do a job (give honest feedback after actually using/testing a product) isn’t wrong. If your job is giving honest feedback, being paid to do it isn’t unethical in any way. If someone has weak morals, they will be influenced by money. If someone has strong morals, they will be honest even when money is involved.
Scandal aside, the vitamin C serum and the ceramide cream is one of the few products that has helped my skin throughout the winter. I have extremely sensitive skin with dermatitis. Objectively speaking, should give the products a fair shot.
I have to say I missed that drama around naturium as I started watching youtube beauty videos last year when I was stuck home. I wanted to try out some products when they are available in Europe, re-thinking it now LOL I really admire your ethics and integrity views, cannot stand people who have none. I am also happy that you leave politcs out, as a swiss person I dont get that huge drama in the US at all, judging people according which party they belong to, is something we find really odd here in switzerland. Have a wonderfull day!
I didn’t know all that other stuff. Yikes! Maybe my gut was leading me in the right direction. I saw everyone you named reviewing Naturium and I went to their website several times, looked at the ingredients (which didn’t impress me but didn’t want to judge solely on ingredients), put a few things in the cart, go to check out, and I just couldn’t pull the trigger. Every time I tried, I just couldn’t do it. Something told me not too. I’m glad I didn’t.
@@NOBSBeauty If you get up to a million subs, you need to start a No BS Beauty Skincare Line. Then we can have at least 1 Skincare line we can fully trust lol.
I have melasma and can’t afford to pass up trying affordable options where possible (tranexamic serum). I don’t care for what she did, but there are most likely hundreds of other people working for that company that had nothing to do with her poor decisions and are just trying to earn a living.
@@tomjones2157 I’ve tried the one from Dearskin which was okay, that’s $19 on their website. After this Naturium one is up, I want to try the one by Face Theory which looks good for $25 or the one by Touch (Bright and Clear Cream) for $20. That one only has 3% tranex but I’m interested in the Azelaic acid that’s in it which is also supposed to be really good for pigment. I know none of these are miracles, but I wasted $150 on Lytera 2.0 that did nothing. The things we do, lol 🙃
Congratulations on 50k subscribers! You deserve it!!! I'm so glad you did this video because I have been thinking the same thing. The apology video is the worst in my opinion. It was filled with excuses and manipulation tactics also. Thanks for your integrity and not reviewing naturium.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! That apology video really got to me, the first fact that she monetized it, making her subs watch an ad first to see the apology. Then the whole video after that was a hot mess of mind tricks. I'll never understand her, but at this point, I'm okay with that!
YES THIS RIGHT HERE!!! I USED TO WATCH HER RELIGIOUSLY UNTIL THIS. Something about it doesn’t seem right & still doesn’t settle w/me well. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW it’s Been swept under the rug and never brought up again!!! This is how I feel and I don’t watch mixed makeup anymore honestly super sad 😞 Thanks for speaking up Sarah!! 🙌🙌👏👏
I went back to her channel recently and noticed the "I'm Sorry" video is no longer available...but the videos where she promoted Naturium without disclosing her stake in the company are still there. Really unacceptable :(
ruclips.net/video/WI_Wrmu2Dpk/видео.html You can watch it here. She made it private but the link was available on reddit. Still shady that she did this and few people know about this Correction: She made it unlisted not private
I don't want to fall into cancel culture but I didn't like how she was hiding it was her brand, or that she was involved somehow. I would like to know if creators that are now consultants for Naturium are properly disclosing this on all their own videos. You should be able to watch a random video and have a 100% clear understanding of the involvement of that creator with a brand they mention without the need of watching previous content.
I agree with you 100%. I am very curious what deal Susan is offering others to review her products. It does become difficult to tell, especially lately, what reviews are unsponsored. I wish this was made much more clear.
There's a huge difference in quietly not supporting her with views or dollars anymore based on her actions or sending feedback with constructive criticism. Versus hateful spamming online threads about character qualities being attributed to her as a person and terrible things you hope happen to her. I'm shocked by people who use time out of their day to do a spiteful tear down via public or private messages when they don't approve of what another person did. Good job to Sarah for not crossing that line.
I love how you stick to your principles more than anything and you´re not afraid to show that, in fact you seem proud of it and rightfully so. That´s actually so rare.. subscribed!
Am I the only one who just really doesn’t care? If the products work and my face enjoys it, I’m gonna use it. Maybe it’s selfish to you, but I’m just over here trying to get good skin. That’s all I care about, people make mistakes lol 🤷🏻♀️
So funny. I loved her and now I can’t trust a word, definitely not products. I used to follow her Twitter. She got into a little spat with me about healthcare for all. So condescending and simply didn’t care to see another POV. Then the hostage video with the influencers - trash. Love your integrity 💜
Susan seems to really think she's 100% right about everything in life. Kind of reminds me a little of myself when I was a teenager.... but with age comes wisdom (well, for most people, lol). I still cannot believe how she thinks she's smarter than everyone else out there, it really is a crazy way to be, isn't it?
@@NOBSBeauty that’s why I trust you completely. I honestly don’t buy anything unless I’ve seen your review. We don’t always agree but I trust your advice - thanks for what you do for us!!!
What Susan Yara did is so shady. I can’t believe that you can’t return products if any promo codes were used. Sneaky. And the ph of the vitamin c. I’m glad that I haven’t bought anything from her. Thanks for the info, love🍃🌸
I get that same feeling from her that she’s not that honest and speaks ill of other people who have different opinions and may have more experience or expertise in skincare and conditions than herself. We all different types of skin and skin conditions. It doesn’t make her an expert in skin and skin care. Some products or ingredients may work for other people and maybe not for others.
I really enjoy and respect your channel. I know I can get honest reviews from you. I was put off this brand after the controversy. Now learning you can't return anything with a promo code too, I will definitely be avoiding that brand.
It is so difficult to find RUclipsr/people in general with integrity and ethic.... Sad but the beauty of scandal is that you can see who they really are!
Yes! I saw a youtuber I watch recommend one of her products because she was doing a video of "affordable moisturizers". there are a lot of moisturizers she could have mentioned before mentioning naturium. It was weird, especially its a tiny pot for like $25.
I'm super disappointed in the people that have reviewed Naturium lately too. As far as I'm concerned that brand should be forgotten. Susan Yara too, her ethics as a brand owner and as a person aren't anything I want to support.
I was unaware about this until after I purchased the azelaic acid. And it’s too late for me to return it of course. And even if she pays you tubers to give her products “good reviews” this scandal is still going to haunt her. Karma is REAL 👏🏽👏🏽
@@NOBSBeauty thank you for the recommendations. I was going to purchase Paulas choice Azelic acid next. I originally wanted to buy hers first but that’s when I came across natrium and saw it was cheaper 😅 Ima just start googling skincare companies and put scandal behind it lol ain’t nobody got time to be wasting money on people who have no respect for their customers.
Isn't Naturium at Target now? Oh no, I think they had an azelaic acid product I was interested in. The Ordinary and Benton Snail Bee 🐌🐝 got me hooked on Azelaic Acid but Benton changed their formula and replaced it with niacinamide and The Ordinary's is awesome, but it is all silicone and pills like crazy. I even tried two different international pharmaceutical forms and that didn't work. I refuse to spend a fortune on the Paula's Choice. I was getting ready to give Naturium a try. Thanks as always for keeping me informed. 😉🥰
Naturium was the first brand I bought actives from. The Vitamin C Super Serum Plus with Retinol did work for me and it was actually very strong on my face. I remember having to work my way up to using it every other day. Since then my skin has changed and so has my skin needs. I bought and used the products before knowing the scandal. I’m SHOCKED about their return policies and I think that’s messed up. Just saw them yesterday at Target 🎯 and the prices are way higher then online. I see both sides and I urge ppl to test it out for them selfs. I no longer buy the products and I don’t follow her bc I found other ppl that I relate to more. I respect No BS Beauty opinion, I just wanted to share my experience. Sending lots of love and positivity :)
also, out of context, but if you are interested, can you please review the Naturekind Intensive Repair Retinol Cream? It's a new KBeauty retinol that got released!
Thought about trying her rice cleanser bc I want a Tatcha dupe but I came back here and remembered why I don’t want to buy anything from this brand. Btw: the Skinfood rice scrub foam is (sort of) a dupe for that already. Discovered that product at Ulta when they first got a (very small) amount of Kbeauty in. It did really good things for my skin, although now that I’m on tret I like the Tatcha one more bc it’s more moisturizing.
I get where you’re coming from and respect that you have decided not to support it because of the Scandal but it still doesn’t make sense to me how you support and promote Drunk Elephant with regard to everything you said about Susan in this video. The same logic should apply about DE. 🤯
I know DE has problems, but have they ever done fraud and/or breached FDA regulations? Also, why do people keep "protecting" naturium by basically saying "well other brands also lies" like that's absolves the fact that Susan yara lied and committed fraud??
@@maristar852 you totally missed the point. This is not about protecting Susan. And one does not exclude the other. Just because what Susan did is “worse” it doesn’t make what DE did better? It’s like saying a rapist is better than a murdered because at least he didn’t kill his victim... I’m questioning her because to me it makes no sense to bash a brand for it’s morals and then turn around and slap Protini on your face. To me what DE has been doing is on a level of its own because they intentionally and continually have bullied people for having bad experiences with their products and that to me is enough not to promote them or buy them. All this is, is double standards...
I know that there are people who don’t like Caroline Hirons, but her Instagram live was brilliant because she said what a lot of us were saying, that Susan Yara was supposed to be the adult in the room of skincare influencers. She was supposed to be one of the good ones, and then to see her being passive aggressive about Black Lives Matter in her Facebook group was the last straw for me.
Lol Black Lives Matter is a domestic terrorist organization, they have had billions of dollars in donations yet haven’t spent any dollars on improving Black Communities, Where did the money go? 🤔
@@brandonnguyen3955 there’s always going to be extremists in any organization, doesn’t mean the heart of it is bad. The KKK is an extremist Christian organization, are you gonna say that all Christianity is bad? you speak of millions of dollars being raised for BLM with no return, maybe you’re right. But to me, BLM is a movement that’s core value is that Black Lives Matter just as much as anyone else, and especially white people, and that white people’s lives should not matter more than Black people’s lives, which has been the case for far too long. To me, that might be the most powerful accomplishment that they’ve made that’s worth far more than rubies. You know another thing that worth far more than rubies? Wisdom, look it up, you might learn a thing or two from it.
I have not forgotten. I haven’t been able to watch any of her content since. Edit: her stuff has good reviews and is Dr. V approved so it’s hard not to want to try them.
I can't stand to watch her, after the monetized apology video and cutting down Dr Sandra Lee. it's all over for me. I wonder if she still makes new videos... but not willing to check!
Doesn’t make the dishonesty and brand ok but their brand’s dermatologist said in a video recently that because the L Ascorbic Acid is encapsulated, they are able to formulate at the higher pH and that’s ok? Can you speak to your thoughts on this - encapsulation in general and if it makes getting the pH exactly right less important, even if you don’t want to review their products specifically any more?
Ascorbic acid's pka is 4.1; at ph 4, half of it is effective. As the neutral form is absorbed, more ascorbic acid is driven to become neutral too (Le Chatelier's principle).
The return policy is super shady, wow. Just like the launch. I looked at her products, but the ph seems to be off on most of them and I did not like the formulas. I stopped watching her after the scandal. I'd rather pay more for a well formulated product from respectable companies.
I couldn't believe the ph for the Super C Serum was so off, I think most formulators know with Vitamin C pH is paramount factor in its efficacy. Once I realized this was wrong I figured most of the other products probably have similar issues.
@@NOBSBeauty But the vitamin C is “encapsulated” in its own ph. Why do I not believe that her chemists, of all the chemists in the world, have come up with this brilliant formulation, specifically for HER products, while the rest of the companies are slumming it with low ph formulas? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I’m not a chemist, so I might be wrong, but it just doesn’t sound believable to me.
100% agree with you, people have swept her actions under the rug and moved on. It’s sad because she was respected and she didn’t need to do what she did. Then on top of that there was the deleted post from mixed makeup, no no, next. I won’t judge people who do support the brand, I’m sure some of her products are great, there are so many they can’t all be fails. Ultimately I choose where I put my money and I’ll put none into her brand.
Did Hyram and James mention naturium recently? I haven’t seen them talking about the brand since the scandal. I might’ve just missed it but just curious...🤔
Yeah I haven't heard either of them talk about the brand since this scandal happened. James did address it on his Instagram at the time. She has branched ojt to other RUclipsrs tho.
Hyrum, James and Liah have not reviewed Naturium since ‘the big reveal’. I usually respect this channels research but this video is just a word by word of a Reddit post.
@@SiliconValleyMommy Gothamista absolutely has not talked about it. I’m not sure if you’re confusing her with someone else, but I don’t think she’s ever talked about Naturium and she has a huge issue with what happened.
Integrity, ethics, honesty, in a word values. Where they are missing I will not support brands or people. Tbh I only started recently watching such videos and I thought she was bsing before I heard what she had done. Trust is a valuable thing. But I think what goes around comes around. Geez tq for the blunt review!!! Not many are bold enough for this … no BS indeed… I was so in the dark about Susan’s manipulative tactics in the industry almost wanted to get Naturium products and they’re pretty pricey for those of us here in Asia …. Tq so much for TRUTHFUL content😘😘😘❤
I love it that you're so authentic :) I've stopped watching ALL influencers who promote Naturium. I agree that when $$$ comes before integrity it's just wrong. Too much of that already in this world.
I love Susan Yara and Naturium! So happy it's at Target now! Vitamin C Super Serum is great! Read their lab journal - it doesn't have to have a low, irritating pH!
She already deleted her apology video so all the new subscribers would never know that there was an issue in the first place. Just shady behavior all around.
Ahhh... I didn't know she deleted it. Very shady!
WOW... I didn't know this. Still more deceitful behavior. She's lucky a lot of people have short term memory!
@@NOBSBeauty I thought she deleted it too, turns out she just made it private. I had to go to reddit to access it. You can view it as long as you have the link

She should have retired from youtube, I don't know how she still has the guts to make videos, disgusting!
@@tomjones2157 gotta drop the fav youtubers names

She really threw the shade at so many brands and people. It's not a good a look to try to bring yourself up by cutting other people down.
I unsubscribed from her channel right away and even clicked "don't suggest content from this channel". Everything she said was a lie.
At least The Ordinary knows now to formulate products at the proper ph 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Also, shout out to Caroline Hirons for instantly calling her out on her bull shit. It definitely made me question where the skincare community would draw the line ethics wise. This women bare-faced lied to everyone and faced little to no backlash.
Can you link caroline’s Video calling out Susan? I cannot find it anywhere
I would love for one of the RUclipsrs who study body language to review her apology video!
Omg mad about skin has entered the chat 🥰

We don’t realize we are the ones that give these people the power & that’s why they get away with a lot.
Very good points. I get tempted to test out everything and I totally understand why you might want to try them, stay strong! I wonder if Susan will still be posting you RUclips in the years to come, especially when her audience has dwindled.
@@NOBSBeauty yeah & another thing I started disliking about her is how now she believes she’s superior than others because she’s been around for awhile & have her own products 😑
I honestly hope that you keep growing because we need people like you that stay truth & don’t let money buy your opinion on stuff!
Totally agree
If she didn't know what she was doing someone around here did. Her marketing team should have stopped that immediately. It's super shady. I have no desire to try any of her products. I won't support her.
You are so right, if she didn't know what she was doing was illegal someone around her must have known this, maybe her attorney husband?!?!?
She’s a seasoned RUclipsr. The FTC guidelines are very cut and clear. She knew what she was doing.
@@NOBSBeauty if you know anything about attorneys is that they can find many loop holes. not that mind boggling
One thing that Susan lost as a result of her scandal is most of her viewers on youtube.
I wonder if that was a calculated risk, as long as Naturium was successful she didn't care about RUclips any longer? Not sure, just a thought, everything she does seems to be calculated and relates to money. Does she still publish videos- I wonder, but not willing to go and check, lol!

Jen Luv did a fantastic video on this scandal!
I was pretty sad to see some of the bigger RUclipsrs review their stuff, and how can anyone give that Vitamin C Serum a good review?!?!?
Yes, fully agree- that women Does not have integrity and her products is very avarage.... and I think there is no place for such a behavior - especially at her age...
Exactly. It’s sad:(
@@NOBSBeauty disappointing indeed
I have stopped watching her completely, I don't think I have access to her products here but as always, there are plenty of brands to try and only 1 face space of real estate so not wasting my time on 2nd chances, whatnot.
Same here, unfollowed her. No ill will at all, but I cannot trust her anymore
Same, I really liked her videos until all that happened and now I just can’t trust any products she reviews.
Couldn’t agree more!

Sounds like a good brand to steer clear of.

I'm still not buying the brand because of the launch.

I was going to purchase Naturium from target a month or so ago. Then I googled for some reviews but found a cesspool of scandals instead.

Always listen to your gut, it will always lead you in the right direction!
@@NOBSBeauty If you get up to a million subs, you need to start a No BS Beauty Skincare Line. Then we can have at least 1 Skincare line we can fully trust lol.
Crazy thought here - you could just not support a brand that you don’t agree with and leave other people out of it. This is not a good look.
Shes making ppl aware of who theyre giving their money to
@@matt8953 I’m referring to the people who do decide, for their own personal reasons, to support the brand.
I appreciate your candor!
I have melasma and can’t afford to pass up trying affordable options where possible (tranexamic serum). I don’t care for what she did, but there are most likely hundreds of other people working for that company that had nothing to do with her poor decisions and are just trying to earn a living.
Its important to go with what you think is right. Do you know of any other affordable Tranexamic serums? I've been struggling to find some.
The inkey list has one and they are usually at a pretty good price point
FWIW, Inkey List has a version of tranexamic acid that is at least 5%.
^^^and the Inkey List price would be something like $10.
Congratulations on 50k subscribers! You deserve it!!! I'm so glad you did this video because I have been thinking the same thing. The apology video is the worst in my opinion. It was filled with excuses and manipulation tactics also. Thanks for your integrity and not reviewing naturium.
The apology video was worse than what she did and spoke louder volumes about her motivations and attitude. She will be just fine without my money.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! That apology video really got to me, the first fact that she monetized it, making her subs watch an ad first to see the apology. Then the whole video after that was a hot mess of mind tricks. I'll never understand her, but at this point, I'm okay with that!
@@NOBSBeauty Exactly!!!! I would never trust her or her products. I appreciate your authenticity:)
YES THIS RIGHT HERE!!! I USED TO WATCH HER RELIGIOUSLY UNTIL THIS. Something about it doesn’t seem right & still doesn’t settle w/me well. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW it’s
Been swept under the rug and never brought up again!!! This is how I feel and I don’t watch mixed makeup anymore honestly super sad 😞 Thanks for speaking up Sarah!! 🙌🙌👏👏
Same here 🙋🏽♀️
I went back to her channel recently and noticed the "I'm Sorry" video is no longer available...but the videos where she promoted Naturium without disclosing her stake in the company are still there. Really unacceptable :(
ruclips.net/video/WI_Wrmu2Dpk/видео.html
You can watch it here. She made it private but the link was available on reddit. Still shady that she did this and few people know about this
Correction: She made it unlisted not private
That´s actually so rare.. subscribed!
You and dr Dray are only person that I always go to when I want to try something new . Love you 😘 . Thank you for everything you share with us ❤️
Dr. Dray just posted a review of Naturium.
Am I the only one who just really doesn’t care? If the products work and my face enjoys it, I’m gonna use it. Maybe it’s selfish to you, but I’m just over here trying to get good skin. That’s all I care about, people make mistakes lol 🤷🏻♀️
I hear products are sold out so I guess there are many more like you 🤷🏽♀️
@@orozcoaj69 yes good for Susan. Her brand is doing good
Agree
This is one of my favorite videos you’ve done! Your brutal honesty is so refreshing and is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you!
Every one makes mistakes, she made one and owned it, and no one is perfect and we all need forgiveness. Her products is good, I use it and love it.
I really appreciate your honesty and integrity
I really enjoy and respect your channel. I know I can get honest reviews from you. I was put off this brand after the controversy. Now learning you can't return anything with a promo code too, I will definitely be avoiding that brand.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I take this platform very seriously, and I hope others continue to do the same!
It is so difficult to find RUclipsr/people in general with integrity and ethic.... Sad but the beauty of scandal is that you can see who they really are!
Huge support and HUGE respect for you and your channel. please keep doing what you do, exactly the way you do it.
Thank you so much for your sweet comment!
Yes! I saw a youtuber I watch recommend one of her products because she was doing a video of "affordable moisturizers". there are a lot of moisturizers she could have mentioned before mentioning naturium. It was weird, especially its a tiny pot for like $25.
I certainly remember. That’s why I decided to never purchase the products. I usually check your channel first if I’m looking for an honest review.
I bought the azaelic acid as well. Didn’t realize all of this was going on. Thanks for the update. Won’t buy anymore!
Garden of Wisdom as well as Geek and Gorgeous both make great Azelaic Acid Serums, just in case you are looking in the future!
Paula’s choice AZ acid is good
Isn't Naturium at Target now?
I thought the L ascorbic acid was encapsulated so the ph could be higher and it's still effective?? No?
also, out of context, but if you are interested, can you please review the Naturekind Intensive Repair Retinol Cream? It's a new KBeauty retinol that got released!
Oooh, I'm excited about this one, there are so few Retinol products in the Kbeauty industry so I've gotta check this one out!
It did really good things for my skin, although now that I’m on tret I like the Tatcha one more bc it’s more moisturizing.
i always liked the 9wishes rice cleanser too just fyi
I get where you’re coming from and respect that you have decided not to support it because of the Scandal but it still doesn’t make sense to me how you support and promote Drunk Elephant with regard to everything you said about Susan in this video. The same logic should apply about DE. 🤯
Good point. If you refuse to associate with a brand because of ethics do it across the board.
Wow! And here I am with a target cart full of Naturium! So glad I saw this video! Thank you! Subbed IMMEDIATELY!
Is it shady? Yes. BUT the products either work or they don't. That's the most important thing.
Honestly can’t agree more! Can’t believe how it just seemed to be all forgotten about. Integrity truly means everything imo!
I love and respect Caroline that insta live was great.

🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗
